First time here, a little hard to fine would benefit with a side street sign/board..but that's not an issue. When we first walked in no one greeted us, 2 guys behind the bar looked up at us and looked back down and kept talking to each other. I went up to them and I guess the person that's the host saw me and came to sat us. Even if that is not your "job" everyone that works in an establishment should always greet all customers they see or at least acknowledge the customers and direct them where to go or let the host know that customers are there. When we were ready to order the same guys behind the bar, were still just talking to each other and talking to the guy that was making the pizza instead of coming over to us so again we waited for the host to come and take our order. For the salads, we noticed the lettuce they use are not really fresh as you can see in the picture, however, everything plus this was not what led me to leave a negative review, it was the fact when we finally got our pizza it was so char-black on the bottom and the top we could only forcefully take a couple of bites..it even left black residue on our fingers even after wiping our hands. That means their oven is very dirty as we eat fresh pizza oven made pizza frequently and we always check the bottom of the pizza to see how it looks. Not to mention people making the pizza non stop talking above the pizza to the other staff w no gloves and no masks. I saw him touch his glasses and back to the pizza or wiped hands on pants and back to pizza.. Lastly when we were checking out they could see we didn't really eat much of our food and instead of asking if everything was okay or how was everything they just let us pay. Def wasted money here. Anyways has a lot of potential if there was good management/ownership to supervise. 2 stars for host that tried and a girl that was nice plus only thing i liked the ranch. read more

I want to support local/small businesses, but sadly, it goes downhill from here. We were waiting for the rest of our party. I ordered ahead since I have Gestational Diabetes and have to eat at certain times. I got the gluten-free classic Margherita pizza. It could've been great IF it had come out fresh and hot -- but instead it sat (for who knows how long) before reaching me at room temp. Notice the cheese is NOT melted. Shortly after, I received my Green Goddess salad, or should I say a thick bowl of leaves! The photo is an illusion, they just lightly sprinkled various toppings. For $16 and no protein, you'd expect at least half an avocado. Felt like they were stretching the dish to save on cost? But the biggest letdown was service. It took over an hour for the rest of my family to get their food, and the servers accidentally gave our pizza to another table that arrived way after us. Worse? No one acknowledged the mistake for the longest time -- no explanation, no update, no apology. We sat there waiting, wondering why tables that arrived after us were being served while we were ignored. Communication was nonexistent. As we were finishing, the lady server finally apologized. She admitted they've only been open two months and this was their first truly busy night. They comped the misplaced pizza and gave us a few free desserts (which we tried once we got home and were NOT good at all!). It was appreciated -- but honestly, it came too late to salvage the experience.There was 1 male server who didn't even acknowledge, apologize, or say anything to us before we left. This place has so much potential -- the vibe and location are fantastic -- but until they figure out kitchen timing, portion value, and especially service and communication, it's not worth the long wait or the frustration. However, I'll give 2 stars for owning up to the mistake. Maybe give them a few more months to work out the kinks. But right now? I can't recommend it. read more

I came here for a Sunday lunch. We ended up getting 2 pizzas to share and a tiramisu. I came here before and got the sausage pizza which was AMAZING along with the fried olives which was really interesting but I love olives so I liked it. The margarita wasn't my favorite. I thought the sauce was a bit thin. The truffle pizza was on the sweeter end but I liked it for not liking truffle as much. The tiramisu didn't really taste like tiramisu and the panna cotta was very creamy I loved it. Diamond served us and she was super sweet and bubbly. Went to the outpost for the first and was able to find parking right in the front. We were welcomed to friendly service and seated right away. We order the pepperoni Calabrese pizza, 2 Caesar salads and 2 lavender lemonades which all came out quickly (pics listed). We came to The Outpost for a late lunch/early dinner around 4:00 PM, excited to finally try a spot that had been on our radar. Upon walking in, we were warmly greeted by the staff, which was a great first impression. Unfortunately, that enthusiasm quickly met some bumps. Right off the bat, we were told that they were out of ingredients for all of their starters, the Caesar salad and several key toppings for their pizzas, including basil and peppers. That meant no Margherita or Sausage & Peppers pizza as advertised on the menu. The chopped ensalada salad also had to be altered, substituting kale and spinach for the usual greens. Adding to that, when I ordered a glass of Sauvignon Blanc, I was told they didn't carry it. It was a little frustrating to hear all this upfront, especially when we came in excited to try specific items. That said, we chose to stay and be flexible and I'm glad we did. The modified chopped ensalada salad turned out to be a highlight. The combination of jicama, red onion, black beans, corn and the substituted greens was fresh, flavorful and well balanced. It didn't feel like a "backup" option at all. The sausage (no peppers) pizza had a nice kick to it and the pesto drizzle added great flavor. Even without the listed ingredients, it was a solid pizza. But the real winner was the pepperoni pizza. Hands down one of the best we've had in a long time. Perfectly crisped, great sauce and a generous amount pepperoni. To finish off, we had the mini dessert flight and it did not disappoint. The carrot cake had just the right balance of spice and sweetness, layered with whipped cream mousse and crunchy walnuts. The strawberry shortcake was light and refreshing and the chocolate cake was rich and indulgent. All in all, it was a mixed experience. The food we did get was excellent but the number of unavailable items was hard to overlook. I genuinely hope The Outpost gets their supply management sorted out soon because the food and staff show a lot of promise. I'd hate to see them lose business or damage their reputation over something that's fixable. We'll be back and hopefully next time, with the full menu available. read more

