Tasty food but overall very unsatisfied.. Appetizer never came out and still showed up on the check (even though the server specifically said she took it off) instead, she split the $10 on each check, which was completely wrong.. The appetizer was for my boyfriend and I, not the whole table.. And the other checks didn't have any discount.. I was at the point of such frustration I wasn't going to sit there and argue with the server and "manager?" Who really didn't even seem to care that he had upset, concerned customers. As a newbie to Bend, knowing that the good restaurants are by word of mouth, I don't plan on referring anyone. Visited on St Patricks Day with our two young children. It was a super pleasant experience for such a busy night for dining out. Our server so kindly brought our 6 year old a green necklace because he noticed she was not wearing any green. I had the most lovely blueberry cocktail and we enjoyed traditional Irish fare. Went here for the first time for an early Sunday lunch. We sat outside on a beautiful patio that was surrounded with gorgeous flower boxes. I told our server that it was our first time so i had a few questions about the food and she was super sweet and very knowledgeable. She also told us all about their happy hour and a three course menu they have. She was Awesome! We started with the Spinach artichoke dip. I could tell it was fresh not frozen. Was very good. I had a cup of Crab Bisque. It could have had a little more crab in it but other than that, Very tasty. For our entrees, i had the Fish and Chips and my Hubby had the French dip. Both were AMAZING!!!! The fish was fresh and the breading was so light and fluffy when i bit into it. The french dip had real beef not just some deli meat on it like most places and the Au Jus really made it something special! I have been looking for a great French dip for years! I am happy to say i finally found it! We will definitely be going back. Looking forward to try dinner here. read more

We have been here twice in the last two weeks. The host was great, greeted us and seated us quickly. We were there to enjoy each others company and explained to our server, (Kim) that we would be taking our time over wine and appetizers. Then we moved on to dinner. The Grilled Shrimp Appetizer with a peanut sauce had peanuts right on top. I commented that was a great way to alert those with allergies that peanuts were in the sauce. We wanted to split the Salmon Picatta, and it came on two plates, already split from the kitchen. There was no dividing it up and spilling food on the table. I would go back there soon and often. I have been there and enjoyed the bar scene with their TVs, and have also enjoyed the patio. (when the weather was more conducive to sitting outside). read more

DO NOT GO HERE WITH A LARGE GROUP!!! We had our family meet up here so like 14 people, but we all had separate bills. This place charged an 18% service charge to EVERY bill, THATS RIDICULOUS!! I understand we were a large group but to charge every bill with an extra 18%!!! Not to mention the food is OK not the greatest , took forever to even get our appetizers. You would think they would be happy for the business but nope, they basically made $100 bucks extra just to serve 14 ppl with crappy customer service n I don't even think the waitress smiled even once! I have to say this is one place that has vastly improved in quality and service since they first opened. The first few years it was opened I would have given a 1 star now a 4. They give fair portions and their salads are awesome. They are our go to place when we don't want to take a chance on having a good meal elsewhere. read more

We thought this was better then some of the reviews. We had 2 salmon chopped salads (no complaints), a 10 oz prime rib (my only complaint was the veggie medley reminded me of the 80's) and for $22 I'd like some good veggies, not everyday broccoli and wimpy carrots, the ginger soy glazed salmon with curry sauce and rice was good but the ratatouille was a little odd and way to sweet for my liking. I would eat here again if invited but for the price I'd go to one of my favs. As far as temperatures everything was good on the food side and for the beer on tap they just ran it a bit to really chill it for me. My absolute favorite place to eat in Bend. The servers are all awesome, friendly and helpful with menu choices. They have a great selection of wines and micro brews. I have always had a great experience and meal at The Phoenix. One time our waitress, Lily, made a special dessert just for my friend who was craving pumpkin pie. The Phoenix has something for everyone: meatloaf, salmon, great salads, great bar food, and some of the best fish and chips in town. They also have the best wait-staff. The staff are always pleasant, they anticipate your needs , and I've never had one forget anything. Went there strictly because I was craving calamari, I even told my waiter how excited I was cause its been awhile. I ordered it as an appetizers and it was taking a very long time, so I asked about it and she said it should be here shortly.. Then we got our entrées and I asked her again about the calamari and she told me she forgot and asked if I wanted her to put the order in now.. I obviously said no because its called an appetizer for a reason. Not only that but we never got asked for refills on our drinks and our water cups were empty. Plus the long islands tasted like juice and straight sugar. Definitely left unsatisfied, get better service for cheaper apparently. read more

I have been here 4 times now. I like the atmosphere in the restaurant. It never seems to be too busy or loud like everywhere else in Bend. Every time, I order something different. Every time it has been delicious. Last week, I got the sirloin and mashed potatoes. Perfectly cooked and tender! Their burgers are really good, as are their sweet potato fries. Dinners range from $11-30. The only reason I don't get here more often is that it is all the way across town. read more

Great dinner! We read the reviews, saw a few negative posts, but decided to give it a try and make our own decisions. So glad we did. Our server, Kerry (mentioned in one of the negative reviews), was fantastic. Great service, very personable. And the happy hour menu is great. We ordered a variety of items. All were good. Good all around restaurant! Standard American fare with delicious pizza! I had the Pesto pizza and it was yummy except for the chicken on it. It had a leftover taste to it, so I ended up picking it off. Despite that, the rest of the pizza was so good that I would still order it again. read more

Worst place ever! Went at a downtime with 3 kids- we ordered within 10 minutes of being there keep in mind it was totally dead -literally 15 people in the restaurant and all we ordered were small appetizers and hot dogs. We moved to Bend just over a year ago and it took a few months to discover The Phoenix. And since then we've eaten there at least weekly. The Halibut fish and chips are the best in town and the 1/2 salad is larger than most restaurants large salad. The employees are friendly and efficient. And Sunset menu is a great meal deal. Having moved from Portland we were missing some of our favorite restaurants. Not anymore. read more

A well maintained establishment that serves wonderful food and and is fantastic for large groups. Suitable for casual attire all the way to a fancy night out.
