The Ranch is a casual though upscale restaurant in Las Colinas.We went to celebrate Valentines Day. We ordered a few appetizers. The Cevice' and the fried green tomatoes. Others with me are almost all of the Ceviche'. They liked it but didn't love it. It was the sauce they weren't keen on. The fried green tomatoes were really good. They sat on a roumelade sauce that was heavenly. After the tomatoes were gone, we scraped the place for that sauce. Now the meats. We ordered the Cowboy Feast for 4 of us. The 32oz tomahawk ribeye was so rare and so fatty we didn't all of it. The sirloin was awesome and we ate every bite. Most of us liked the garlic filet. What was weird is the just stuff whole garlic cloves into the steak. When one fell out it freaked me out for a second until I realized what it was. The sides: Brussels Sprouts and whipped potatoes were amazing, although there wasn't enough of either for 4 people. The asparagus was good as well. The cornbread was delicious! The vanilla bean cheesecake was yummy. We highly recommend it. Our server was great. No issue there. Our overall feeling is that the Cowboy Feast is overpriced for what you receive. This restaurant is ramped up on fancy but not anywhere worth the price. Staff is rehearsed but service at a diner is often better and friendlier. We had five people dine and the bill was almost $800. We were there a couple nights ago and unfortunately, the person delivering our food. Drop the whole tray on the ground.Do they made us a new meals server said sorry no manager came over I get it accidents happened. We were patient. We literally sat and waited for dinner for two hours, but they could at least have comped us a dessert drinks one meal. We took the grandkids to the ranch for their birthday and it was absolutely amazing! I've eaten a lot of steak in my life and I can't remember any that was better than The Ranch. We had a great time as we spent more than two hours in the restaurant. There was no need to rush. We had the big combo appetizer and added a few elk tacos so everyone could have one. The onion rings were cooked to perfection. The feast was plenty of food for 5 people and probably a bargain. Best of all, you get the 33 oz tomahawk ribeye. Cooked to medium rare but with an exquisite char. The spices on outside popped in your mouth with bursts of flavor. The garlic stuffed filet was also a dream come true. Juicy, tender and loaded with flavor. The strip steak with any of their three butters was a delight to my taste buds. The asparagus was, well, asparagus. My grandson gobbled all the mac & cheese so fast I didn't get a taste. The brussel sprouts had a wonderful sweet and savory taste. Finished off the night with a couple of whiskey bread puddings and CAPPOW!!! What an incredible meal. The restaurant is very nice and clean. Loud, but in a fun way. When I'm craving steak, and need to get it fast, it's The Ranch. Right around the corner from home, The Ranch has a robust menu with the fillet, mac and cheese, and green beans being my go-tos. The Ranch has a Texas/southwestern feel to its design but also is dimly lit so it can feel formal too - which is unique. The service at The Ranch is very good - however for whatever reason, my steaks tend to come out more rare than I would like pretty much every time I go there. So I really have to go high maintenance mode with my server when ordering in an effort to prevent that - and even then I have had to send it back (once I even got into an exchange/quasi-argument with a server who had an "this is how we do it" attitude and it still came out blood red). Still, whether it's birthdays, special occasions, or a guest in town, when it's time for steak, it's The Ranch. read more

What a wonderful Sunday afternoon we spent at The Ranch recently! We were in the Las Colinas area looking for my wife's new office location and decided to have a relaxing "late lunch/early dinner" visit to The Ranch. It was a beautiful afternoon. We really wanted to sit outside but with my wheelchair it looked like it might have some challenges. We were seated in the outside area off the main dining room. Very nice and airy with all sorts of cool stuff to look at. Our server was so personable and eager to please. She took such great care of us during our visit. I had her name but lost the receipt I had it on. Bummer, but she was wonderful. We started our dining experience with an order of fried green tomatoes. They were quite good. For our entrees, my wife decided on the chicken fried steak, and I opted for grilled Texas Redfish. After a short wait, with a lot of wonderful conversation, our beautifully presented entrees were delivered to our table. The entrees were plated very skillfully. My wife's chicken fried steak was accompanied with rich creamy mashed potatoes and garlic sauteed green beans. My grilled Texas Redfish platted was accompanied with a flavorful citrus dressing and a cilantro lime rice. Both our entrees were so delicious. My wife loved her chicken fried steak and the sides. The mashed potatoes were decadently rich and creamy, and the green beans were sauteed to perfection. My Texas Redfish was grilled to perfection. The salad and cilantro lime rice were the perfect accompaniment to the grilled redfish. The portions were just the