These guys are great! I phoned them up minutes before coming in, and Jordan at the Kedzie location took care of me immediately upon arriving. He was pretty quick with taking care of my keys, and was very courteous while completing the task. Got me some water, pleasant conversation. If I'm ever locked out, I'll guarantee call these guys. Thanks!! They also had sour cream and onion Pringles, and that's the best flavor. So they're clearly trustworthy. read more

Today it is -20 degrees before windchill. I went to take my dog outside and the moment I heard the door latch behind me I realized my keys were just inside the door sitting on the entertainment center. Luckily one of my neighbors was passing by and let me call a locksmith on his phone. 20 minutes later Josh showed up in his clearly marked van with an arm full of tools! 2 minutes later he had popped open the door without causing any damage. I cannot thank Josh or The Professional Locksmith Team enough for their efforts in keeping myself and my dog safe from the cold. He was polite and great to talk to as well, helping keep the situation calm around my dog. On top of all that, they didn't take advantage of the situation and charged me a reasonable rate. If I need a locksmith again I know exactly who I will be calling. read more

Joe S was on time and did a good job re-keying multiple doors. He also came up with a good solution when one of the doors couldn't be re-keyed with its current handle. Thanks! read more

I am so happy I stumbled upon the Chicago Locksmiths! They are my new go to and I have already recommended them to a friend! Our professional, Bobby, was fantastic! He educated us on our options, and took the time to go over all the details. He is patient and personable. We really enjoyed working with them! read more

Excellent! I locked myself out this afternoon rushing to get nowhere. First and and foremost they arrived in 10 minutes to help me out. Bobby came to my rescue. He was very nice and polite and willing to help me anyway he could without drilling my lock. Just so everyone knows, to drill a lock would be about 200 bucks or alittle over than that! He just kept picking it to avoid that at all cost because he wanted to save me money. On top of it the company honors yelp coupons to save customers money so ask them about that during your service! Also ask for Bobby! read more

I needed my personal box changed and I picked this company because they were the cheapest of the private locksmith companies and they had a locksmith immediately ready to come to my building and change the lock. I bought my own mailbox lock from home Depot and the locksmith completed his work in 20 min. read more

Joe was professional, friendly, and fast! Can't ask for much more. Also the woman who answered my phone call was efficient and very kind. She was also very responsive and made sure to call me to update me on arrival time of the locksmith. read more

Edward, was nothing short of amazing! Difficult lock and he cracked it in less than 15 minutes. Also great conversation and knowledge shared while working diligently. I can not tell you how quick and easy and friendly this whole process was. Well, not the being locked out of the apartment part, but everything after calling The Professional Locksmith. We were locked out of the apartment on a Saturday night and called a cheap locksmith. He took about 2 hours to reach (after promising to reach in 20 minutes) and then tried to get us in for about 40 minutes with no luck (how shocking, should have guessed this from the low pricing, no guarantee policy, and his lack of any professional attire, unless you call saggy jeans and exposed boxers professional attire). Anyways, on Sunday morning, still locked out of the apartment, we called The Professional Locksmith and they sent us someone (his name is David) in about 6 minutes. He was nice, friendly, and productive. It took him about 2 and a half minutes to get us through the door! The price was fair and the hassle free entry back home was priceless! And he was dressed professionally, which helped us feel better about someone helping us break in :-P . Though I swear to always check for keys before leaving home again, i swear I will never, EVER call a different locksmith EVER again! These people know exactly what they're talking about and don't add stress to an already stressful situation! David was absolutely amazing and left absolutely no damage to the door, the trim, or the lock. He was fast and made great small talk, he explained everything he was doing, and he really helped us feel confident and at ease. Trust me, if you ever need fast, friendly, reliable, and quick service, The Professional Locksmith is the best! Ask for David if you can. All in all, amazing end to an otherwise horrible experience. Thanks, The Professional Locksmith!! We will be forever loyal!!!! read more

Imagine being 8,000 miles away from home on vacation in Africa and hearing from your house/pet sitter that he's locked out of your apartment, which means your fur babies went over 24-hours without food & water. Desperately, we reached out another building mate for help, and she contacted The Professional Locksmith team. Heather, from the office, texted with me to confirm ownership/residency, facilitate the appointment set-up (within 30 minutes of talking!!!), and help with digital payment options. Our building mate was on-site to meet TPL owner, who helped with this job given the urgency. Within 5-10 minutes, everything was fixed and accessible. The stress of this ordeal was made so much more manageable with this company. They were empathetic, problem-solving, courteous and efficient. THANK YOU 1,000 TIMES AGAIN! read more

All I wanted was to have two doors rekeyed so that they would use the same key. The locksmith arrived and determined it was not possible to do this without an entire lock upgrade. I took a pass since both locks worked. I was charged $45 for the service call. read more

We just used The Professional Locksmith for a new intercom plate and some welding on our front gate. Everyone we worked with was great! Customer service reps followed-up a few days after we got our estimate and they offered to match any lower quotes we received (which we did and they matched it. They were also offering and able to do the additional welding work that the other company wasn't able to do). We had an issue with our intercom speaker after it was installed and they came back immediately to fix it at no additional charge. I definitely recommend them! read more