For starters I'll just say that I LOVE Condron & I've been so excited for The Outpost to open up since they announced it in 2023. Yesterday was their grand opening so I definitely had to stop by. First and foremost, the space is beautiful. I love the aesthetic of this new restaurant and there's plenty of seating. It's very spacious inside, bright and welcoming. I stopped by with my fiancé & best friend, we decided to order the Classic Margherita to share. It was so delicious! The cheese was the perfect amount and the sauce tasted good. We realized they had a dessert menu which offered a flight of 3 for $20. We got 2 tiramisu's and 1 salted caramel cheesecake. The tiramisu was really good & had a cute presentation. I did wish there was more of the sponge cake consistency, it was more of the fudge at the bottom. Very sweet but tasty! My best friend's order was the salted caramel cheesecake, although she enjoyed it she felt the caramel was too overpowering. I tried it as well and it was very very sweet. Maybe less caramel in the future but she still enjoyed it! Staff were also nice & excited to welcome customers in. Overall, I'd definitely come back and try more of the menu. They did just open so I know they'll probably get even better as time goes on. I originally wanted a chicken Cesar salad, but guess what... they had no chicken? "Unfortunately we have no chicken we can serve you the salad only" I immediately had to change my expectations, I got a calzone. She asked for ranch and she was given it immediately (for free) I then mentioned if I may have some ranch on the side as well, (from a different worker) she mentioned that she would have to charge me a dollar. Im not sure if we arrived at a bad time-- arrived at 6:40, two other parties seated--but I can only truly give this experience 2 stars. We were really hopeful and excited to eat here for dinner! I will say, the ambiance is very nice and the restaurant has a cute earthy aesthetic going for it. We ordered an Outpost Margherita pizza and an appetizer, and a diet coke. We spent an hour waiting, and when the food did come, it was the pizza first. We got the appetizer as we were almost halfway done with the pizza. Which, by the way, the appetizer is meant to come before the main meal. The pizza itself was pretty good but it was disappointingly cold, and the crust tasted and felt not completely done. The bruscetta was okay. 8 thin slices of bread with a bowl of vinegar, oil, and diced tomatoes (?). My main gripe about this is the service. They couldve stopped by at any time they were refilling our drinks while we were waiting to give up a heads up, to say "Hey, the food's taking a little longer than expected, Im so sorry", or something along those lines. The crust on the pizza is perfect I will be asking for a drizzle of honey next time. The salad was fresh and flavorful but the OLIVES are like little balls of crack, I could eat a bucket! We finally made it to The Outpost! It's only been open a few months. Decor is simple, clean and modern. It's located on a quaint street with many local small businesses. Parking in on the street or in back of the restaurant. Easy access from the freeway. Pizza was great! So good my son keeps asking to go back. Salad is also great. Finally a delicious artisan pizza place in Riverside that's not a chain. It was delicious but it was not the best artisan pizza I have had but it's good for Riverside. The Marinera sauce on the margarita was bland. They had to come back twice to tell us that the charcuterie board was unavailable and then they came back and said the fried olives were not available. It was odd because we were there at dinner time. I think they are still figuring out how much food to stock up. The ambiance needs some changes. It is too bright, and white. It felt like a cafeteria, sterile government building, or a hospital. The color scheme of brown and green is great, but the stark white walls and ceilings are headache inducing. The service was great. The server recommended the burrata and it was amazing. We had the green goddess salad and the dressing I homemade. It was all very good. The pizza crust delicious. I tried the outpost yesterday and it was pretty good. I had the pepperoni Calabrese pizza, Caesar salad, and focaccia bread as a starter. The focaccia definitely needs a little something to add more flavor to it, and ours was cut into giant squares and wasn't warm. The pizza was good. I would definitely get it again. I want to go back to try the margarita pizza. The Caesar salad was also pretty good. All of the employees were welcoming and nice. I would like to add that they could be a little more attentive. We had asked for a soda and it was never brought over to us so I had to ask again. We also had to keep asking for more water. The dessert was really enjoyable. We had the trio. I can't remember the names but we had the peanut butter option, strawberry shortcake, and the passion fruit panna cota. Here me out "deconstructed s'mores cup" please consider it. Food is great but the service has been terrible the last two times. Both were to go orders. We ordered online because their phone was disconnected so we couldn't call in. Both times I tried to call before I drove over to see if the pizza would be ready and the call would just not go through. So I get there at the online pick up time and each time I am told it would be another 15-20 minutes. The second time the waitress spoke rudely. They should send texts or emails to pick up orders when their food is expected to be done or at least have a working phone so people can call. read more
