This is best Chinese food in area. I have been coming here for over ten years. Very well established family business. Right now very good just ordered chicken with broccoli combo with white rice and it's delicious. The rice is perfect. The chicken delicious sweet and salty savory. By far the best texture chicken I have ever had to date. The broccoli is well chopped and flavorful and really absorbs the sauce nicely. Next time I would order one or two dollars extra meat. All in all quick service food was hot and I am not surprised they are still in good business. I will post a picture next time. Just ordered from here for the first time. This was def be the first and last time, what a nightmare. I called it in. Everything was fine. Once the delivery person called me, i successfully directed her to my bldg (garden apts) the second she got out of her honda CRV she starts complaining that this was too difficult, and that she could never come here at night, and went on and on. Never in my 40 yrs of ordering food have I witnessed someone complain THIS much about delivering food. Its like this was the first time she was grasping what delivering food actually is. In the beginning of the conversation she asked me to come down, which was also ludacris, and I had advised her that I just had foot surgery and I was unable to come downstairs. As she complains from her car all the way to the door downstairs, she asks me to come down again! I had to reiterate that I was foot surgery and am physically unable to come downstairs. Her reaponse was "wooooow" if only the rudeness ended there. As she gets to my door, she continues to now complain to my face saying "im sorry i cant deliver here anymore." When I asked why, her response was "its not safe". Lady... its broad daylight on a Thursday afternoon, i live next to a middle school, and im a handicapped female. :D. I told her "ma am you really should hire someone else to deliver, this is not for you" and she goes "ok just hurry up, i have to go" at that point I determined that one dollar would be too much for this broad. So i just handed the receipt back to her, and almost shut the door in her face and I heard "no tip?" To which I responded "No, You literally complained non stop for the past 5 minutes." she walks away and complains some More under her breath. Lady, you got alotta nerve. You better take your behind back to the car, and contemplate your life decisions. Bc hospitality is NOT your forte. Your obnoxious, rude, and disrespectful attitude wont get you anywhere. Whats crazy folks, is that I havent even opened the food yet. The delivery experience ALONE has ensured I will NEVER order from there again. Which is unfortunate, because maybe the food is good, but she killed it. I will make sure no one I know orders from you either. I had lunch at this restaurant and it tasted great also was a generous portion. The issue sets in over the fact that they offer a lunch menu, however, they claim to have a $10 credit minimum which is very reasonable however, if the minimum is more than the lunch special that's simply not practical, I am essentially frustrated over the fact that I was upsold to getting a water bottle which still didn't get me to $10 but the transaction was fine.. which insinuates that the policy isn't even legitimate as if it was why was it fine to still be less than $10? Additionally, I witnessed other diners charge amounts less than $10 and it be fine so they're clearly selectively enforcing, I give the benefit of the doubt and certainly don't wish to tarnish anyone's reputation but thus place objectively has some work to do. Insanely overpriced I ordered a lunch special combo which was $8.35 which was fine. I order 4 PCs chicken wings on the side which cost 8.35! For only 4 PCs I could of bought another combo. Never will I return, the one on Paulison ave is better bigger portion and wings are only like $5 read more

However, the staff (the woman with the reddish-brown hair) was not friendly or accommodating. She even threw my receipt at me. The other customers were greeted by the same woman with smiles and were asked nicely about their orders. Am I looking for five star treatment from a mom and pop spot? YES. As I stood waiting for my order of chicken wings, I realized that I, on the other hand, was am treated poorly. Somewhat like I am bothering them for coming to their establishment. I am just as deserving of courtesy, polite responses, etc. Customer service is imperative. The half fried chicken is crispy but the chicken melts in your mouth! The pork fried rice is also seasoned to perfection and they put a generous portion of pork and veggies. I have ordered from this restaurant time and time again and the food never seems to impress me. Customer service is very rude. I typically order the same thing from any Chinese spot, I either get General Tso chicken or chicken and broccoli. The last few times I have ordered from this place I have gotten food poisoning and I learn my lesson the second time around and I will never be coming back. I have been in this place for Chinese takeouts several times now. I have not been disappointed! Yes, compared with another Chinese takeouts place, this place is about $1 or $2 more expensive per dish. But, it is worth it. I rather pay a couple of dollars more than eating junks. Tonight, I ordered Szechuan Triple with brown rice and Boneless Rib as appetizer. Actually, the rib can be a main course of its own as the portion is big. Both dishes are excellent and tasty. The Szechuan Triple had good flavor. It was a spicy dish and the heat was just right, not overly spicy. The shrimps and scallops were big and fresh. The scallops were in good size and there was no water chestnuts used as filler. The vegetables were nicely cooked. It was not mushy. Oh, they don't charge extra for brown rice. It is an added value. The service was efficient. They did give you a smile. I don't expect a place like that