You wouldn't even know there's a restaurant just walking by. It's a tiny entrance and a lot of surrounding construction. It's not the nicest looking restaurant but it's clean, the service is decent, and the food is delicious. This restaurant is great for large groups who enjoy sharing food. They serve large dishes which feed up to 8 people. I got the pina colada to drink, it had no alcohol. It was such a delicious smoothie. For appetizers we got the empanadas and the choripapa. We tried 3 different kinds of empanadas, all were delicious but my favorite was the chicken. The choripapa was a bed of fries topped with chorizo and sauces. Their fries were so delicious and crispy I feel like they could serve anything with them and the whole meal would be delicious. For the main we ordered a shareable beef steak combo (for 2). This plate was huge! And it smelled amazing. It came with rice, fries, plantains, beans, beef steak, eggs, pork sausage, and pork crackling. The meats were perfectly grilled and all the extra sides had good flavors. I had never tried pork crackling before, it was so hard to bite into but it tasted really good. Everything is solid with the food. One thing to keep in mind is that if you pay cash, you pay just the price on the menu. However, if you decide to pay credit card, it seems like they added a service charge to their "tax total" I ordered something that was 40$ and somehow the tax was 4.25$ which makes it closer to 10.6% tax. In NJ sales is at 6.625 which should've been 2.65$ tax. I know they're getting screwed by the credit card company for their using their service but at least let the customers know that they're passing the charge onto the customer instead of subtly putting a "tax total" Additionally 4% additional charge is more than the standard 3% charge that most credit card even charge. I'll keep coming back but next time with cash. read more

Do not give this place a second thought. It was DELICIOUS. Our waitress attending us was very sweet and kind and was able to make a suggestion for us for a better deal. We got the whole order of the pork rib and beef rib and every bite was to die for. The plate comes with the house spicy sauce and that was a PERFECT combination for the meat. My partner and I have been living around the corner for years and cannot believe we have been missing out on this place. It's quaint and has a big screen tv in the dining room. Talk about bang for your buck! My family and I have been ordering from this place since we moved to Belleville 8 years ago! The thing we order religiously is the Mixto Platter that has a little bit of everything (chicken, ribs, steak, chorizo, pork, fries, rice, plantains) and feeds a small army. We feed 6 ppl with the 4 person platter, and it is about $26. I will say this is a takeout place for me, as the place itself is quite small and the parking is horrendous in that corner. You can get delivery as well, which does take long on the weekends so I tend to go pick it up instead. Also, a few people are mentioning rudeness, to say this place is busy is an UNDERSTATEMENT, so they tend to say hello on the phone very quickly and put you on hold as a lot if they are getting a ton of calls all at once - not in a rude way, just a bit short. If you go in person, they are VERY friendly and remember you EVERY time - also the smell of the grill will lure you in. With all of that said, I LOVE the grilled flavor of this place! They are Ecuadorian and have some traditional dishes like ceviche on their menu, as well as other Latin dishes from other countries. I usually order out because the dinning area used to be small but regardless I have always been treated with great friendly service. I generally order the mixed plate and it always serves more than what it states for. I paid $26 and fed 4 adults and still had left overs for dinner. The food is fresh with such great flavor. Upon receiving our order we noticed they didn't send plates, forks, knives or anything else except for the food in a foil plate; not even a menu. Is it too much to ask for napkins? We call the place back and the person who took the order says "you have to specify if you want napkins forks or anything else and we're not sending the delivery guy back just for that"... One of the best run, no nonsense Portuguese/ Brazilian wood fired, rotisserie meat spots in the area. It has a steady clientele, so I am surprised to be the first to review. I don't know anything about the pizza and was unaware they even had pizza as part of their name. Anyway, flavorful barbecue that is moist and never too charred or too smokey. Beans are really good and are what help put this place above other local grills. An order of 1 split chicken, 1 large rack of ribs and a large rice and beans feeds a hungry family of four with left overs. Street parking is tough as goes for any business on Washington Ave. The lot across the street is tempting, but not open to this establishment so you have to be willing to drive around and search, double park and run in, or walk a distance. read more

Downgrading my stars on this place. Hubby thought we should give them one more try and this time if we have the same issue explain how it makes no sense. So we ordered the same. Combo for 3 people and hubby goes to pick it up to make sure we get enough sauce. Same rude guy tells him yhay for more than one sauce it's 75 cent charge. Hubby proceeds to tell him this makes no sense as we are spending over 25 dollars for food and it's a combo for 3 people so we should get at least 3 sauces. The man says "it's business. Even if people order the 7 person combo they only get one sauce" and refuses to give him more than one sauce. It is AMAZING to me how bad the customer service is. We are in the process of picking up a tray of food for at least 3 people and you are going to insist on charging for sauce?? It's confirmed to me now how bad this place is. Ate here with my fiance recently and will not be going back. The food was mediocre, the shrimp in garlic sauce is a poor excuse for a dish. The dumping of unseasoned fries on top of yellow rice and shrimp is their way of filling up a plate. As we ate our veryy bland meals, instead of music we dined to the tune of the only waitress' speaker phone as she was on hold PAYING HER BILLS! ON SPEAKER PHONE! At that point we were the only people there, but it doesn't matter how many diners you have at a place, they are STILL PAYING CUSTOMERS! I have worked in the food industry in the back of the house as a line cook, and I have NEVER come to the front of the restaurant to stand and stare at customers eating their meals which is what one line cook decided to do for the final 15 minutes of our meal. It was very unpleasant to eat a mediocre dish while being scowled at, all the while listening to a girl paying her damn bills over the phone. It was infuriating! And on top of EVERYTHING, the first drink I ordered was served in a DIRTY cup. Pieces of black stuff floating around, I VERY politely pointed it out to the waitress, and she snatched the cup from my hand, came back 5 mins later with a new cup and placed it on my table, no eye contact and walked away. How about an apology? (BTW she never asked if we wanted refills, but thankfully did not charge me for that drink) That girl and I are the same age and race, why do I know what common courtesy and common SENSE are and she does not?
