Some of the best food and service we've experienced in a while! We sat at a high top in the bar, and Roque made sure our night was perfect. He recommended the pork belly bites, which were melt in your mouth tender with a gorgeous, perfectly balanced sauce. Finished with the bite of thin, sliced chili and tiny, perfect segments of mandarin. Just wow!! He also recommended the chicken fried steak, which was the best chicken fried steak I've ever had. The kiss of heat in the jalapeño gravy was incredible, and my husband kept raving about the potatoes. And he's not even usually a potato guy. We also shared a delicious, perfectly cooked and juicy ribeye with yummy cornbread on the side. My husband loved his spicy margarita, and my wine was delicious and the perfect temperature. My wine paired beautifully with our meal, and we finished with the bread pudding with whiskey sauce. Wow! That was there with my grandma's. We love the people watching, especially the efficient, well oiled collaboration of the service and kitchen team. This team serves up to 800 a night, and they make it look so easy, like a perfectly coordinated beehive. The place is kind of loud so personally I would not go as a first date spot. Definitely book a reservation, as the place is super crowded. Service was decent, took a while to order our food but it came out in a reasonable amount of time. The appetizers were the best part of the meal IMO. The pork belly app is CRAZY GOOD!! Crispy on the outside yet tender and melts in your mouth on the inside. The meat and cheese board is a 10/10. No need to pick or choose your own meat and cheese. I love the balance of sweet and savory. Also has honey comb and olives . I got the chicken fried steak which was pretty good. Crispy and flavorful batter and the meat inside was juicy and tender. Had a business dinner at the Ranch with a couple colleagues. First time the Ranch. Very big steakhouse. Lots of room inside and outside. We had to wait only a couple of minutes at 6pm on a Monday night. We sat outside which was nice but was disappointed with the shaggy artificial turf. I had their mixed bowl topped with steak. I write a lot of reviews on Yelp and 95% are praising the establishment and the other 5% are hitting whatever strength they had and then whatever went wrong, but we understand kind of thing. Not this time. Been dining in extended DFW area forever and I have never had someone tell me "I will not seat a group of 6". I was waiting for options, suggestions, apology or anything. My husband asked why, as we saw obviously larger families coming out the door after finishing their meals. No reservations ever here for lunch, so we would wait. We would understand, but no. He looked right back at us and said, "Look, I am not seating 6. I have 3 more hours of buffet and that is not going to happen." My husband was flabbergasted and asked why again. He just looked at us and repeated "I will not seat 6". So I waited a few seconds and told him there was no such information on the website or even on the front door. Are you saying we should just go somewhere else and that's it? He shrugged. We walked out, got on the phone with our adult children who were on their way and told them to head to Lupe Tortilla Mexican Restaurant a few minutes away. We were received there in 30 minutes and it was super crowded and everyone was pleasant and the food was excellent and we will return to Lupe but never to The Ranch. When visiting Dallas, my in-laws wanted to celebrate their wedding anniversary with steak so my sister-in-law and her husband recommended The Ranch. I'm so glad they did because we had a wonderful time here. We were a party of 15 with 6 kids under 8 and yet they still were able to seat us at a table and take wonderful care of us. They even gave great service to all the kids. I appreciate that they took the time to make them feel welcome & part of the experience. The interior of the restaurant is wonderful. It's dark, but not too dark. Just enough to give it a nice mood. There's also huge vaulted ceilings which really helps keep conversations from other guests from bouncing around and making the place overly loud. You just get the sense that they put plenty of time in to interior design as they did the food. Speaking of which, all of the food we had was wonderful. Portion sizes were MASSIVE. I tried the pork chop and it could easily have been 2-3 meals. All of the steaks that everyone got were similar. Everything was seasoned properly, cooked to perfection, and were delicious from the first bite to the last. I will say, however, that we all felt like the appetizers were slightly over salted. Not to the point that it ruined the dishes, but it could have been toned down a bit. The one thing that is really keeping me from giving this place a 5 star review is that 2 of the children (one who just turned 1 and the other who was 3) ordered the grilled chicken off the kids menu. However, the chefs accidentally put blackened seasoning on both of them so that when the kids bit in to it, the understandably freaked out because it was too spicy for them. The restaurant did make good and got us new dishes for them, but by the time they were able to do that, we had given the kids sides such as French fries and fruit to the point where they weren't hungry anymore and it was late so they were tired & ready for bed. Really wish that mistake hadn't happened on both dishes. We could have just not ordered 2 plates because they both just went right home to my sister-in-law since she was the only local who'd be able to eat the chicken at some point. With all that said, we had a wonderful meal at The Ranch. Staff was very friendly and helpful. The food (other than mentioned above) was plentiful and tasty. I came here on Saturday for a brunch. The waitress was amazing! I forget her name unfortunately but she was a younger African American Woman who told us she too used to work in hotels. My boyfriend and I are both General Managers of Hotels so it was nice to chat with a fellow hotelier. The food was amazing! The mimosa flight was great! The bottle of champagne was really good. We had to wait 45 mins for table but it went really quick since we went to bar to grab some drinks and they sat us down quickly after.
