Prior to the move, they worked with us to downsize and create a layout for the new apartment, which helped my mom visualize what her new home would look like. On 'move day' Ron was with us from beginning to end, supervising the movers, doing last minute packing, and helping to set up the new space. This enabled me to focus on my mom and ensure she was having a comfortable day. Both Karen and Ron were extremely compassionate, efficient and a great pleasure to work with. The Move Maven was literally a life saver for us. We can't thank them enough for helping us to get thru this insanity. We needed all the help we could get. We'd been living in our place for 36 years and just had way too much stuff to move all of it 2000 miles. Move Maven helped us go through it all. They know all the agencies around town that take donations of different kinds of stuff, and a guy with a truck who will take away junk that nobody wants. They even sold a couple of items on eBay for us. They recommended a moving company that worked out great. They helped us get organized, and kept reassuring us that it would all go well. Having to pack up my parents apartment after they entered a long term care facility was completely overwhelming for me. I needed specialized moving services because I couldn't be in town during my move. Karen and Sarah spent several hours getting to know me, my likes and dislikes and lifestyle, and then she and her team went in unsupervised, packed up all of my belongings, managed the movers, and unpacked and placed everything in my new home in logical, easy-to-find locations. The Moven Mavens did an absolutely fantastic job of organizing my apartment. After living in the same place for twenty-one years I had accumilated so much stuff and it was hard to get in the corners and vacuum up the dust. The Move Mavens carted some stuff to be thrown away but donated most to Boomerangs. One small siver cup that I bought at a yard sale for one dollar fetched over one hundred dollards when Karen sold it for me to a metals dealer. She and her assistant installed curtains for me, hung up a lampshade, and cleaned out my closets. They even helped to organize my filing cabinet. Furniture was moved around and now I have a much nicer home in which to live. I would recommend the Move Maven to anybody. read more

I was very happy with the services of The Move Maven. They are clearly experienced with moving people who are elderly and in need of TLC in addition to the work of packing and moving. They worked kindly with my mother as they packed her apartment, and took care of all packing and unpacking, and setting up in the new place (assisted living). They thought of things she would need (like a shower curtain or trash bucket) and even got them for us so they would be there once my mother arrived at the new location. They stayed in touch over the move planning and the move day. They did all the interactions with the moving company. There is no way I could have done this without their help.
