Cozy atmosphere. Good and fresh food. Pleasant service! Pretty spacious panera store for dine-in. Ample of parking space. High chair seen. Accepts credit/debit. See image for reference.

I wanted to try their new menu breakfast items. They do not look like the advertisement. I got the cinnamon roll egg sandwich. It was not cut even and it wasn't sweet like a typical cinnamon roll. The orange scone was good but typical Panera quality and taste. The service was meh. I ordered at the kiosk for dine in and when they said my order was ready, it was not. The ambiance was that of a fast food restaurant. I don't like their hot coffee so I tried their cold brew. It wasn't any better. And they charge you extra for a flavor shot. Go at your own risk. I don't plan on going back.

    Smokehouse "BBQ" Sandwich

Ordered a Smokehouse BBQ chicken sandwich and a salad online for pickup on a busy work day. Opened the sandwich to find ... no BBQ sauce. It's not a complex sandwich as far as Panera menus go. There's 4 players in this stage act and they missed the title actor. And they forgot to add my bread to the salad order, too. If I had any time I'd go back and complain. I'll give 2 stars because the salad was fine. I've been to this Panera before and while the staff are nice they mix up orders pretty often and this last time was once too many

I have ate from this location a few times now, never inside, always from orders that people brought to my job for a party. I have had a few of their bagels for breakfast and some of their sandwiches for lunch. Overall, I would rate their food average. The bagels are better than Dunkin, but not as good as a local mom and pop bagel shop. Same for the sandwiches. Just average. I believe this establishment falls under "fast food", so you cant expect best quality of products for fast food places. But, for something to be prepared quick, it gets the job done. Maybe some of their other bread items are better, as I believe this place is known for having good breads, but the bagels and sandwiches do not have top quality bread.

Banana for scale. The crumb is so dense. Like it had no time to rise before baking

Came back to give it a try again. Quality has not improved at all from past several months. Now it's also way more expensive cause of inflation. Even their "bread" is a shrunken, dense, mess.

I love Panara. I give it 5 stars because for the price, the food is very delicious and also very fast. There are options for people with different dietary restrictions and there are also a lot of healthy options for a snack, breakfast, lunch, or dinner. This particular location is very spacious and casual. There is free WiFi and a bathroom so it's a great place to work or get a quick bite. I brought their dessert to a party on NYE and it was a huge hit and cost me less than 10$ !

I went with a group of 3 and all ordered ramen and the karaage appetizer, but the karaage was just slightly crispy and barely had any flavor, the sauce really saved that dish but definitely would pass on that dish. All 3 ramens were average. The pork cha shu was tender though which was the highlight, but overall broth was pretty standard. Particularly my miso ramen didn't have that much flavor. Service and staff was a bit slow, but food came out pretty fast. Overall not bad, but will probably give this place another go sometime and try some of the other dishes.

My nephew who lives nearby treated us to an al fresco meal recently while visiting for a family event. It was packed on the Friday night we visited, with folks lined up for seating, or to hang at the bar and enjoy the bar scene. No reservations. Our late dinner worked fine as the mostly millennial and Gen-Z crowd started thinning shortly after we arrived. Millburn has always been a draw for neighboring townsfolk in search of a meal out. I remember this foodie town from 25 years ago, when its pizza, kosher and diner offerings were top notch. It seems to have upgraded its food scene several notches since my last visit so many years ago. Pure nostalgia for me which made for a very flavorful evening. TOP TIP: Street parking in this part of town is a hassle and the local cops keep a sharp eye for illegally parked cars and inebriated drivers. So park further away from the center of town where you are more likely to snag a legal spot on a busy night.

Also NOTE - its BYOB (but there are even some places nearish by you can grab a bottle or 3 if needed). Our server was very attentive, despite the restaurant being fairly busy. For apps, we decided on the: Hummus - how do you properly judge a Mediterranean restaurant without trying their hummus, and this was creamy, decadent and served with some fresh pita. Grilled Calamari (with roasted red pepper, lemon, evoo, capers, red onions) - very nicely cooked, not rubbery at all Grilled Octopus (with roasted red peppers, fava puree, capers, onions, red wine vinegar, arugula, evoo) - if octopus is on the menu, I'm gonna have it. For my entree, I got the pan-seared scallops with cauliflower puree, quinoa, spinach, heirloom tomato. Loved it. Cooked perfectly, loooved the silky puree...just a solid solid dish. The Veggie Panini is so tasty; the ingredients taste fresh and as though from a quality sauté; the Portobello Mushrooms, Red Onions, Roasted Red Peppers, and Spinach all mesh together juicily well, of good flavor. I try to make the meal as Vegan friendly as possible by removing the Feta Cheese. Still, the panini might have butter which texture wise more so than flavor wise is present. If not for looking in the sandwich I might not note the buttery-melt-like residue which is post my curiosity of the oil/sauce. I think a garlic-olive oil base may be a great option to substitute for any seeking to Veganify the Veggie Panini beyond just removing the cheese. The coleslaw is tasty and contains a light mayonnaise-milky-like dressing, which one may drain out, though the coleslaw comes with it. Being able to substitute the coleslaw for a commensurate size salad can help with Veganify-ing the coleslaw portion. The fresh fruit are fresh and tasty. Request a check for available fruits to be more sure of what might be coming in your fresh fruit package. The meal is overall juicy and satisfying. The establishment offers a variety of seating options and has a somewhat classy modern-retro vibe. I don't look for a jukebox or a dancefloor though I won't find any surprise if this eatery has them. The establishment accepts different forms of payment.

