The restaurant wasn't busy, yet the food arrived cold, unseasoned, and completely disappointing, especially for a bill totaling $110. After waiting 20 minutes, our server returned to tell us there was no pulled pork... at 5 PM... during dinner service. How does a smokehouse run out of pulled pork before the evening rush? It didn't stop there. We ordered corn on the cob, but was served cornbread instead. When I asked about it, I was told the cooks "it'll take to much time," so we substituted mac and cheese for an extra $2. What arrived was flavorless, watery, and honestly it was embarrassing for a place that used to pride itself on BBQ. Between the cold plates, missing menu items, lack of flavor, and the overall indifference from the kitchen, this visit felt like a complete waste of money and time. But wait it gets better! After receiving the check, it displayed happy hour! Happy hour? We weren't informed upon entry, as we exited I told my partner I wanted to inquire about happy hour. Would have changed our dine-in experience. I'm sad to say it, but after this experience, I won't be coming back.

The service was very nice, it's a family run business and they got out entire order correct which included several platters and the three of their delicious homemade lemonade, strawberry limeade and the blue raspberry lemonade. The establishment is very cute and cozy on the inside, very clean as well. Although it was a bit crowded at the bar, service wasn't too bad. However, one of the book club members specifically asked for a drink without alcohol and ended up receiving a frozen lemonade with alcohol. So she left upset. As far as food: super mid. I was actually surprised when I cut into my fried chicken sandwich and it was a bit pink. The chef himself assured me the food was cooked but it just had that color because of the brine. Idk sounds like they should change the brine then. Loaded waffle fries were also kind of gross because there was so much oil. Seems like it's a place locals enjoy, I'm glad I'm not a local.

I ordered the Pineapple Express cocktail, super tasty and strong! For food, I went with the half order of beef brisket, fried chicken, mac and cheese, and cornbread. The fried chicken was stellar, juicy, tender, and full of flavor. Everything was solid, but that chicken really stood out. It's located in Lackawanna Plaza, which has a trendy, up-and-coming feel with several other eateries to explore. I'll definitely be back to try more from the menu and maybe check out the rest of the plaza while I'm at it!

It literally was the little things that made this such a great experience. He held the door open for a customer carrying a lot of bags and who was struggling to open the door, handed us a paper towel after we each used the restroom (also it's a basic bathroom but clean!!), and this was THE icing on top: moved us to the other side of the small room because he said the wind draft would hit us when the door opens. He came over to talk to us because he said it can only be a good or bad thing if customers were quiet when eating the food. Well food was great and he was so friendly and shared a bit of his family's experience and history with food. Food wise we ordered the soup of the day (chicken), garlic shrimp, salmon, and beef rib. Also had some local Portuguese sodas. The salmon truly surprised me because it was crispy and tasty!! He also mentioned it's a BYOB and liquor wine store was across the street. Love this place.
