Brisket - not the best I've had, but definitely good Pork Belly Burnt Ends - delicious! The sticky sweet sauce they come in is amazing. Pulled Pork - good Sausage link - meh Mac & Cheese - better than many places, but I'd probably try a different side next time Tater Tots - sooo good! Texas Twinkie - perfect flavor and jalapeno poppers and not usually my thing Pickles and pickled onions - so good! Pecan pie - took this home to eat later and it was one of the best pies I've ever had The BBQ sauce at a place can make it or break it. I didn't care for the vinegar based one, but their honey bbq sauce is delicious. I appreciated that they gave me a cup of it automatically when I asked for a to go container.

Being from Alabama, fresh-brewed sweet tea is a must for me with BBQ. Matt's does not have sweet tea but I called and asked if I could bring my own. I was told sure so that made it extra special for me. As I entered Matt's, I ordered at the counter and I had help from the nice lady. She told me all meat plates come in 1/2 pound but I could order sliders that came in 1/4. That's why I went with the brisket slider and pulled pork slider. I wanted to try the pork belly burnt ends but those didn't come in a sandwich. Both sliders were fantastic! The meat was juicy and what I exactly want from BBQ. The pulled pork slider went extremely well with the Carolina Vinegar sauce like it should. The honey BBQ and hot honey BBQ were better matches with the brisket. I loved all 3 sauces but was most impressed with the Carolina Vinegar. The meat and sauces were impressive but the sides over all were underwhelming for me. Something to note was that this might be the only BBQ joint I have ever been to with so many sides and baked beans was not one of them. The slaw was all right but adding the Carolina vinegar took it to another level. The potato salad was homemade and actually cost an extra $1 for some reason. But I didn't like it because I don't like celery. That one is on me because other than the celery, it was all right. But the side I was most disappointed with was the mac and cheese. The lady behind the counter told me they do not make it in house but buy it frozen and smoke it. They need to find another formula for it because this was not worth $5 for a side of Mac and cheese. The noodles were too doughy and could tell it was indeed frozen at one point and the cheese was more like nacho cheese than real cheese. I couldn't even finish it with how disappointed and disgusted I was with it. Despite the sides, Matt's gets the most important part of BBQ right and that's the meat. The meat and sauces were top notch and I truly appreciate them letting bring in my own sweet tea.

Firstly, if you go here, do not leave without trying the fried chicken - that's not debatable. Other items that make me come back is the chicken katsu, Sotteok Sotteok and Bao Buns. They also have a Korean hot dog that's pretty decent with the soy garlic sauce. My favorite go-to is the chicken katsu, it's not the absolute best I've had but it's very close and this a hard dish to find. Grilled meat not as good as fried meat here. Beef is kinda tasteless. Sotteok Sotteok is chewy rice cakes and sausage if you've never tried it, it's like $4 - give it ago. Bringing me to my next point, this place is super affordable. If you're unfamiliar with Korean food this is an awesome place to experiment and try new things. To elaborate on my complaints, I must start with service here is very hit or miss. More than half of my visits the employees seem clueless about their responsibilities and very rarely come to check if you need anything. The little robot is cool, but you can't ask it for a refill or napkins. All is kind of funny, because you place your order at a counter so servers are really not responsible for much. Secondly, the restaurant is just so blah. Barely decorated walls, a really gross bathroom, corners/moldings are dirty. It gives hospital cafeteria, which is completely different than their hip, vibrant advertisements. All in all, I'm a fan for life but this place could use a little investment to step it up a notch.

We all ordered different drinks. I ordered the Cranbery Sangria and it was perfect. Definitely reccomend! For appetizers, we got the spinach and artichoke dip with chips and fried ravioli. Both appetizers were delicious! I liked them both so much and can't pick a favorite because they were equally satisfying my taste buds. For our main course, we ordered a traditional thin crust pepperoni pizza and a gluten free sausage pizza. Both pizzas had nice perfectly cooked crispy crust. The gluten free crust was just as good as the traditional crust. The pepperoni was flavorful and had a spicy kick to it, which I enjoyed. The sausage on the gluten free pizza tasted like it was homemade and fantastic! The sauce was a little sweet for my liking but not bad by any means. I just prefer less sweet pizza sauce on my pizza. I would definitely return again whether in their igloo dining in the winter or anytime through the year on their patio or inside. Highly reccomend!

Great spot for groups since most of the menu lends itself to sharing. The Neapolitan pizza is the real draw here and it earns the reputation. We went with the pepperoni and it was very good. Well executed, properly blistered, the kind of pizza that reminds you what pizza is actually supposed to taste like. The whipped ricotta and honeycomb appetizer was a genuine standout. Creamy, sweet, deeply flavorful. Only complaint is that the bread situation did not keep pace with the amount of ricotta they give you. Send more bread, please and thank you. Service was attentive and friendly throughout. One honest note for families: the menu skews mature and there is no kids menu to speak of. A cheese pizza is about as far as the options go for little ones. My son was not exactly inspired by the choices. For a restaurant this good, a little more consideration for younger diners would go a long way and open this place up to a whole new crowd of regulars. When you order the chicken, they bring it out "family style", and only the folks who order the chicken can sup from the bowls. They put out relishes and yummy corn fritters, but don't think you're going to get to take them along in the doggie bag. You can rent a seat for $10.41, if you don't order a full dinner; and your kids can rent their seats for $5.20, if THEY don't order a dinner. There's a "Lettuce salad" for $8.63, but only at that price if you order WITHOUT croutons. Apparently the WFF folks didn't swing when the crouton futures were favorable. For the record, "croutons" are nowhere on the menu...at any price. There was a scowling manager who reminded me of Basil Fawlty (q.v.). It seemed she was annoyed by the customers. Their policy is NO SPLIT CHECKS. That's okay, we have calculators on our fones. We were a party of four, a regular dining quartet, and it is our custom that no one picks up the entire check. Sometimes one or more of us pays cash for their portion and others have a card. We'll say: "charge each card $40, and here's $50 in cash". Round numbers, easy peasy. (which actually results in a bonus for the server 'cos the tip turns out to be greater than normal) We've never encountered a problem at any resto (who accepts credit cards) when it came to giving them payment in this fashion. O, but there was a problem here. One of our 4 didnt have any cash and needed to pay with his card, but was told "No, you can't!" The fellow with the Card was so offended, he said he was going to skip dinner, and just have a Diet Coke. But that would trigger the $10.41 "I ain't eatin'" fee. Well. It stupefies me that ANY establishment would kick back at customers wanting to pay their bill. The waitress was adamant that we could not proffer varied payments for our bill. We asked for a manager, and Ms. Fawlty sidled up to our table. They kept insisting there was "NO SPLIT CHECK", but we weren't ASKING for a split check. The ask was on the SUM TOTAL (with generous tip added). We even made the ask in "round numbers" They didn't have to do any math. I thought I was going to have to pull up an Esperanto translator to get her to understand we weren't asking to SPLIT the check. After some sprightly conversation, the loose wire in the old bag's noggin hit the right contact and then she grokked what we were proposing. I thought I saw sparks coming from her right ear, but it might have been a trick of the light. Luckily, the guy with the card could now eat. The aggregate service was fine, with the above exception, and as I said above, the food IS top-notch. Even beyond Chicken-- the Steak here is very good.
