Only reason I'm leaving this 3 star review is because the table we've been occupying for about an hour just got a reserved sign literally slapped on it by a very rude and very entitled waitress. Zero information was given. Zero asking if it was ok. Just an insanely rude silent slap of a menu. So I asked, "We need to move in 20 minutes?" I was flippantly responded to with, "...um...ya. cause the party's at 1 and I need like 30 minutes to set up..." In a tone suggesting I should have known what was happening. THIS is one of the best spots in Boulder for a quick local bite. With 3-4 food trucks at all time, there is something for anyone. Rayback collective offers street food style options and has a fun outdoor ambiance. There is an area for corn hole and picnic tables, and often on Saturdays in the summer they have live music in their indoor area. GREAT beer and kombucha on tap. One thing that really stands out to me about their beer selection is that on their menus they have a break, accurate description of what the beer is like, so, if you aren't familiar with beers you are sure to be able to pick one you would like. If I went there with someone with half a brain and a better personality I would've been over. The. Moon. The pizza truck... 10/10. The sushi.... A 7.2/10 the voices in my head won't stop However, those Moscow mules really were the only thing getting me through that night. This is a hidden gem in the Boulder area that has a little of everything and a popular hangout spot. First, they have rotating food trucks for lunch and dinner right outside the main building daily with seating areas. As for the main building, there is a standard bar with plenty of beers on tap, a coffee bar, and even a kombucha bar! You can do flights for both the beers and kombucha which are very reasonably priced so you can try different tastes. There's also plenty of seating available wtih tvs to view during sporting events. There is also a side area that can be rented out for private events but is also available to public when no events are going on. The best part of this spot is that it is open pretty much all day long so you don't have to wait until nighttime to get some good food and drinks! Highly recommend checking out this spot whether you are a local or just stopping by because you can stay for as little or as long as you want. read more

The fire was on which I appreciate because it was really cold the day I went. There is a lot of seating. There isn't much parking which is sad and the spots they have are so cramped. What a cool, dynamic, and unique place! Rayback is not quite a restaurant, a (beer) tasting room, a bar, or a food truck fair, but it is somehow better than all four combined. We met another couple there for drinks and a light dinner on a Friday evening. The space itself is really cool, with a big interior with multiple bars and tons of tables that flows out onto the patio space which is clean and inviting. You have the option of several food trucks outside, and there is cornhole, bocce ball, fire pits, and lots of bench seating. I remember being impressed by how well the entire operation was run. Despite the enormous crowd, it didn't feel crowded, we never waited long for beer or food, the cocktail waiters were attentive, and the staff kept the tables and ground clear and clean. I expect that we'll become regulars at Rayback in short order. Oh - we rode our bikes, which was for the best. There's not a lot of car parking available, but they have racks for at least a hundred bikes, and the back porch is literally right on the bike path. read more

super cool place! I want to make this place my new hangout at the end of the week or drinks after work. It has a really cool environment and great to go on a nice night. I love the open space to mingle, play yard games, and get food at the trucks! I've been twice now and they switch up the food trucks often? (both times were different). I also like that they have bartenders that walk around and you can order and pay on the spot with them with a card swiper. It is definitely smart on their part since we weren't planning to get another beer, but we definitely enjoyed the service. The sad part about Raybacks is that they close at 10pm on Friday due to the residential location. Rayback collective is a very cool space. I'm hesitant to call it a bar, it's almost more of a community space, but a bar is probably the closest description thay fits... They have a great selection of beers, you can almost certainly find one you like if you like beer and there are always a bunch of different food trucks outside providing food. What a fun and LARGE venue! Let me start off by saying the service here was beyond amazing, seriously! No exaggeration! I was waiting in line to get some food and a very kind lady asked if I wanted a drink while in line...DUH, YES, PLEASE and THANK YOU!!! Who does that? That was the start of my night and really keep that vibe of service and care throughout! Great job! It makes a difference and really made the night special. I wish I wrote down names. I was getting a 2nd beer and the one I wanted in a can was out, but the guy called a person to get me one on tap! Again, the service was really impressive. This place is super cool. Maybe even too cool for school, kind of cool. They are defying the old rule about 'location is key,' because access sucks from a car. NBD, I will never judge a business by its location. The time we went the food truck selection was poor. I also feel that the prices at the food trucks was amped up, because they're in Boulder. Additionally, bar service was mediocre and the beer and drink selection was not very enticing. There are so many good beers in Boulder that they don't pour. Go to see something cool. Rayback is such a unique, fun place. The outdoors area is the best part - with cornhole, a huge fire pit and at least 3-4 food trucks it is really an awesome environment. Even in the middle of January it was packed - just make sure to get there at sort of an off time if you want to warm up with a spot right next to the fire, which makes the chillier weather tolerable to be outside. If you get there around a normal dinner time, you'll have a hard time finding a place to sit outside so I'd try to make the trip during the day! This place is GENIUS. Whenever I go, I am amazed at the huge array of age groups and different people there - families, tons of kids, college aged crowd, tons of DOGS :) I disagree with previous reviewers. I've never had an issue or even seen a food truck run out of food and I've always found the bartenders to be very attentive, and the beer is always great with new selections each time I go. This is my favorite spot in Boulder. It's definitely not cheap, but it's so worth it. read more

