My friend and I walked in on a Friday night right when the restaurant reopened for dinner (we were immediately seated!). Upon entering the restaurant, we were amazed by how beautiful the interior was. The dim lighting and minimalistic furniture made the space so visually appealing. All of our food was delicious. We ordered kimbap, pork belly (a little dry but still delicious), and jjapagetti (our favorite). The complimentary side dishes included kimchi, squash, and greens. I want to come here again to try more, including their mocktails.

We started with the Korean chicken sampler, it was tasty. Preferred the soy. I had what the menu described as "Thick slices of grilled pork belly". Well they were not thick and not very tender. The pork belly was served on a bed of raw onions. I would have eaten them if they were sautéd. My mate had the spiced pork & squid, he did not enjoy it. I love kimchi, however I just didn't like the flavor of what was served. We said we'll try again, a noodle, Tonkatsu or short rib next time.

Stumbled upon this place on a random Saturday night and I was blown away. I loved the aesthetic of the restaurant! It was cute descending the stairs with the string lights and projector screen upon arrival. We did a walk in, put our names down and were sat within 30 mins. We ordered a yuzu ade, mango ade, and a mocktail. We loved the lemonade drinks so much, but my friend didn't really care for his mocktail. We only ordered fried dumplings and a chicken sampler. There was more than enough kaarage for everybody, we got full and didn't order entrees but we will be back for more. I would definitely recommend this as a date spot or night on the town with friends. Great aesthetics but great food quality to match!

Ordered through ubereats buy one get one bibimbap and I'm so glad I did. Delicious, fresh, packaged well. Included a nice sipping broth for both and complimentary cold salads. I live for an amuse bouche. That was a nice surprise. I eat small frequent meals so it is enough for me to eat a few times. I look forward to dining in soon.

Nice spot on Bloomfield Ave Montclair located downstairs, so you know. Had a reservation and seated once we arrived. Place wasn't too busy when we arrived but packed as we were leaving. Be prepared because they bring out a lot of food on top of whatever you order. All of the food we had was on par. Some needed a little more spice, but that's just me. BYOB and liquor store is right up the block. No issues with the service. Very attentive. I will define back and Field Goal is good!!

    Yuzu ade - delicious

Took myself on a solo date on a Saturday night, walked in at 7pm and almost every table was full or had a reserved sign. She said it would take 20-30mins but literally sat me in 5 mins. Very cute restaurant, nicely lit and the outdoor area is super cute. Service was great and my server was attentive. I ordered the seafood jeon, nice portion even for a single person. Nice and crispy, good dipping sauce. The soft Tofu soup with beef, spicy 1 level was perfect. Just enough spice without being spicy. The yuzu ade was delicious and refreshing, and perfect for end of meal. When she brought my check she also brought me a chilled Cinnamon tea. I do not prefer Cinnamon but why was this delicious?! Prices are definitely higher then other korean restaurants but we are in Montclair. Hoping to go back to try more things.

Still figuring itself out. Came here for dinner with family who was visiting down out of town. They were Korean and wanted Korean food so we thought we would give this a try. The menu was pretty straight forward. banchan was kind of like a joke tiniest portions I'm talking like three slivers of kimchi. Upon arrival I asked about food allergies in a dish. I had to ask 3 more times to 3 people total one of whom was the manager and still didn't get an answer until the 4th time. I asked for a paper menu 3 times before we got it. Service 1/5 Nice, friendly, but really just clueless and there wasn't even the excuse of the place being busy. There were multiple staff members and we didn't have any unique requests. Food (4/5) Bimbimbap solid portion and my FIL seemed happy with it! (3/5) Kimchi soondubu also decent but a little too salty (4/5) Jinramen fried rice was clever and fun (3/5) bulgogi also good (3/5) Buldak a little too salty very spicy if you like that. The menu said chicken on top but it didn't have any (4/5) garlic soy chicken was solid and a crowd pleaser Overall food execution was between a 3-4/5 service was a 1-2 Space was cute and open with some longer booths on the right hand side along with outdoor seats. Maybe if they figure out their flow and up the banchan I'd give it another star.

    Green tea - amazing

I would absolutely come back here regularly! I would recommend getting a few things and sharing because the variety is part of what makes this such a great experience. We got the japchae, the kimchi jeon, the vegetable dumplings, the pork belly, the sweet and spicy chicken, green tea, and they also brought a kale salad and some broth. The japchae was fantastic! The noodles absorb all of the sauce flavor and the veggies shine. I personally would get this without meat and even then it feels like a full plate. The veggie dumplings and kimchi jeon were both great sides. The chicken had a great spice, almost numbing which was different from gojujang and I appreciated the variety of spice flavor. The pork belly had this incredible sauce on the size which I could eat a tub of, something fermented and slightly sweet, I think. The kale salad and broth were great palate cleansers and we had some small bowls of veggies that rounded out the dishes which had radishes, squash and kimchi. The prices were reasonable and I would definitely go back and try more items or just eat what we got all over again. Originally I was concerned about how spicy things would be but everything was not overly spicy, assuming you have some tolerance but maybe not extremely high tolerance. Lastly the green tea, which they said they bring from Korea, was the best green tea I've ever had.

