I had a great time at Pappas in Dallas on a Saturday night. Service was 100% in effect and ran like a well oiled machine. I had reservations for a party of 3. Two of us were seated at a table on time and we had drinks while waiting for the 3rd person. That 3rd person arrived with 2 more guest. Without any issues, our new party of 5 was moved to a larger table to accommodate everyone. We all had a great time. We communed, joked, laughed, and ate hard, It was one of those rare moments in life worth appreciating. Everyone's food arrived correctly as ordered and was fantastic! The porterhouse was perfect with a lovely crust, pink center, and savory seasoning. It melted away as I chewed each bite. This is the kind of steak one longs for in life and will quench that carnivorous desire once consumed. There were plenty of sides for all of us to share. As strange as it may seem, the turtle gumbo stood out the most and was a winner. It came with some sherry on the side to mix in. The complex flavors after one spoon that surrounded the tongue was so stimulating. The asparagus was fresh, seasoned well, and had a snap to it. The skillet potatoes were so savory and had a flavorful crust on some of the pieces. The mashed potatoes were dense, creamy, and slightly rich. Last of all was the mushrooms which were stellar. Hats off to the staff for such a marvelous presentation and treating us superbly.

This is by far one of my favorite steakhouse restaurants. The service is exceptional and the food is delicious. The restaurant is beautiful and would highly recommend. We had the lobster bisque and scallops to start the meal. The lobster bisque was a well seasoned and they add pepper to the dish table side if you want. The scallops were perfectly cooked and the flavorful juice/butter soaked into the bread. The whole dish went well together and definitely got my appetite ready. The ribeye was well marbled and cooked to a perfect medium rare. We had the onion rings, potatoes au gratin, and mushrooms. All the sides completed the meal perfectly. I would highly recommend the potatoes and mushroom sides.

Thursday night dinner with coworkers We had a private room for our group of 17. Favorite appetizers: crab cakes - jumbo lump crab sent from heaven above. Battered and fried to perfection. Not too much breading. Meal: broiled salmon fillet. Cooked med well, nice sauce on top and 3 jumbo shrimp. Not sure why they cant have a shrimp dish at a steak house when they clearly have shrimp. I really cant eat steak. The salmon was good and filling and especially with the apps and sides. We also got sides of au gratin potatoes, lobster deviled eggs and lobster mac and cheese. I like how they deconstruct the deviled egg and allow you to fix your own. I need to go back and get more crab cakes. I could have built a meal of apps and sides too. The place was busy as it was Thursday night, service was really good.

A traditional classy American steakhouse never goes out of style. Everyone in Dallas is familiar with Pappas Steakhouse and there's a lot of hype around it, all for good reason. This is situated between 2 highways and a few other sister restaurants. There's valet and regular parking - walking in, it feels like a fancy and high class experience already. We were seated immediately and our waiter was quick to stop by. He was excellent and clearly has been in high class hospitality for decades. The bread they bring to the table is an entire little loaf, it's served steaming hot. Soft and airy on the inside and crunchy on the outside. We skipped appetizers and had a filet, ribeye, and lobster Mac n cheese. The filet... so so so delicious. The ribeye was fantastic too. They're cooked so simply you can tell the cut of meat is truly the best quality. One of the best filets I've had. The Mac n cheese was good - not too rich or cheesy. We were celebrating so our waiter brought by dessert and let me tell you, the cheesecake could serve 4-5 people. HUGE. Very delicious though. Overall, highly recommend. Super classy, traditional steakhouse experience with excellent service.

A steakhouse is an American institution like no other. It's a true experience of purity and beauty of meat that has now spread around the world. Pappas, like many stories in America, is a story of immigrants. Founded by a Greek family with the first location in Houston in 1995 and expanding to Dallas in 1998, passed down from one generation to the next. Thus, this location has now a historic spot in the dining scene of Texas. It is incredibly popular and for great reasons. The filet mignon was perhaps the best out there. Flavorful and tender, cooked just right. It's a steak to remember without doubt. With a backdrop of piano music and an excellent Gigondas, this was a genuinely incredible dinner. From Simon the sommelier to our waitress, people were attentive and sharp. Pappas is everything that a steakhouse should be.

I walked over here for desert after getting dinner at Pappas Cantina across the street. Incredibly nice restaurant. Service was superb at the bar. You can tell they were professionally trained. The ambiance was crazy high end and white table cloth. Do NOT come here unless it's a special occasion or you are rich. This is one of the nicer restaurants in Dallas. The desert was delicious. The smores cake was probably in my top 5 of all time! HUGE! The deserts are HUGGEEEE. You can share them. They have a meat case with good looking prime cuts. I will definitely be trying those next time.

Main course - Filet Duo - several at our table commented that they would order this on their next visit ! So delicious !

The service was good and attentive and the food was pretty good also! For the price it should be delicious! For example, the octopus appetizer was $27- but worth every penny! 4 1/2 years ago since our last visit, and hopefully it won't be so long until the next visit!