BEDBUGS in the Booths at Millburn Diner -- and an Owner Who Yells at Customers- STAY AWAY!…read more Quick Summary * Sat in a fabric booth and found multiple bedbugs crawling in the cushions within minutes * Reported it to staff -- no manager came over and nothing was done * We were moved to another table and still charged the full bill * Called the next day -- manager promised a call back but never did * Spoke with the owner later -- he yelled, accused us of harassment, refused to address the issue, and hung up I'm sharing this so other families in Millburn know what we experienced. Date of visit: February 28 Party: Family dinner including our 20-month-old daughter My family and I live in Millburn and try to support local restaurants whenever we can, which makes this experience even more disappointing. Within about five minutes of sitting down in a fabric booth, someone in our party noticed a bug crawling on the seat. Based on what we observed at the time, it appeared to be a bedbug. When we checked behind the booth cushions more closely, we saw several more, at least 8 crawling along both sides of the booth. Seeing multiple insects that were confirmed to be bedbugs where customers are sitting and eating was extremely alarming. We immediately got up and asked to be moved. In hindsight we should have left immediately, but we had already ordered and felt awkward walking out. The staff moved us to a table in the center of the restaurant with wooden chairs. We clearly told our server exactly what we had found in the booth. Nothing further happened. * No manager came over * No one inspected the booth * No one followed up with us * No one offered any acknowledgment beyond a quick apology from the server When the meal ended, we were handed the full bill as if nothing had happened. The next day I called the restaurant to make sure management knew what had occurred. The manager told me he had not heard anything about it and said he would call me back "ASAP." That call never came. Two days later I called again and asked to speak with a manager. This time the owner came to the phone. Instead of addressing the issue or even listening, he immediately became hostile and started yelling. He accused me of harassing him and his employees and said he was going to do nothing about it. After shouting at me, he abruptly hung up the phone. I have never experienced a business owner respond this aggressively or unprofessionally to a legitimate customer concern. For transparency, we documented what we observed at the time and contacted the restaurant directly the following day to give management the opportunity to address the issue. Based on what we experienced -- both the insects we observed in the seating area and the response from management -- this situation felt completely unacceptable. If you are dining in Millburn, there are many other options. DO NOT GO TO THE MILLBURN DINER!

Millburn has no shortage of delis, but Goldberg's Famous Deli is definitely at the top of the list…read more Goldberg's offers deli traditional favorites like fresh-baked bagels, lox, and sandwiches piled high with deli meats, as well as healthier options like salads when you want something lighter in an unapologetically casual ambiance. Goldberg's has been a local staple in Millburn since Tina and Marty Goldberg first opened the doors back in July 1977. The current owners took over in December 2022 and have done a fantastic job keeping the soulful and "old-school" Jewish-style deli spirit alive while making many subtle but meaningful improvements that today's diners expect and appreciate. However, it still has that authentic, "old-school deli" ambiance where you order at the counter then grab a table to wait for your meal and could end up with mismatched silverware. It's charmingly low-key and with a focus entirely on the food. The deli sandwiches are massive and the quality of the ingredients is consistently high. Unfortunately, that also means that the prices are somewhat higher than you might expect. A single deli sandwich served with a small bag of potato chips is in the $20-$22 range, which feels like a bit of a splurge for a casual lunch. That said.. You definitely won't leave hungry and the portion sizes encourage sharing or taking half of your dish home for a second meal. My dining companion and I split the West Orange sandwich, made with corned beef, turkey, russian dression, and cole slaw, on rye bread, which was excellent. We'll definitely be back. PRO TIP #1: Bring your wallet. I do feel obligated to point out that Goldberg's should be rated as a $$ / moderate price range (indicating $11 to $30 per person) rather than a $ / inexpensive price range (indicating under $10 per person). PRO TIP #2: While they don't have a private lot, there is plenty of on-street parking and municipal lots nearby. Use the mPay2Park app for the pay-by-plate meters ($0.50 per hour). Meters operate Monday through Saturday from 8am to 7pm; all street meters are free after 7 pm and all day Sunday. If the street is full, the Essex Street parking deck (24 Lackawanna Place) is a reliable backup.
