I'm…read morea Texas girl so when I saw queso on the menu, I got excited but so sad that it was room temperature, almost cold and mind you, I ate at the restaurant. Flavor was good but why was it not hot, not even warm! The guacamole tasted good and fresh. The tortilla chips were my fav kind so happy about that. I also got a burrito and again, disappointed. At least it was hot but like 75% rice, 25% protein. No cheese, no crema and no salsa like the menu says and I think there was a teaspoon of pico de gallo in there too. I've never been to a Mexican restaurant where they don't serve you salsa on the side or on the table, this was crazy. Positives, the tortilla was good and so was the rice, both seemed homemade. But come on - this totally ruined my first experience.

Unfortunately, my order only included one bag of chips. This is the first time I've ever had an issue here, which is why this was disappointing. I hope this was just an off night, but I wanted to share the feedback so it can be corrected moving forward.

A lot of our go to spots have oddly gone out of business so this was a quick change up. The tacos were not only fresh but packed with flavor and huge for the price. You can't beat it. There is both indoor and outdoor seating.

Unfortunately, the food was a bit cold when I picked it up, not the type of cold as if the food has just been made in because it was sitting out it got cold, but rather the type of cold when they try to reheat something up. I got their tacos al pastor, and, unfortunately, they were not to my liking . The meat was very hard and not as tasty as I wish it would've been. My boyfriend got some enchiladas with rice and beans, and both rice and beans were cold. The service was very nice and they were very kind, which is why I'm giving them more than just one star. Unfortunately, this is at the lowest of my list of Mexican restaurants. I've tried in New Jersey.

They are the packaged ones and they didn't bother to warm them up. On top of that, they don't even double up. With the amount of toppings, those flimsy store-bought packaged tortillas don't hold up. I get this isn't authentic but at least invest in a thicker cut tortilla if homemade is too big of a task. And warm them up. The buttermilk chicken itself with the sauce was good but the jerk chicken went in the trash. There is nothing jerk about it. No condiments, no spice, all flair.

Folklore has nice taco options for vegetarians. The hibiscus (flower) taco with slaw was so good. It's flavorful and hearty, and a satisfying meat alternative. We also tried the mushroom-spinach tacos with onion and cilantro; next time I would try this one with the slaw or ask for hot sauce or something to spice it up because it's fresh and good, but it paled in compared to the flavors of the hibiscus tacos. It's fresh ingredients and you can tell they make an effort in preparing, so I would still give it a higher rating. My husband had the veggie burrito bowl. He said it was filling, but did not have a variety of veggies. I suspect that meat bowls are really good. It could have also been that we ordered towards the end of the night. He said next time, he would get the hibiscus from Folklore. Chips and guac were a good side to share. Freshly made and tasty. Also I liked how they were packed in a red and white plaid food boat

I am quite disappointed with my UberEats order. Here's what…read moreI ordered: Short rib tacos - weird that it had a sweet bbq sauce to it...not what I was expecting and no where does the description include it. It wasn't too bad but the fact that a piece of bone was in my tacos made it all the worse (pic included). From 3-stars to 2-stars. Avoid. Al pastor burrito - I just don't know why it tasted so dry. I tried rotating it so each bite would incorporate all the different components of the burrito but overall, just disappointing. Maybe not enough guac/pico? 3 stars Additionally, I asked for extra salsa but was only given the standard one small cup included with the tacos. Extra salsa would've helped on the burrito so not getting extra salsa was a bummer. Still looking for great Mexican food in the area...have yet to find it and this place most surely wasn't it. Without the snafus, I would rate this place 3 stars. But the bone fragment in my tacos + not providing extra salsa as requested...gotta drop it another star.

But honestly, in general, this feels much more like a place you order from for takeout or through Uber Eats or another delivery app. They have an agave bar and they've tried to make the place feel more like a restaurant, but the food itself just isn't that appealing to me. There are a few things that are decent, but overall, I wouldn't choose this place for a sit-down dinner. For me, this is more of a takeout/delivery spot than a restaurant I'd go out of my way to visit. PD their churros are good !!