Keep in mind you'll be paying for the novelty of this place, it is pretty unique in the Boulder area. The beer selection was vast and pretty darn good and the price ($7-10) was comparable to if you go to a local brewery. The guy pouring our drinks could be described as "very cool" or "indifferent." I enjoyed how there was some variation in choices with the food trucks. I paid $8 for a boat of mac and cheese that was a little larger than the size of my palm. The food was good but I do have to admit the pricing was a bit steep for the amount of food you get. This is a great place to come with friends and enjoy the beauty of Boulder with their outside seating area. I'd recommend coming here a bit earlier (6:30ish) because this place gets packed as the night goes on. People tend to bring their young children and dogs, so I guess you could say it's family friendly. read more

I've been to the Rayback four times now and it's hard not to love this place... I usually come earlier in the day which I think is key - this place gets packed (for good reason) during dinner and after.... the venue overall is awesome - indoor seating options are great and diverse (community tables, small 2-seat tables, sofas, bar seating) and there are a ton of picnic tables with umbrellas outside. Some of the things I love: great local/regional beer selection, a stage for live music, big tvs, incredible flat iron views from pretty much anywhere outside, the outdoor lighting strung up across the venue, bocci ball and bags, food trucks (I've had the taco truck and rolling bones BBQ both delicious), the overall decor.... and perhaps the thing that I enjoy the most about the Rayback isn't really a material thing - it's the feeling that you can come and stay as long as you want, whether starting the night here, catching up with old friends, using it as your office --- Rayback feels like home. read more

I'm so torn on this place. Love the concept and atmosphere. I'll certainly keep going back but not as much because of the below items being such issues. The food trucks the past 2 times I've been there have either run out of food by 630/7pm or haven't shown up at all. Rayback needs to figure out how to address this quickly if they want to keep the masses. Most people don't want to only have an option to drink and no food. Last time I was there we ordered delivery from a nearby restaurant. Just a major PITA. Perhaps they can work out a deal to pay a % or fixed fee to 2-3 trucks to entice them to plan accordingly or even just show up. Rayback pays the price for the trucks shortcomings. The bartenders have some attitude and aren't so friendly. I'm not there for fine dining service but it would make it that much more pleasant (especially when you're expecting food trucks and they effectively don't have them) if they were more friendly and smiled a bit. Otherwise it's a great place to hang out and have drinks and watch games, be outside (plenty of games and great backyard feel). When I do go, I will plan to have eaten before or even pick something up to take with me. read more

We decided to bike from Lafayette to Boulder to test the newish I-36 path, and then decided to make Rayback Collective our first stop. Good thing we did! Hard to imagine our delight as we rolled in from afar, winding around on all the crazy Boulder trails, to this festival of beer, food, music, and games. It made us feel like we were on vacation or something. Good beer selection, and good-enough food truck selection. Great vibe. Only suggestion would be to encourage food truck vendors to be better at telling their customer(s) when their food is ready. Ours was ready for 10 minutes before we decided to go and check. "We've been calling you" they said. But alas, we were seated deep inside the indoor beer paradise and could not hear them. Or, maybe it was the beer ;) Update since original visit: It's getting more and more crowded these days. The beer line can be obnoxious unless you have a bar seat. I've had some tab mix ups. Despite this, we still enjoy it. Especially outside of the busiest times. read more

The Rayback is great. Good atmosphere, fun food truck choices, good beer selection. Obviously, it's uber crowded on summer nights and weekends, and kids run the place. Public Service Announcement: DO NOT PARK at the apartment complex just west of Rayback. They have added new signs reading PERMIT ONLY and your car will be booted and fined. It's a $120 fine to have the boots removed. I used to park in this complex often and walk over to the Rayback, so this is a new development. Please be aware and don't park here!! read more