would be overly friendly. I came for the food, not friendship. The place is generally clean. As it is a dine in place, I have no extra expectations about the ambiance of the place. For a neighborhood Chinese takeouts place, this one is pretty darn good. Don't try to save a couple of bucks. I must admit, this is some of the best Chinese food I've gotten in this area. Was referred by a friend a little over a year ago & have ordered several times since. Never had any issue with food, but the employees are RUDE. I just placed an order for delivery and the employee nearly hung up on me - after rushing to get my order - without even asking for my address. It's rare to have this bad of an experience anywhere, but from the moment I called to order to being yelled at to bring the food to them if I wanted a refund to the dirty kitchen, it was awful. This should really be a 0 not a 1 star. I've ordered here 2 times before and it was average Chinese food. Nothing special, but decent for the options in the area so I ordered again... Ordering: It was a busy night, I get it, no one wants to go out. But I was rushed off the phone and was told at least 45 minutes for delivery. Ok, I can wait, but I was concerned about if my order was right because when it read back she missed a few things. I reminded her and she hung up quickly. Delivery: The delivery person arrived within 20-25 minutes and its a 7-10 minute drive. So I was surprised it was made so fast, but happy to eat sooner. The Food: After taking all of the food out I first notice how the scallion pancakes were deep fried, grease all over the box that melted the styrofoam, and hard as a rock. They were flaking off as I tried to break one apart to see if it was salvageable. I've only had soft scallion pancakes not deep fried, but yes they were little greasy. The chicken and garlic AND the eggplant in garlic sauce had so many chunks of thick corn starch in them. It was nothing like I've ever seen before. It was a thick gel, not a sauce. The vegetables in the chicken dish and eggplant were not cooked and raw. Neither dish had extra spice as we had reminded them on the phone, but this was the least of my concerns. The egg drop soup was gel, like thick enough that it stood up on my plate. Its soup, that shouldn't happen. Yes, this type of soup is thick, but trust me not like this. It was clear they rushed to make the order to get it out quickly and never really took the time to make it. So I debated on what to do and decided it was worth calling them... Customer Service...lack there of: I called to talk with them about the food concerns and explain that I've ordered with them before but this has never happened. The woman demanded my address, questioned why I was eating the food now and not 5 minutes sooner, and started yelling in the background to someone else. As she yelled, I wanted her to know what was wrong with the food...she never asked. I told her everything was in a very thick gel, not a sauce and I was getting chunks of it in everything we ordered expect the deep fried scallion pancakes. She yelled again and kept saying "corn starch" to someone else, which I never even mentioned because I didn't know that was what those chunks were. Someone else named "Anna" grabbed the phone and started yelling at me. I told her my concerns and she just kept screaming at me and the people in the background in Chinese. She kept asking me over and over if I ate the food, I said no, we tried it and it wasn't good. She wouldn't refund my credit card (which I paid over the phone) told me to bring the food there. I said I didn't want to go out which is why I ordered delivery. Again I said I have the food, we didn't eat it. She hung up on me. Went to Hunan Wok: At this point it was principle and really not ok that I was being treated like this for food that was not as it should have been. I bring in the food as demanded, and the woman "Vivianne" takes each item out. She opens them one by one. I'm told we have to use corn starch, I understand that but how much was actually used?? She debates with me the consistency, sauce, and deep fried cooking method for their scallion pancakes. She took a fork and poked EVERYTHING I had. I could not believe it, I've never seen anyone do anything like that. Back and forth she wanted to defend the gel sauce, the temperature of the food, etc. I again said, you made me bring this back to you for a refund. She went on and on. Finally, after about 10 requests I got my refund. She saved the food, I'm pretty sure for someone else to receive. The Kitchen: As I'm in there, I see unsanitary conditions, buckets under equipment draining something maroon WHILE people are cooking food! There were 4 people in the kitchen, dirty aprons and others that were not properly dressed to be cooking or handling food. Through this, they are eating pizza in the kitchen again while making peoples food! I've NEVER seen anything like this, been treated this way when having a concern with food, or had to bring the food back to prove I didn't eat it. If you made it this far in my review, I hope you believe when I say, find another place to order from! I am going back to Chengdu 46 even if its pick up only. What a night!!!! read more

I think its high time I give my friends at Hunan a little high five. Like Andre V, I've also got 'em on speed dial. There's not a whole lot to say here other than it is the highest quality Chinese food in the area. Quick, friendly - my delivery guy knows me well and is always appreciative and smiling and the food is top notch take out. The Singapore noodles are among the best I've had, the half fried chicken is seemingly marinated in a bit of Chinese five spice and is wonderful, and then there's the crab rangoon (cheese wontons). These pillows of deep fat awesome are the best rangoon I've had outside of that tiny Chinese joint in Upton, MA - you know who are are little Chinese place. You touched my deep fried soul.
