They have great food and lunch specials. Huda Shanawani told me her family does a lot of take out from here. The peking duck with black beans is so good. Bean curd and broccoli also. read more

Family we are visiting highly recommended this place and it was pretty delicious. The portions were fulfilling for an average of $10-$18 per dish. The taste was not too overwhelming with MSG or spice and most importantly...none of the dishes were greasy. Not the most exciting flavor but it is enough. Parking was interesting as the entrance is off a busy street with no street parking available. We had to park in a lot with an entrance that could have easily been missed. It was about 20 steps from the restaurant. Overall was good and everyone enjoyed every dish! Enjoy! read more

I can honestly say that the white rice was good, but that was about it. Everything was bland and tasteless, had to use every pack of duck sauce and whatever I could find in my house to give it some semblance of taste. My kids liked the scallion pancakes so I'll give them that, but I can say that I won't be ordering from here again read more

I met my buddy for lunch ) not planned) but he was in Millburn so I " dropped in". Omg exceptional ( chicken and mixed vegetables) excellent even though I ate the second half in the car out of a container. The only thing more exceptional was the price---$10.00 and to me their lunch portion was as big as some restaurants dinner s. Very nice experience and an audible atmosphere with real beautiful soft symphonic type music which as you know is becoming " extinct.". read more

The service was amazing and the people who work there are so nice. The food was delicious and I am going to come back here every time I have the chance. read more

Jade Lake Gourmet - Pork fried rice and general tso chicken - Chinese Near Me - Millburn, New Jersey

I went here on a recommendation by two people. I was not impressed. The entrance is in the rear. It's not within walking distance of town center. I ordered online and did not receive a message or text that my order was ready. When I entered my order was on the counter for anyone to take. When I looked in the bag, there were no utensils. There was no one around. There was one patron sitting at a table. The interior looked dirty to me and very outdated. I had to look into the kitchen to get someones attention. The chicken was cooked well and the vegetables seamed ok. The rice was not packed on the container like others. It was kinda just scooped in. There were no choices for gluten-free sauce. There is another better Asian restaurant in town within walking distance of town center that I will continue to patronize. I will not be back and don't recommend this place. read more

Is this place under new management? I was so disappointed as this was my daughter's favorite Chinese restaurant in NJ. They seemed short-staffed when we dined in as people was picking up orders & they had to wait for their food. My husband ordered the crispy shrimp with walnuts, I was not impressed by looking at it. The menu seemed to have changed as well. I ordered the pineapple rice as I usually do & the waiter explained what he had to do to make it pineapple rice, ??? Why was it on the menu then? I will not be back. read more

I gotta say I'm surprised. I came here looking for a late lunch take out and it looks like your run of the mill buffet or Chinese restaurant. Right down from the setting to many selections on the menu. I went with the Thai curry fish. You choose your rice and canned drink with the lunch special. The fish was plentiful and had a nice curried flavor, could've been a bit saucier but it was very nicely prepared. Some of the onions were pretty large too but that's not exclusive to here. What I really liked was how cheap it was. The food and drink were less than $8 after taxes. Even local places near by job are beaten by that when it comes to cheap lunch. I know places like these it may be mediocre but for the price and how good the lunch was I have to say I'm impressed. If you're in the mood for Chinese or similar cuisine it's a really good deal, take out or eat in. read more

Have been looking for a GOOD Chinese restaurant for a while. Well, finally found it, the food was delicious. We will definitely be back to done in and/or tale out. Wonderful find. Parking lot leaves something to be desired, i have a few handicap people. Other than that I'm all good. read more

So happy I ordered from this restaurant. I originally placed the order from Uber. Uber never picked up. When I called the restaurant they said they would deliver my o order. It took longer but it. Was so worth the wait. The food was hot and delicious. My husband got the peppered Steak he said "best he ever had ". I plan on going back and will not use Uber. I think we even went and ate in sometime last year but we got a menu in the mail and that's why we ordered last night. read more

Jade Lake Gourmet - H18. Happy Family delicious - Chinese Near Me - Millburn, New Jersey

We have been loyal delivery orderers from Jade Lake for years. The food was pretty good and the service/delivery has usually been great. You call, they are nice, they recognize us by our number, they keep our card on file, they are pleasant. SOMETHING HAS CHANGED and it's absolutely for the WORSE. Terrible, rude, extremely late deliveries (it's a random Thursday night in September and we've been waiting an hour and a half for some dumplings) with no apologies or accommodations of any kind. Actual quote from woman who answered the phone: "I don't see your ticket here, so I guess it's out for delivery. I don't know anything more than that." AYKM? No. SKIP IT! read more

