First i want to say i came here on a saturday night few hours before a redbull game. I understand it gets busy and they have a separate menu for these days (less options and more expensive). But this should not affect the quality of their service... I ordered wings and a brisket bowl, both took an hour to be prepared. And when they arrived they were cold. It was ok tasting but not worth the prices and wait.
Really enjoyed this spot! The vibe of the restaurant was really cool and hip. Enjoyed the mix of the Korean and Mexican cuisines on the menu. We got kimchi fries, quesadillas, margaritas, chicken fried rice and tacos. Our waiter was great and extremely helpful. I would definitely recommend getting the chicken fried rice - great location, great food. Will definitely be back!
The wings here are billion stars if I could give it to them. They are the best you'll ever have. Crispy, juicy, flavorful. My only knock is that every time I come here the service is a bit lacking. Due to the way they make the wings, they do take a bit longer than normal to come out, but it is worth it.
1.3.23 I absolutely love & adore this place. The food has always been absolutely DROOL worthy delicious. The tacos are so succulent with flavor bursting from every direction. There was so much going on with the tacos and their flavor profiles i was in a food coma. The service and hospitality was amazing from the first day i started going here a few years ago. The owner actually has family here in Connecticut and comes here to Connecticut often. The food is always fresh. Cool vibe going on in the restaurant with a handful of this up on the wall. The best Korean tacos in the area by far. I've often stuck to similar orders with some of my favorites being the Bulgogi tacos, the spicy pork tacos and the kimchee tacos. I'm torn for my favorite between the bulgogi & kimchee tacos with the latter probably being the all time favorite. They definitely have a relationship with flavortown & their food. That's for sure. They usually have a taco special going on. On Tako Tuesdays they have any 3 takos for $10.00. A great deal. Their tacos are well worth the cost even without the Tuesday special they run. They are amazing. They are located very close walking distance to the Harrison train station. There's always people walking by to go catch the train or just coming off of it. Great location with phenomenal food, great prices and fabulous hospitality. I fully recommend this place to anyone. If you haven't been here you're missing out.
I was craving tacos and I love Korean food. I was curious if the concept of mixing Korean food and putting it into tacos. We decided to get take out. We got the fish taco, spicy pork, and bulgogi taco. My favorite is definitely the bulgogi taco. I'm not a huge fan of getting bulgogi on its own, but having it in a taco with other things in it as well was delicious. We also got the double crispy wings and they were so delicious. I loved how there's sauce left over and it's actually completely covered and not partial. Definitely will be coming back here whenever I'm craving Korean!
Food, service and ambience is still the same as always. Four (4) 's because management changed and last I was there I was charged $4 for ranch sauce for my wings. I was really taken atback by this when I saw the bill and the waiter did not notify me. Please take a look into this as this is not fared.
I'm a bit disappointed with this place honestly, especially with service. Food was at best 4 stars. It wasn't the worst Korean fusion food I've been had. But at the same time, they could improve. When you walk in, it's a very interesting place. It wants to be a Korean pocha, but it feels Mexican at the same time with the artwork on the wall. The best thing it had was the 90s K-pop playlist they had playing. Menu is super simple. But anything more complicated I don't think they could have handled. I was hoping for more to be completely honest. The soy garlic wings were extremely salty and very garlicky. So be prepared to have garlic breath for the rest of the night. And need to guzzle water too. The BULGOGI quesadilla was ok. Definitely on the sweeter side but could have been worse. The fries were pretty good. Service was at most a two star for me. I heard this place is under new management. So you'll have to be patient and give them time. Don't come here if you're pressed for time before the Red Bulls game. The manager herself literally has to watch over everything otherwise it falls apart. The table next to us stood up and left because no one came over to take their order. The manager had to do a lot of service recovery. They can't keep track of their orders and what table they belonged to. The guy receiving and delivering the food went to all the wrong tables with food and even came to us with more food meant for another table AFTER we had already paid. As someone who has worked in restaurants, I cringed at the disaster going down the drain. The waiter who was training was lost in the sauce and didn't know what to do with himself. The host also could have been way more helpful to the staff. The manager had to make all the drinks as the bartender too. Their systems did not work. So many things fell apart. The weirdest part was we were all served in takeout containers. They forgot to give us silverware and then proceeded to give us plastic ware. Forgot to give us plates for sharing our appetizers. Needed to ask for that too. We saw other customers going up to their stash of plastic ware to grab it themselves. Idk if they didn't have a dishwasher or something. But when we walked by on our way home after the game, all the tables were set up nicely with really silverware and plates.
Pretty good for a quick meal. I originally ordered the ramen, but it was way to spicy for me. Luckily my better half has an iron stomach. The bulgogi and kalbi tacos were very good. Two were just enough to feel satisfied. They also validate parking in the deck right behind restaurant.

