My lady and I love the Ridgefield location. We finally decided to try the Montclair one the other day. We always get the Korean corn dog and usually the soy garlic wings. Was very glad to see the extensive menu at the Montclair location. Plus all the seating is a definite plus. Certainly an improvement on the 2 seater window counter in Ridgefield. Sadly it's where the advantage ends. The corn dog was more of the American fair variety with a stale crust. My girl did not enjoy the gizzards at all. She had one. I don't mind the tough texture as much as she clearly did. I do think the gizzards would benefit from being pressure cooked in order to tenderize them more. But I did enjoy the flavor overall (even though they weren't very spicy.) The wings were less spicy than the Ridgefield CM, but much greasier. The chicken itself was moist and fresh. Soy Tikku was flavorful, however the real seller was the crisp skin. The Spicy Garlic packed a punch, but the amount of heat was tolerable. The waffle fries and onion rings were plenty hot and fresh from the kitchen. Unfortunately, the dining room left much to be desired. The smoke alarm beeped incessantly, asking for the battery to be changed during the entire dining experience. While the staff's enthusiasm compensated for their lack of experience, the neophyte server could have benefitted from more training by more experienced members. Perhaps management tries to distract diners by booming KPOP tracks such as "Oopsy" by Weki Weki, over their speakers, but the decor did not match the vibe of the restaurant. I also partially attribute my lackluster experience to ordering the boneless chicken assorted flavors. I hate boneless chicken but didn't know it was boneless from the menu (menu is a bit confusing, all over the place). The perfectly crispy Tikku Garlic Soy (sweet and savory) Chicken Wings which were marinated, fried, then charcoal-grilled boasted classic flavors. Then we also enjoyed the Snow Onion Curry Chicken Wings which arrived with a huge pile of onions and curry sauce. Both of these dishes came with 8 big and filling wings and marinated daikon along with celery and carrot sticks with ranch sauce. Then the Red Hot (spicy but not the kind that kicks your ass) Gizzards were amazing and could be perfect as a snack. This place has been getting a lot of buzz lately, which can cut both ways - it may very well be worth the hype, but it just as often means it's overrated to some degree. Thankfully CM Chicken is more of the former. I stopped by here for lunch yesterday (a Friday afternoon). The restaurant was completely deserted save a handful of employees, and the fellow behind the counter seemed mildly surprised that I wanted to eat in (I got the impression from the customers who came in during my visit that this is almost exclusively a takeout establishment during weekday lunchtimes). It's a nice basement space that you access from the street via a flight of stairs - constructive feedback, that was starting to look a little rickety and could use an upgrade. The two TVs on the wall were airing K-Pop music videos, so if you don't like eating with Dance Dance Revolution music playing in the background, this might not be for you. I don't like bones in my meat unless it's ribs, so I opted for the soy garlic chicken tenders ($15 or $16). Very generous portion; I was pretty hungry coming in so I was able to devour it in one sitting, but you could easily make this into two meals. The flavor was amazing, and the meat itself extremely juicy/tender. I'm always slightly leery of Korean BBQ because it's so easy to feel disgusting after eating it (that's a genre that's never going to be mistaken for health food), but I walked out feeling pleasantly full and not uncomfortable. My recommendation would be to avoid getting any type of side with this - I'm sure a few extra bites here would have tipped the scales literally and figuratively for me. The food came out within five or 10 minutes, and the service was exceptional - it definitely helps that nobody else was in there, but the guy behind the counter/waiter was attentive without being overbearing and got the check for me probably within 30 seconds of consuming my last bite. The overall experience of dining here was good. The staff are friendly and willing to answer any questions you may have. The food came out pretty quickly and it was hot, which is a plus! The sides were my favorite out of everything we tried. I highly recommend the fried calamari and fried shrimp; the fried dumplings and cheese sticks were good too! The chicken was decent in that the wings were cooked well and not dry at all. However, the taste and texture aren't very authentic compared to other Korean fried chicken (KFC) I've had. The batter was thick, making the chicken feel heavy/greasy, which shouldn't be the case with KFC especially when it's double fried properly. Solid Korean fried chicken spot in the area. I'm a big fan of Korean fried chicken. We came based on the raving reviews. What was disappointing was the service. I'm not sure what happened but we came with a party of 10 and felt like during the whole time we were there, they did not check up on us. No refill on the water, no taking out the dirty plates, no checking on us to see if we like the food. Nothing. We had to go up to them to ask for everything. Two people from our party also arrived an hour late, it would have made sense if they checked on us to see if we needed to place more food order or if we needed anything else, but nope. We had to go up to them tell them we needed to order more food. The bowl of pickled radish you see is free with any chicken purchase I think. It's mildly sweet and you have to take a little much of radish with a little much of chicken or your korean card gets revoked. I think the chicken itself is pretty different than regular korean fried chicken. A casual yet trendy place in Montclair, CM Chicken was mouthwatering until the last bite! There's a nice outdoor area for dining in nice weather as well as plenty of tables indoors. Staff was attentive and helpful. The snow onion chicken was fried chicken smothered in raw onion in a sweet and tangy onion sauce, which was super addicting. My personal favorite was the tikku soy garlic chicken. With a hint of spice these wings made me keep coming back for more. We had sides of fried pork dumplings and curly fries. Stopped in at CM Chicken on Bloomfield Avenue in Monclair. Perfect for eat in , but I chose to take out. Very pleasant and accommodating staff. First time in there, they were very helpful in ordering . I thought I ordered the right amount of food, as it turned out, I have a bit of leftovers. Really fresh, quality food. Pleasantly surprised. Nice spice on the chicken and the chicken tenders. Quick turnaround for a pick up. Great staff, explosion of flavors. Next time I need to explore more items on the menu. read more

Move over Bonchon, there's a new Korean chicken spot on the scene. Great space. Friendly workers and seating is plentiful and not "fast food"y like some other chicken places previously name that shall not be named. Felt very comfortable and enjoyed sitting with my dining companion chatting and eating. Tried the spicy and tikku soy garlic. Excellent. Chicken is high quality and flavored and cooked perfectly. On another occasion (yes I ordered again before posting) had the fried shrimp which was great as well. Highly recommended and have ordered multiple times on Uber and DoorDash. read more