VERY BAD, their children's keep screaming I'm pretty sure it's their managers and this girl keeps bumping into tables with her bike like the managers kids should control them. One time I was eating my food and these two kids started fighting the food was also pretty bad like some stuff felt like it wasn't fully cooked yet. read more

Love the silky corn chicken soup. The Singapore mai fun is really exceptional. The food is consistently good the many times I have ordered and their delivery is always before schedule. read more

We used to love this place. Something has changed and not for the better. Dumplings were deep fried and other dishes gooey. We tossed it all. Very sad as it was a go to place for us. read more

We've been ordering prom this place long time before it became "new". Food was tasty, typically on time as they said it'd be delivered. Not as so anymore. Food changed, almost all have the same taste, soups are with no appreciable flavor. Tonight's order was to be 30-40 minutes but after 1.5 hours, was told that the delivery driver was in the next town which could be at least 20-30 mins or even more. Wanted to cancel it at that time and the reply was "yeah, yeah, yeah" and hung up. Will watch the CC to see if it was credited and will find somewhere else to order from. read more

Good food with decent portions. Friendly service. Nice inside. It has its own parking lot.

Consistently good food and not overpriced. Definitely recommend for pickup, delivery, or dine in

Flavorless, disgusting, and rude service. We called ahead and asked if they had gluten free options. The woman said "We have gluten free soy sauce." We ordered. They did not use any sauce and it all tasted like unseasoned oil. I called them. Here's a list of things they said; You are a crazy customer. You are trying to steal food. I don't give a sh$&. We don't need sh$& from you. (Hung up phone) Spend your money LITERALLY ANYWHERE ELSE. Millburn and Maplewood/South Orange have tons of wonderful restaurants with phenomenal customer service. These people should be run out of town. Disgusting food, worse service. read more

It used to be a very solid Chinese restaurant in this town. It seems like they have either changed the ownership or the chefs. I ordered the roast duck noodles soup and there is no meat on the duck. The scallions pancake has no layers. It looks like from the frozen food isle at the Asian grocery store. The Singapore noodles is not cooked with Mei Fun noodles! And the noodles soup tasted like water.... If I could give out no star, I would.. read more

This was an amazing find through Yelp. I was looking for a good restaurant nearby my town and came across this one. We ordered House Special Wonton Soup for 2 which quite tasty and generous in bowl size. Our main course was Jade Lake Special Shredded Beef with Pepers and Shrimp and vegetables in garlic sauce. The beef was spicy and very tasty. The garlic shrimp was equally good. The portion sizes were huge. I wish I had taken some pictures but all we have are our leftovers for tomorrow. ! All in all a great experience read more

Delicious soups, pancakes, dumplings, etc. Organized patron records & timely, reliable delivery.

We placed an order during Covid and gave them an hour to assemble the order. Waited on the car line for 45 minutes. Called the restaurant and the woman was of absolutely no help. Didn't even try to help. Finally got the food and brought it home. It was not worth the wait. This restaurant seems to always be empty but has a brisk take out business. So it was surprising when they couldn't get their act together to assemble our order in due time. We have lived in the Millburn area for 25 years and go to this restaurant every 3 to 4 years. Each time we say we won't go back. This time, we definitely won't go back. read more

From inconsistent to bad. Everything now is too sweet and bland. It almost all tastes the same. New owner? I won't be back. Disappointing.

We had Christmas Eve Reservations for Sparta of 13 people. We placed our food orders with owners week in advance to be certain everyone would be served at the same time. Needless to say we got to the restaurant on time and checked in and were seated by our waiter. The first course stated coming out about ten minutes later, one order at a time and was like warm at best. Two soups were sent back as cold and came back just as cold ten minutes later. Long story short it was over an hour before our last two dishes were served. Remember our orders were placed a week earlier. Conclusion: these people do not know how to run a sit down restaurant. and they won't be seeing us again. read more

Top tier for Chinese food in the area. Love the Seaford selections, particularly crispy bass with ginger

Not sure what has happened over the last couple months but we used to order from here a couple times a week...it WAS great. Unfortunately the food and service has taken a downward turn...and the delivery has been taking over an hour. When I have called to check on delivery, I'm always told it's on the way...then an hour later it shows up. Hope they can get back to really good good and service. read more

Jade Lake Gourmet - Chinese Near Me - Millburn, New Jersey

In Millburn, restaurants serving Chinese cuisine are few and far between. It is because of this that whenever I'm craving Chinese food, this is my go-to restaurant. However, I would not recommend going there if you want a good experience. Most of the food is bland except for the beef Chow Fun which I would highly recommend over any of the other dishes. Additionally, I would suggest ordering ahead of time for pick-up or delivery as the wait time on average is about 45 minutes read more