My boyfriend whisks us away to surprise dinners and this was one of them. He made a reservation on my open table account, I don't think we needed one- there were a lot of available tables when we got there (around 8pm on a Friday). Immediate impression was the warm greetings, which continued throughout dinner service and everyone who crossed paths with us. You're treated like the most important person in the building. The hospitality is overflowing. The ambiance is nice, unfortunately I had my back to the view so I didn't really get to take in much besides a corner. (Nobody's fault except my must-face-the-door dinner date). What I walked past seemed lovely. We were fully informed about every aspect of the menu, and any questions we had were answered confidently. They have in-house Master sommeliers for wine selection (the catalogue of options was formidable). I had an old fashioned with dinner (Basil Hayden) and an espresso martini for dessert, both delicious. I ordered the grilled double lamb chops and a side of the jumbo lump crab bearnaise that goes on the lamb medallions. It was perfect. All of it. For our side (large and shareable) we ordered the creamed spinach- a recommendation from our waiter, Chase- he wasn't wrong. For anyone to whom it matters- I stopped by the ladies room on my way out and it was immaculate. All in all it was a very nice experience for no occasion and it would completely be suitable for a celebration of any sort. TLDR: Great food, amazing staff, would come back again.

Holy crap. I think this was the best meal of my entire life. Wait staff was incredibly good, the sommelier was very helpful and super friendly. Every food item was delicious. The octopus carpaccio was so good (very olive heavy which I love), the ribeye was perfect, super tender, fat well rendered. The onion rings are super good, but be warned they are a little spicy. The mashed potatoes were awesome, creamed spinach great. We got crème brûlée for dessert which was glorious. They also do a great espresso martini with a bit of a spin (I think they said they use a milk stout instead of kahlua?). The restaurant itself is super nice, very old school cool. One thing that was a little lackluster was the mushroom soup. Wouldn't bother with that one. But still an insanely good meal.

Excellent service! Everyone that works here is very nice and knowledgeable about the menu and the restaurant. We came here to celebrate a birthday and it did not disappoint. The steak was amazing! Especially the dessert, I have a sweet tooth! It was even comped bc of the birthday!! Way to make us feel so special! One more thing, the fries were HUGE!!!! It actually reminded me of Jenga lol. It's a great place for a meeting or a celebration. Would definitely come back to try more on the menu! You will leave not disappointed and stuffed!

Downright amazing. Every time we come here I wonder if I've hyped it up in my mind. Nope, still amazing. Service. Food. Everything. It doesn't matter who is waiting on us, they are fabulous. We've had the wine cellar tour and that's just something. We lovvve wine so it's something special. The filet is just about the best you'll find. Get the mushrooms - so good. All the desserts - sugar heaven. Also, ordering a cappuccino or latte after dinner is a must. It comes with a biscotti, which just might be the highlight of your night. No joke. LOVE them so much, I might go home with 4-5.

The wasabi one was our favorite. You must order the crab cake! My husband got the ribeye rare and said it was the best steak he has had, and he eats a ton of steak. I got their off menu item of carne asada tacos. The meat was sooooo tender. They don't use flank steak they use a tenderloin and it just melts. The mushrooms were Devine. Glad I ordered the carne asada. The adult Mac and cheese was good but just good. Brussels sprouts were good (not the best I have had) but I think I was also just so full by this point. The asparagus is huge!!! Oh the best finisher ever- the peanut butter pie!!!! OMG!!!!!!!!!! I'm not even a dessert girl and I couldn't stop eating it. I loved seeing the steaks and oysters beautifully displayed, and the open kitchen was such a nice touch -- watching the chefs in action added to the whole experience. Our waiter was phenomenal -- super accommodating, attentive, and made us feel like VIPs all night. We shared the cowboy steak ($72) sliced for two and WOW... perfectly cooked, juicy, and packed with flavor. Every bite was a moment. The sides to choose from ranged between $16-$18 We ordered the creamed spinach and it was rich and delicious. The wedge salad was fresh and satisfying. The corn brûlée? A crowd favorite -- everyone at the table was obsessed! The only miss for us was the mac and cheese -- good texture, but it didn't leave a lasting flavor impression. What truly made the night special was the energy -- the experience felt personal, warm, and inviting, making it the perfect place to celebrate my sister's 30th birthday. Wicked Butcher didn't just serve a meal... they created a memory. 10/10 would recommend for celebrations, date nights, or when you just want to feel fancy and fed.