right size where we didn't feel too stuffed. We shouldn't have done it, but we did, we ordered a dessert to share. After looking at the menu, we both decided on the Whiskey Bread Pudding on the recommendation of our server. I was made from buttery croissants and topped with The Ranch's signature whiskey blend custard and whiskey anglaise. He came back for regular refills, he was friendly, he even asked us if we want to go drinks at the end (which nobody does anymore) we said no but really appreciated the ask! We had the crab dip which is always incredible and a huge reason why we continue to come back. It has lump crab, mushrooms. Deliciousness. We ordered the cowboys feast which sounds like a LOT of food but it was the perfect amount for 3 of us! As sides we had the chimichurri rice, macaroni and cheese, asparagus, and loaded mashed potatoes. There were some sauces to accompany the meats (chimichurri, some sauce with a nice spice and I did not try the third one.) We ended the meal with the pecan pie. Deliciousness! 10/10 recommend. Another home run by a local eatery. Boss Lady and I came in on a cold Sunday afternoon and were blown away. First off is the decor. It's very cowboy but not over the top. She loved it, and really loved the roaring fireplace. After being seated, we ordered drinks. Their Whiskey Smash is very refreshing. She had a house salad, which was huge. I had a cup of the venison chili with cornbread... Amazing! Even she liked it (she hates wild game) and said the cornbread was the best she's had in a restaurant. She had the New York strip (medium rare) and seasoned fries. The steak was cooked to perfection and tasted delicious. The fries were flavorful and crispy. The side of brussel sprouts were equally as delicious. I had the blackened catfish and shrimp with roasted Cajun corn. The seafood was seasoned very well and had a slight char to them. The corn was fresh off the cob and mixed with red peppers and other veg... delicious. Did I mention that the food was delicious? For dessert we tried their chocolate chipotle cake and the bread pudding both with a scoop of iced cream. Both were some of the best desserts we've had! Came here on a Saturday night and was surprised that it wasn't packed, which was nice. My family and I started off with mini elk tacos and ceviche. The mini elk tacos were amazinggggg, we loved them! The ceviche was okay, not the best and the chips it came with were stale. I had the prime rib with chimichurri rice and broccolini, the prime rib was nothing special, lowkey overrated, and the sides were just average. My brother had the western burger which was pretty good, it was sweet and had good flavor. My dad had the meatloaf with green beans and mashed potatoes, the meatloaf was okay, mashed potatoes were good, and green beans were just your average greens. We ended off the night with the pecan pie and the homestead cake, this was the highlight of the whole dinner. The flavors from these desserts were amazing and we all loved them. Overall I do recommend the mini elk tacos, western burger, and the desserts, but the others I would not suggest getting them. read more

Welp, they did, and then some. Call me picky, but for me, a fountain drink out is a rarity, because they never get the mix right, plus, I love water with lemon. This time I decided to go for a Dr. Pepper. Gee uh EEzuss. Nailed it. This was as if Dr. Pepper himself was mixing up a fresh batch. This was old school bottle tasting DP. Amazing aspect to the meal. We sat outside in the breeze at a cozy table.. The terf was clean, the table spotless. The server was friendly, informative, upbeat, and on top of her game. Made some great suggestions. This was my first time at this restaurant and it was quite the experience! Beautiful interior, great food, friendly staff. Ambiance: All different kinds of lighting from dim lighting to natural sunlight. All kinds of seating from inside (table chairs, high tops, booths) to outside tables and chairs. She constantly checked up on us and ensured that our dining experience went well which I really appreciated. Onion ring (appetizer): It looks aesthetically pleasing and tastes super good too! There were thick cut onion rings stacked up on top of each other. It was nice and crispy but the batter itself wasn't too special. The chipotle ranch was a classic and the ketchup had a little kick flavor to it too! Chicken fried chicken: The chicken wasn't really crispy but it was very juicy inside. It had really good flavor but the gravy didn't have as much flavor to it. The mashed potatoes it came with were just incredible. Lots of whipped butter and salt which just makes everything taste better. The green beans were seasoned perfectly and also very yummy but a tiny portion. Bread pudding: This dessert was so tasty but Id say the bread pudding itself was a little more on the chewy side. But it had such a good flavor to it. I ordered the Chicken Fried Chicken and my coworker ordered the Cadillac Burger with seasoned fries. 5 stars all around - chicken seasoned well and the jalapeño sausage gravy was perfect. Green beans were fresh and delicious. Sort of an upscale western vibe but I could see it for a date night as well. Well lit and anything although it was pretty busy the noise level was great.
