You can request all white meat chicken, the general tso shrimp is good. A step down from Bill & Harry's but clean and much cheaper.

I don't know why we haven't frequented this spot sooner (at least during trips back home), but EVOO is legit. Also NOTE - its BYOB (but there are even some places nearish by you can grab a bottle or 3 if needed). Our server was very attentive, despite the restaurant being fairly busy. For apps, we decided on the: Hummus - how do you properly judge a Mediterranean restaurant without trying their hummus, and this was creamy, decadent and served with some fresh pita. Grilled Calamari (with roasted red pepper, lemon, evoo, capers, red onions) - very nicely cooked, not rubbery at all Grilled Octopus (with roasted red peppers, fava puree, capers, onions, red wine vinegar, arugula, evoo) - if octopus is on the menu, I'm gonna have it. For my entree, I got the pan-seared scallops with cauliflower puree, quinoa, spinach, heirloom tomato. Loved it. Cooked perfectly, loooved the silky puree...just a solid solid dish. All in all, EVOO definitely deserves to be on the Millburn/Essex shortlist when looking for nicer places to dine out. Can't wait to get back and try some more of their menu!

The burrata is always a favorite as well as the friend calamari. I usually go with the chicken parmesan meal. It's served on a bed of large pasta. It's a huge piece of chicken so come with an appetite or a take home portion. All our plates were polished off, showing off the excellent taste of all the different dishes. There is street parking and it is BYOB. The wait staff did come around often to make sure the glasses were full. My friends raved about the creme brule and the tiramasu was also great.

I recently visited to celebrate my mom's birthday on an early Saturday afternoon. The food was spot-on and the service was very attentive. The atmosphere is nothing too over-the-top, but classy. A solid 'occasion' destination. We were first treated to a bread basket with an assortment of fresh breads and focaccia, with a trio of dips/spreads (a tomato/red pepper-ish dip, butter, and a bean dip). So good, we had to get a second basket! Annnnd onto the apps - we (a party of 6, 2 of which were kids), we ordered/shared the: Tartare di Tonno (Wild tuna tartare with cucumber, homemade chips - $17.95) - amazing, very fresh and believe it had some sort of dijon mustard kick that really took it over the top Calamari Fritti (Fried calamari with marinara sauce - $15.95) - crispy and served with a nice marinara sauce. Polpo alla Griglia (Tender charred Spanish octopus, chick peas, julienne carrots, string beans, radish, parsley, lemon, extra virgin olive oil - $20.95) - the octopus was perfectly cooked, and the chickpeas/carrots, etc., added some delightful brightness to the dish. For my meal , I opted for the trout stuffed with crab meat, capers, roasted potatoes and broccoli. The trout with crab meat was delicious and a nice sized portion as well. For dessert, we all shared the: Apple Cobbler (Served warm with cinnamon ice cream - $13.50) - absolutely divine! Probably the best one of the lot. Baked Alaska (ce cream, almond pound cake and baked meringue - $13.50) - fiery presentation and all, this one did not disappoint! Tartufo Trio (A trio of chocolate, vanilla and hazelnut semifreddo - $13.50). All in all, Basicilo is a neighborhood Italian institution, and rightfully so. Definitely worth keeping in the rotation and considered for occasions.

Fresh and Sumptuous Vietnamese Food in Downtown Millburn!…read more We came to Saigon Cafe in the downtown area for an early dinner on a Friday evening. They have a few tables outdoors and some seating inside. When we arrived around 6 PM, the place was just starting to get busy, but it was completely packed by the time we stepped out around 7 PM. The food here is fresh and really sumptuous. Honestly, they serve some of the best pho we have ever had. The bone broths used in the soup are incredibly flavorful and feel freshly made. Here is what we ordered: * Fresh Spring Rolls: We started with the shrimp spring rolls, which were decent. * Chicken Pho: My wife got this, and it was awesome. * Special Beef Pho: I ordered this one, and it was very flavorful and tasty. The meat quality was absolutely fantastic. * Grilled Meat Pao: My sister got this with chicken and fresh veggies, and she really enjoyed it. On top of the excellent food, their staff was very friendly throughout our meal. I highly recommend checking this spot out, just be sure to get there early on the weekend since it fills up fast!

I went with a group of 3 and all ordered ramen and the karaage appetizer, but the karaage was just slightly crispy and barely had any flavor, the sauce really saved that dish but definitely would pass on that dish. All 3 ramens were average. The pork cha shu was tender though which was the highlight, but overall broth was pretty standard. Particularly my miso ramen didn't have that much flavor. Service and staff was a bit slow, but food came out pretty fast. Overall not bad, but will probably give this place another go sometime and try some of the other dishes.

I ordered a black garlic ramen and a kids meal (katsu) for my son, they came pretty quickly and they look delicious!! My son's katsu is super hot and crunchy (he said he doesn't want to eat it prior the food come, and ate 1/2 of the chicken!!) that means did you great!!! Rice was a little hard to be honest and corn was ok.. I kinda put them in my ramen.. the black ramen was good.. lots of spinach and thick piece of pork (chasiu).. soup was thick but not too thick!! Noodle was cool perfectly.. only thing is I have to pay to get the egg, but it was cook perfectly!! My son agree since he ate the entire egg.. would definitely come back again.. I wonder if it would get super busy at lunch time since they don't have too many tables (10 maybe), they might be a line out the door.. but 11:30 was a great time!! And parking is just across the street!!

We ordered the duck bao buns, which were very bland, served without any sauce, and one even had a bone in it. We also ordered the pork belly ramen and seafood ramen, seafood ramen priced at $28 . Unfortunately, these were served in a way that felt unsanitary, with the waitress's thumb touching the plates and inside the bowls. It was very strange and honestly pretty gross. The seafood ramen included crab legs, but we were never offered a crab cracker, and the scallops were overcooked. The broth was decent, but nothing mind-blowing or worth the price. The seating was also uncomfortable. They use high armchairs that felt awkward and impractical. On top of everything, I couldn't get a receipt because they had run out of paper, and I later realized I was double charged for the meal. The one positive is that our waitress was very nice and polite, but unfortunately that wasn't enough to make up for the overall experience. We won't be coming back.