The generous, earnest service, along with relentlessly photoworthy dish composition, are great reasons to stop by. But ultimately I felt the food was underseasoned, which is such a shame because the rest of the experience was easily 5 stars. Open for three months now, Seoul Bistro is located below street level toward the northern end of Bloomfield Avenue. My skittish schnoodle was in tow that Saturday afternoon, so we sat outside, and no fewer than two staff offered to bring him a water dish. I couldn't believe how much food they gave us. They offered extra banchan at one point, everything was served with rice, and somehow we ended up with a sesame seed kale salad. I wish they had timed the apps ahead of our mains - instead, all the food came at once. All our dishes had outstanding color. The dipping sauce for the seafood neon was, disappointingly, just salty. And I was dying for a harder sear and crisp on my stir-fried chicken.

Always love seeing more Korean food in the area. This place replaced where CM chicken used to be in an area that's easy to miss, but don't miss out and head down the stairs to this cute and tasty spot! We were pleasantly surprised by the food and prices. I thoroughly enjoyed all the dishes, super flavorful, and nice presentation. The only negative was it took pretty long to find track down staff multiple times just to order, get water, and pay. There was a small mix-up with our order as well, but the staff took care of it which we appreciated. Overall, will be coming back here next time I'm craving Korean food

    Banchan and Pear Tea

As you walk down the steps to the entrance of Seoul Bistro, you are transported to a peaceful and calming space. We were warmly greeted when we arrived, and sat at a lovely table. Our server was very pleasant and helpful. We started with some pear tea, which was delicious. Then a very nice selection of banchan arrived. We ordered the Kimchi Jeon for an appetizer. Crispy and packed with flavor, this dish was great. For dinner, we had the Ssam Bap for two. This dish came with a choice of soup, and either bulgogi or spicy pork. We chose the Soybean Soup and Bulgogi. You get rice, sauce, and a large plate of veggies to make the lettuce rolls. Everything was sensational! Honestly, I think that four people could have eaten from the size of the portions. There are so many more dishes that I want to try, that I will definitely return. The prices were also very reasonable. I highly recommend Seoul Bistro!

Yes I know I don't give out 5 stars but this place deserves it From when you first walk downtowns you are transported to a bistro in the city the ambience and staff are amazing Very friendly and since we were not sure what everything was our waitress explained The food came out fast hot and fresh with big portions I almost gave it 4 stars because I felt a little rushed to start as I was on a date and food was so good I wanted to enjoy but when I asked them to slow down they did The manager came over and she was such a sweet person Please go and keep this place open

During my visit, I experience good customer service; employees are kind and helpful with navigating the menu. Employees may refer to Rib Tips as Spare Ribs. The flavor, in my opinion, between the Vegan and Non-Vegan Rib Tips, are the same. There is no bone or cartilage in the Vegan Rib Tips though the harder texture (of bone/cartilage) is possible to attain if one eats the meal at a latter time (without reheating though without refrigerating). The Vegan Rib Tips are so delicious; more sweet than savory, chewy though not gum, and offering a wonderfully satisfying flavor. The Calamari is so good; more savory than sweet, tastes like Non-Vegan Calamari more so in the aftertaste though like Calamari (87%) and Shrimp (13%) in the beginning ànd middle taste, the crisp is light, not heavy on my stomach, what a wonderfully satisfying combination. The Mixed Vegetable Soup is like Hot Vegetable-Infused Water, very soothing to sip within bites of the Calamari and Rib Tips. The Mixed Vegetable Soup is like a tea of the meal, good at any time warm. I find the meal so good, I intentionally save about half to eat with a dinner portion of home cooking. Good Vibes. The establishment accepts different forms of payments. The establishment has a variety of seating options.

Veggie Heaven is a gem for anyone craving classic Chinese dishes with a fully vegan twist. The menu…read moredoes an impressive job recreating traditional favorites--everything from General Tso's "chicken" to dumplings and lo mein--without sacrificing flavor or texture. Even as someone who isn't strictly vegan, it's easy to appreciate how well they execute these plant-based versions. The variety is a huge plus, and it's clear a lot of thought goes into balancing taste and authenticity. Some dishes truly stand out and could easily rival their non-vegan counterparts, which makes it a fun and satisfying experience whether you're plant-based or just exploring. That said, while most items hit the mark, a few dishes can lean a bit heavy or slightly one-note in flavor. Nothing that ruins the meal, but enough to keep it just shy of a perfect score. Overall, Veggie Heaven is a go-to spot in Montclair for delicious, creative vegan Chinese food that proves you don't need meat to enjoy the classics.