The kitchen closes at 9:30PM so if you want to dine in, make sure you come before that. I ordered the Bulgogi Taco, Galbi Taco, and Pollo Taco. Each taco was around the price of $3-4.50. My favorite out of the three was the Bulgogi Taco because I like the shreds of kimchi that came with the the beef. Both the Galbi and Bulgogi were very juicy so eating them was probably the most difficult part since it's quite messy. The Pollo was not as juicy so if you order these three options, I'd highly recommend eating the Pollo first. I ate the Pollo last and it tasted very dry in comparison to the Bulgogi and Galbi so it was harder to finish. Overall, I enjoyed coming here and the tacos that I got. If you check in on Yelp, you get a free can of soda. Just make sure you show the waiter that you checked in and the reward for it.

Just like Carrie Brownstein questioned the anti-commercial purism that led her to skip "Friends" and "Seinfeld," I have doubted my anti-fusion rhetoric. So what if Takorea's motives include profiting from condo dwellers and soccer fans? It lowers the risk of sampling by offering inexpensive, modular options. I got four tacos on my inaugural order. Spicy pork was probably my favorite thanks to the gochujang sauce. There are multiple beef options; select galbi over bulgogi if you agree that kimchi is preferable to lettuce.
Korean style taco! They have great deal for happy hour! $2 taco , $2 shot, $5 alcohol drink! Happy hour is 4pm-7pm And they have unique korean flavor taco which is very delicious! We love spicy shrimp taco and galbi taco. Double fried wing with soy flavor was also so good! NOT RECOMMENDED guacamole and tako fries.
My boyfriend and I were traveling through stumped upon this restaurant. Our waitress was really friendly and the food was really good. It came out real fast as well.
What a concept - Taqueria = Taco Korea! Clean, well lit, open environment, offering plenty of seating and some fun selfie backgrounds. The service was respectful and kind. We ordered tacos (of course). Nick ordered the bulgogi tacos and I had a tofu taco and a bistec taco. Everything we had was exceptional. They also provide an amazing green salsa, but to be honest the tacos really don't need it, they have so much flavor! We are so glad we gave this place a try and recommend you do too! read more

Ordered for pick up on a Saturday evening. Estimated time for the food was 5-10minutes which was very fast. -Beef bulgogi: okay. Flavors are mild compared to other bulgogi's we have tried and the cheese was a little overpowering considering the mild flavor. -kimchi fried rice with galbi: good. Tasted a bit like teriyaki mixed with the pickled kimchi flavor. Overall the flavors were okay- good, but portions smaller than expected for the price of this casual eatery read more

Tried the Bulgogi and Beef tacos along with chips and guacamole at TaKorea near the Harrison train station. Tacos were very tasty and delicious as were the chips and guacamole. The only drawback was that the chips were not warm when we got them. Service was great, our server was very friendly and gracious. Tacos were a bit overpriced in my opinion but being that it's close to the train station and Red Bull arena, perhaps that accounts for the premium price. I would recommend this place and come again! read more

This is what I paid for: 4 tacos carnitas, 1 pollo quesadilla, 1guacamole /chips, 1 water & 1 beer. Tasteless food served in a take away foil plate with disposable plastic cutlery. Don't waste your time and money. Price gauging and horrible food. Beer is $13; guacamole and chips $17.99. Never coming back read more