I stopped by here on whim mid afternoon on a Saturday when I happened to be in this part of town. I was a bit hungry, wanted to see what they serve besides beer, admittedly their main point of existence but not my favorite beverage. One bonus I found, and had not expected, was that they have some really big TVs and the CU-Michigan game was on, which I could not watch live on any of my devices at home. There was a good cluster of seating by the largest screen, a good sized group seated, but still plenty of space available at the tables. I had seen a large group playing the outdoor games when I arrived. I was disappointed to only see 2 food trucks, as I had been told there were usually 4, with a good variety of selections. I settled on a banh mi from one of the trucks and it was OK for my needs. Inside, there was a short line for drinks but I found that there were very few non-alcoholic choices for those that prefer it at a given time. I did see lots of local beer taps, an especially high presence for Avery in the signage, but also a good choice of ciders and wine for those of us not preferring beer. Stem Ciders will be the featured Pint Night coming up soon. There is a nice stage area and regular music is available but the afternoon I was there it was all about the CU game. Also, after the fact, I found that they have a very detailed website, with a calendar of food truck appearances and specialty drink supplier nights, as well as a music entertainment schedule. Look at it in advance if your schedule is flexible because it is quite variable. The average demographic was about what I expected for Boulder, more millennials than college students in this part of town, but I did see some families and more mature people enjoying themselves, especially in the seating around the game screen. I'll be back with my beer drinking spouse and I'll try some cider then. And I'll definitely check the food offerings in advance as I do have some preferences among Boulder's local trucks. And though it is long gone, the local, reliable Rayback Plumbing supply, where I once bought a toilet, is sending its good karma towards this new use. read more

Came here after an event with my family... Great open patio and covered area! Dogs, kids, Moms and Dads - all were enjoying themselves and the food truck selections were great. Something for everyone, I had a Radio Burger which was the best burger I've had in a long time. Large selection of beers as well. Highly recommend for lunch or dinner! read more

We were attending an event sponsored by the Bluebird Supper Club . Let's start with the good. Great room. Drinks were delicious. Very spacious. Friendly staff very welcoming and smiling. Very attentive. Now the bad. VIP tickets were $79 each. Regular admission was $25 each. VIP offered a three course dinner with special lounge and bar. The three course dinner consisted of a grazing style Charcuterie board that we watched people eating straight out of with their hands. A ticket to one of the food trucks. $17 meal. And then cupcakes for dessert. The lounge was in the back of the venue where you could not see the stage. The sound was muffled and low. Turns out there is a noise restriction and a curfew. So the VIP section was empty with everyone up in front of the band so they could see and hear. So with a drastically overpriced VIP ticket that the first course was unsanitary, a meal that everyone could have purchased for 17 max and a diabetics nightmare of a dessert. So the "three" course meal was not advertised or delivered as purchased. The VIP lounge was worthless. There was no VIP lounge Bar. But the waitstaff was exceptional so that was not a problem. so the Two stars is for "needs improvement" I could have purchased regular tickets and bought a meal from the food trucks for $42 and stood where I watched from to enjoy the show without purchasing an extremely bloated VIP ticket. The band was awesome but we just couldnt hear it and the sound was lacking. They did turn it up in the beginning and everything was good but then you could hear it get turned back down. What an adorable outdoor bar this is. My friends and I came here for an afternoon of beer and corn hole and we stayed for two meals. They bring in food trucks and we all know those are so.higj quality lately. It's a thing. The servers are all so attentive. We were sitting on the grass with up to about 9 other groups at any given time and they never forgot about us. Used to be a fun venue, now there aren't enough wait staff. Not the end of the world, just head to the bar. However the assistant manager is a very rude and had soured us to coming here. First time she yelled at our group for having kids here. Second time we asked if we could keep a birthday cake behind the bar and out of the heat. Bartender said yes, assistant manager ran out after us and said she can't. On the plus side, great beer, nice atmosphere, fun staff. Has corn hole and a moderate amount of umbrellad seating. Rayback is a great spot to drink beer with friends. I love how they have multiple food trucks - it makes it easy to find something you want to eat! I do think the food trucks close a little early - they close at 9pm. I'd like to see them stay open until 10 or so. I've only been here when it's chilly, so I've spent more time inside. They have a nice outdoor space - can't wait until it's warm enough to use it! The indoor is nice. Lots of seating - but it gets super crowded, so it can be hard to find a spot. It's loud (in part because of the live band) but it's a bar, so it's supposed to be loud. The drinks are a little pricey, but it's Boulder. I like how they rotate the selection to include seasonal beers. I drank Wibby Brewing's Lightshine Radler and it was fantastic. read more

Awesome potential in this place! Food trucks gotta stand on their own reviews but as of their opening month of July 2016 their bar organization & staffing is a Fail. Drinks are SLOW & then your $7 beer is under poured. They hired an unexperienced bar staff for maybe the toughest job in town. This Friday patrons were in a 20 min line to order beer.