3 stars for incorrectly troubleshooting my intercom but refunding my money. Tech was a nice guy, everyone else I interacted with ended in a frustrating customer experience for me. read more

A+ job by Avishay and Bobby and Professional Locksmith! Avishay was quick to respond when I asked for a quote and remained professional and engaged until all my questions were answered and we were ready to have his locksmith come onsite. Once Bobby(locksmith assigned to my job) got the dispatch, he called me right away to verify my address and let me know when to expect him. He arrived when promised, was professional, and got my safe open in under an hour... Great job! Excellent work, Professional owner and locksmiths, quick, good pricing. Will definitely call on Professional Locksmith again when I have locksmithing needs in the future. read more

My wife and I just lost our apartment to a fire. We were fortunate to find an apartment for rent right across the street. That said, I needed to make copies of our new keys for the new apartment and I went to this place not knowing what to expect. Heather and a couple awesome guys helped get my keys copied while I hung out in a chair to the side. Super calm, nice and respectful people. They took care of me and it went flawlessly. Thanks guys!! read more

I called these guys to break a bike lock and free up my husband's old bike as a father's day surprise. So they got the job done, service was prompt and professional, and that was great. But what stood out was the awesome trouble-shooting, and extra time and manpower it took - all while making sure my husband and kids didn't see them. Surprise is intact. Excellent experience. read more

They came out next day. On time and as advertised....completely professional. They did the job quickly and the new locks work great. Just moved with the Professional Moving Specialists and while hubs was supervising the move from the old house, I was at the new house with getting the essentials set up...one being the locks changed. Yay! read more

Avi is the man!!! Very rare you find people who take pride in their work any more, but this guy does!! Had him first change some locks for me in a brand new home I bought, immediately I could tell I was dealing with a quality guy and knowledgeable guy. Gave me advice on security upgrades without being a cheesy sales guy. Went out of his way to help me program two garage remotes as well, he was willing to help with whatever I needed. Had Avi come back and install a security camera system. The job took him much longer than he thought, because he wanted to do it the right way. He always is one call/email away if anything isn't right. Highly recommend using him for keys, locks, cameras...he's a stand up guy that does great work! read more

UPDATE: They called and said they would refund me half off for removing my review and giving them five stars. I declined. They never even acknowledged doing anything wrong and denied the driver was assigned to another job. It's no wonder they have so many five star reviews! read more

Super quick and wonderful to deal with. Avishay (Isaac) helped me out at a property I manage when an intercom panel was out and would not buzz: he was out within 30 minutes of my call. Completely reasonable service charge and super fast service to boot. My old vendor dd not even return my calls for two days. The postal lock still didn't work on the panel after the first request (in fairness, no locksmith has access to postal keys: only USPS) and Isaac was out in 30 minutes (again!), free of charge, to troubleshoot with the regular mail carrier. All is now 100% good! Total recommend and we will be switching our intercom vendor to The Professionals for the foreseeable future. Thanks again! read more

I originally contacted The Professional Locksmith because I had just booked moving services with their related business, The Professionals Movers. I had a fantastic experience with the movers and I was not at all disappointed by the locksmith. I requested a quote with the email contact form on their website (not through Yelp) for rekeying 4 locks on a condo I was in the process of purchasing. I asked for prices and whether they had appointments available two weeks later for the day after I moved in. I had a couple of minor communication delays with the email back-and-forth to make the appointment (I think one of my emails got missed, but they responded very promptly to my follow-up email two days later). But overall, it was a good experience setting up the appointment. The day of, I was definitely impressed. The office called to confirm my 1-3pm arrival window on the morning of, then the locksmith called for access to my building shortly after 1pm. He was polite and professional, wearing a mask (for COVID), and quick to complete the work. I hadn't realized until after he was done with the rekey and had me test the locks that the originals had been misaligned just enough to be stiff. They're smooth as butter now and feel like brand new locks. The invoice entirely matched the price quote (he gave me a $10 discount because I mentioned I used the movers, though, so mention that when booking if you're moving and changing locks like I did) and I was emailed a copy almost as soon as he finished processing my payment. There are probably cheaper locksmiths out there, but I have absolutely no complaints. The place I just moved into had some good-quality locks (not Kwikset), so at $35/lock it was cheaper to get them rekeyed than to replace them. read more

Our three flat condo building had several door and intercom issues that needed fixing. I called on a Friday afternoon and was easily able to schedule someone to come out the next day. Mario came on Saturday night and after walking him through the problems he quickly got to work. He fixed our buzzer system which had been unable to open our front door for months, moved the latching mechanism on our door so we no longer had to jam the handle to actually get the door to shut and fixed our storage room door that couldn't be locked without propping up the door first. Mario was professional, fast and wonderful to deal with. He solved all three issues in about an hour and didn't even charge us for the storage room door. Great company to work with and would highly recommend them! read more
