low grade cuts .. mostly knuckle pieces .. mostly fat .... they certainly trimmed the meat ... thumbs down

ordered online. It's not the driver's fault that it's taking close to two hours for delivery. The management has the settings on Uber set for over 14 miles of distance. My food arrived cold not tasty at all. the quality was poor . about 8 servings of rice (rice was the only thing warm ... gross i feel like i wanna throw up .. Very sad to see a business like this operating, I called the business. The front end and staff was very nice and friendly. Asked to talk to management and I was greeted by an angry man that doesn't even sound like a person who would be making barbecue this isn't a business to support shame shame shame.

Food that tastes and does not smell or look good.

I think I just received the worst possible order I ever have. To call this barbecue is a sin. I am so disappointed. I'm sitting here with this meal right in front of me... after a few tasting bites I can't share this. I cannot eat this. The ribs smell old. No seasoning. No flavor. The beans obviously came from a can. No seasoning... NO LOVE AT ALL. The cole slaw was chopped up and stretched out. I am in the restaurant business and I can't believe I'm sitting in front of this. I don't need a refund. I am not interested in a refund. I need this restaurant to know that they need to DO BETTER. This was awful. This was embarrassing. There was no care given at all to this meal. 5:23 arrival and I could not take another bite.

Wife and I were in the mood for some BBQ food and decided to try this place out. The tray itself is not that deep so there's not much rice even though it seems a lot. For the price being charged, I was quite surprised that it only came with two beef ribs. The rice was also on the bland side unfortunately. However, the chicken and the beef ribs were quite delicious. The chicken was not dry and was seasoned quite well. The beef was on the salty side and went well with the bland which was bland. We would return if we're in the mood for more BBQ.

The Pit BBQ Great place to get your barbecue and blackened meat, fish, chicken and wings. Their sides are very good as well. Ordered several times from them and the order and delivery have been on time. Everything I have ordered was good and flavorful. So check them out if you have a craving for Pit barbecue. They been pretty tasty with the food and has been consistently delicious. Food Service Ambience

Only someone who doesn't know BBQ would call this BBQ. This is just baked/roasted meat. No smoke flavor, no rub/seasoning, no smoke ring on the meat. With that said if you're not hoping for pit smoked open flame bbq like you would get in NC or Texas and just want meat then it's not bad. I should the have the chef over the next time I fire up the smoker. This is what Beef Ribs should look like. Who slices beef ribs horizontally? Only in NJ.

3 Stars because the food is actually pretty descent. I ordered from Uber eats and paid 18.00 for one beef rib a couple grains of rice and a few pieces of pork ribs. NEVER AGAIN..I was still hungry lol..pissed

For some reason I thought this place was closed but I read a post online saying it was open and I was craving some rotisserie chicken so decided to give this place a try and order delivery. Delivery was pretty fast, about 35 minute even though the website said it would be 45. It was so delicious and a lot of food for moderate price! We ordered the full chicken with rice and fries and a half salad. My kids gobbled it up and I loved it. Definitely looking forward to trying other things on their menu soon.

Although it was a bit crowded at the bar, service wasn't too bad. However, one of the book club members specifically asked for a drink without alcohol and ended up receiving a frozen lemonade with alcohol. So she left upset. As far as food: super mid. I was actually surprised when I cut into my fried chicken sandwich and it was a bit pink. The chef himself assured me the food was cooked but it just had that color because of the brine. Idk sounds like they should change the brine then. Loaded waffle fries were also kind of gross because there was so much oil. Seems like it's a place locals enjoy, I'm glad I'm not a local.

I ordered the Pineapple Express cocktail, super tasty and strong! For food, I went with the half order of beef brisket, fried chicken, mac and cheese, and cornbread. The fried chicken was stellar, juicy, tender, and full of flavor. Everything was solid, but that chicken really stood out. It's located in Lackawanna Plaza, which has a trendy, up-and-coming feel with several other eateries to explore. I'll definitely be back to try more from the menu and maybe check out the rest of the plaza while I'm at it!

I've had me some soul food in Mississippi and 'Bama, though at a fraction of the price you get up North. Look, it's a Montclair thing. Pluses: Black owned restaurant serving cultural staples, plus foods for people who don't want Southern. Ambiance featured soul music, and at one point was playing Shaft! I can dig it. You're not left wanting for food quantity or quality. Plenty of shrimp in the grits, for example. Server was very pleasant to talk to with a little Southern twang to her voice. Why not five stars: Flavor needs deepening. For example, in the South I'm used to seeing okra chopped and breaded before being fried. Maybe more oily that way, more carbs... but more flavor as a result. I had the pulled chicken mac, which was a bit smaller of a dish overall (a bit intentional on my part) - and while the cheese flavors run deep, the meat did not. Shrimp and grits, I took a quick sample of my friend's grits and... I bet you can guess my finding there. Still, a very nice change from the usual Northern selection of foods. I would not hesitate to say Sweet T's is authentic and a nice visit if you're in town. You'll be paying a pretty penny wherever you eat, so you can tag this one on your list.

Cornbread falls into that cafeteria-style category for me. We went on a Friday night and the restaurant was completely empty. I ordered the three-piece fried chicken with potato salad and cabbage. My friend had the oxtail with yams and collard greens. The fried chicken was flavorful and tasty, though I could tell it wasn't freshly fried--barely warm and not crispy, again, cafeteria style. The potato salad was really good and probably the highlight of my meal. The cabbage, however, had more onions and peppers than cabbage, which wasn't great. The cornbread itself was delicious but barely warm. I imagine it's really good straight out of the oven, but that's not what we were served. My friend did enjoy the oxtail. The collard greens were sweet but still good, and the yams were pretty decent. We ordered a peach cobbler to go because it sounded good, but once I got home it was very disappointing. The dough was barely cooked, and I could still see flour. If I had eaten it at the restaurant, I definitely would've sent it back. Service was great. The staff was friendly, we ordered at the counter, and they brought the food to our table. The space is small but has just enough seating. We were lucky to find on-street parking since we went late on a Friday night. They accept cash and all major credit cards. One small note: there are no bottled hot sauces, just small no-name packets, which weren't the best. We also had the sweet tea, which had a strange flavor--possibly honey--but it wasn't what I expected and I was no where near impressed. If you're expecting southern sweet tea, that's not what they have here. Pricing felt a little high for what's offered. Two dinners, two iced teas, and a very small peach cobbler to go cost us almost $70! Overall, decent food and friendly service, but for the price, I expected more of that true home-cooked soul food experience.