Food - 4 Service - 3…read more Ambiance -4 Went on a Tuesday night while visiting from out of town and decided to give this place a try. The restaurant was practically empty, so we sat in the bar/lounge area. The host and other staff were friendly. Our waiter came off a little smug at first and barely cracked a smile. He honestly seemed a bit annoyed that he had to wait on us, which felt very unfriendly. My friend managed to get him to loosen up a bit as the night went on though, so maybe that's just his personality. To his credit, he was very informative when it came to the main course options. The lighting was dim and intimate. Ambiance was simple and modern. I ordered the sea bass and my friend ordered the beef Wellington. Honestly, after tasting my fish, he ended up enjoying my sea bass more than his own dish. The sea bass was like butter, just as the waiter described it. If fish could fall off the bone, this one would have. It came with rice, cashews, and a ginger miso sauce. The cashews added a really nice crunch and texture and the flavors worked really well together. I thoroughly enjoyed it as b the only downside was the portion size. Like a lot of nicer restaurants, you get one small piece of fish... about the size of my pinky finger. My friend's beef Wellington, on the other hand, was just okay. He didn't say it was bad, but it definitely didn't stand out, especially compared to the sea bass. We also ordered potatoes as a side and the white truffle Caesar salad. The salad was good and the truffle flavor wasn't overpowering, which I appreciated. The potatoes were solid too and paired well with the meal. Dessert, unfortunately, was not it! We ordered the Wicked Sundae. Our waiter had actually recommended the banana pudding or the chocolate tart, but we decided to try something else. We probably should've taken his advice. The sundae tasted mostly like ice cream and was missing the main part of the dish -- the brownie. Nothing to run home about, and it also happened to be the most expensive dessert on the menu. Definitely not worth it.

Thankfully, that is NOT the experience I had at Haywire! I ate here on August 9th, 2025 and enjoyed everything about it. I was with a large party but would love to return for a more intimate experience. On this Saturday, my younger cousin was graduating from Parker University so I was in town for the weekend. At around 1pm, I was one of the first to arrive at the restaurant. Unfortunately the parking is a bit confusing. There was construction being done on the same street when I went but there's a parking garage for customers that's difficult to navigate AND the elevator that connects wasn't operating at the time which was an issue for many (but not me, I got a good spot & walked). My party hadn't all arrived yet so I took a gander. Upon entering the tall doors, the space breathes southwestern elegance: wooden structure, leather seating, separate dining areas with highlighted ranch-style art. The abundance of space gives it an open-concept feel. The lighting fixtures are modern, the space was dim but not too low, with an option to utilize the large windows also. I was quiet impressed at the overall presentation. When my party did arrive, I wanted to keep it simple so I ordered the Chicken Cobb Salad and a Hibiscus Haze with Vodka. The table shmoozed as we ate some of the appetizers: the Crab Dip & Green Tomatoes, both amazing. The food did take some time but, considering it was 10-12 of us, that's expected. The Hibiscus Haze was splendid: smooth & flavorful, a great concoction. Cobb salads are usually pretty thick but this one was HEARTY. It came in a large bowl stuffed with the all the toppings. The dressing it was tossed with was well balanced but could've used a tad bit more. With some pepper & a little ranch, I was set! I defeated the salad but it also left me stuffed to the gills. Satisfying meal that I would order again! There are tons of restaurants to dine at in Dallas & sometimes you never know which is worth your time. Despite the inconvenience of parking, I'd bet my bottom dollar that this is a good place to eat. Whether you want a fine dining experience, it's a special occasion or just want a good drink with a meal, Haywire has enough to satisfy all interests.

We were asked to wait. Waited maybe 5-10mins. No biggie, A lot of open tables were available for immediate sit down. Again that wasn't a big deal. I had asked for a booth & wanted to sit in front room. The hostess said no a problem. She handed us off to a younger hostess and she took us to a table. I told her I had requested a booth. In the front room only 3 tables were occupied. I pointed out the booth and she said that's for party of 6. However, we could have the 1/2 table/booth. Made absolutely no sense because that was for a party of 6 as well. I made this comment & she just stared at me without saying a word. I didn't want to seem difficult and took the table as she just walked away. Kev was confused as we were. No good communication skills. It was an awkward encounter. The restaurant wasn't busy at all & never was whole time there. Kev wasn't sure why she didn't move us a requested & was puzzled himself. However i apologized to him & explained I wasn't trying to be difficult, but prefer booth sitting and most times we will wait for one. We left at 1:45p and restaurant was no busier than when we arrived. Reservation/Booth or not! I guess saying all of this, your front staff need to have more people skills when dealing with your customers. They are the face and first point of contact. Again Kev was amazing & food was outstanding!

This was roughly 6 hours after consuming seafood from this establishment. The frustrating part is we actually sent one of the 2 dishes back reporting to staff it had a strange odor/taste and was told we weren't familiar with lobster taste (being from NY this is untrue). My MIL was too embarrassed to send hers back so she ate her entire plate and my husband had about 1/4 of his before exchanging it for an alternate dish. As an emergency service provider I fully understand medical incidents like this can happen anywhere, but what prompted this review was way the situation was handled following my reporting. After reporting the incident to management we were met with what felt like an aggressive line of questioning about the members of our medical team and related details. I was told the incident would be escalated to upper management and the team would reach back out, but this never happened, even after a follow-up email. So, it's safe to say after spending a significant amount of money on what was supposed to be a special evening, the entire experience left a very bad taste in our mouths. At the very least, I would have expected some sort of gesture of goodwill or attempt to make the situation right -- even something as simple as a gift card or invitation to return for a better experience. Unfortunately, that never happened. Based on this experience, I would not choose to return and cannot recommend Drake's to others.