I was craving tacos so me and my girlfriend decided upon Takorea BBQ. We had the chips and guac to start. The guac was very good but the chips were half fresh and half stale. The naked wings which are fried once with soy flavor were amazing! They were very crispy so I imagine the double fried are that much more crispy. We would've gotten those but didn't want to wait 30 minutes. For our mains we got the Beef bulgogi tacos which were super flavorful and fresh. The shrimp taco was refreshing and light but had great flavor. The only one we didn't like was the spicy pork - I think the gochujang sauce was a bit off-putting. Overall the service was quick, and the ambience was nice so we would definitely be back! read more

Options are limited in this part of town, so I'm rating this one on a curve. Takorea was one of my go-tos during an 8 month stay in Newark. The Double Fried Korean Wings are their signature dish. ..crispy corn starch battered wings doused in a sweet & spicy sauce. The Asian fusion tacos are pretty solid too. Happy Hour pricing on food and drinks M-F. It's right next to the train station, so they're crowded after work. The wait can be long even when they're not busy. Grab a drink at the bar and just wait it out. Pro Tip: Add a shot of brandy and/or tequila to the Sangria. Service is hit or miss. Don't make a special trip, but if you're in Harrison this is about as good as it gets. read more

I've ordered here a few times either from Uber eats or physically visiting the restaurant. On Ubereats their name is TAKO! so I was a bit confused at first but confirmed it's the same restaurant. My review is based off of the tacos and bowls that I've ordered here, although I have read other reviews raving about their wings, unfortunately I haven't ordered them yet. The tacos are just okay and the taco bowl I ordered with chicken, cheese, Mexican rice, corn and tomato salsa was mediocre. There was barely any cheese on my bowl and the rice was flavorless, hard, and grainy. I didn't enjoy it much. I have previously ordered the fish, chicken and shrimp tacos with their signature TAKO French fries. Similar to my experience with the burrito bowl, the tacos and fries were underwhelming. Although the food isn't what I expected, I would still visit here because the service is good and I haven't tried their infamous wings, which I'm excited about! read more

Delicious bulgogi taco with great flavors and texture. I'd like if it came with a spicy sauce or the cilantro sauce that came with the tacos though. The fries weee also really good with crispy outer and soft inner. One thing is that the water cups were very not clean with a big sauce smear along the whole cup; not sure how it was missed by dishwasher and waitress :( read more

Me and my Lover really enjoyed the food and the clean calm simple welcoming energy. We definitely recommend trying the wings, especially the Thai sweet chili Crispy wings. read more

Whoa I was not expecting too much from this place but it amazed me! Love the shrimp taco and bulgogi tacos. Very flavorful. The pork taco was dry so I wouldn't get that again. Also tried the bulgogi quesadilla and fries. yummmy! Meat still very tender and the quesadilla was awesome. The fries were also very good. Nice and crisp. Now what brings this down to the 4 is the service. OMG slow as hell. Our waitress was always standing by the kitchen never paying attention to the tables after taking the initial order. All the other wait staff was coming back and forth to the tables except her. On another note, ordered a pitcher of margarita when I arrived and that was not made until 30 minutes later. I came looking at the "bar" area and nobody was making anything. I definitely would come back to eat but I hope they get better service. Even the food takes 30+ minutes to come out it's ridic. They should offer free chips and salsa if everything takes so long. read more

It was around 7 p.m. on a Wednesday night when we ventured out here. They didn't have the meal was asked for nor the other option we chose either. That was a bit annoying, but, we still figured something out. Chicken nachos, carnitas tacos and double fried Korean wings. The wings were very good. Wings are hubby's thing and if he loved them, then they were great. I had a two, crispy, saucy and fresh. He chose the chili flavor which is always a great choice. The nachos were pretty okay but the chicken lacked moisture and flavor. They only put like a half teaspoon of shredded cheese in NACHOS. Which to me was crazy. The pico was excellent but a bit drier then expected. The tacos were nothing to rave about. read more

Looks overpriced for tacos?
They are filling. You can get 3 tacos for $10 and be full. So individually it seems expensive, but $10 for a meal isn't bad to me.
