The atmosphere was fun, utilizing retired ride vehicles as booths and playing into the park setting. As expected in Hershey, the menu explored how chocolate can be integrated into a very American menu. I enjoyed the pulled pork grilled cheese: the chocolate barbecue sauce reminded me of a lighter molasses-based sauce so it worked with the barbecue. We had the Ferris Wheel appetizer which was mostly a win, but the items could have shown up on a TGI Friday's menu. The next day, to escape the millions of middle schoolers in the park (I have a whole travelogue brewing for that) we came back because I wanted one of their gigantic milkshakes. The Reese's peanut butter shake was peanut butter to the Nth degree, and it was topped by an entire slice of peanut butter pie. My friend got a stomachache but I love anything peanut butter so this was a win for me. Both times the service was really good. That said, let me break it down. Ambiance: 4/5 Context matters here. In the wintertime, you walk in and it's dark, cozy, and has legitimately good steakhouse vibes. In the summertime though, those vibes basically disappear. So call it a 4.5 in the winter and closer to a 2 in the summer -- we'll average it out to a 4. Still probably one of the better ambiances in the Hershey area, which isn't saying a ton, but credit where it's due. Service: 5/5 No complaints here. Multiple waiters coming around, water always filled, attentive throughout. Great job. Food: 3/5 This is where it gets complicated. The steaks -- they know how to get the cut right and cook it to your requested temperature, I'll give them that. But if you've been to top tier steakhouses, you know this isn't one: the plate is not piping hot, the steak not bursting with flavor, kind of dry, not juicy, not the best crust. The sides deserve some credit though -- the potatoes au gratin and asparagus are pretty solid. However, I ordered the red snapper, which came with mushrooms and a puree, and the sides were so small you could barely see them under the fish. The fish itself was cooked well, though I personally like my fish with some kind of juicy base. That may just be the style here. Overall: 3/5 Look, Devon is the best steakhouse Hershey has to offer -- but you have to keep that context in mind. If you're holding it to a high steakhouse standard, it's going to fall short. Consistency is the biggest issue. Some nights are better than others, and at these prices, that's not acceptable. Go in with the right expectations and you'll have a fine time. Go in expecting a top tier steakhouse experience and you'll leave disappointed.

First impression: Rustic, clean and friendly. The evening was so beautiful we were able to sit outside on the patio. Very inviting atmosphere and plenty of space. I ordered a red sangria, like I order everywhere I go and am always disappointed. This one made me smile and is the reason I keep ordering them. Yum! Charred Brussel sprouts were soft but crispy, salty with a savory duck fat flavor and baked Brie with figs and apples and toasted crostini with a tart balsamic glaze was mouth watering, but could have been a little more hot and melty. Entrees were crispy skin salmon cooked perfect and came hot! Brisket for my hubby was Smokey and had a thick sour creamy horseradish sauce that was excellent. And we forgot to leave room for dessert but there was one that was highly recommended by 2 of the servers. Cinnamon toast bread pudding! I don't even like bread pudding. There were some crispy bits of caramelized sugar on the encrust. Licked the plate! So I guess I like that bread pudding. And my favorite part was everyone we came across was sooo nice, smiling and really seemed to like working there. I felt like we were eating dinner with friends. Finally a place that makes better food than I make at home so much so that I would love to get a few recipes and worth the price. Can't wait to come back! read more

Yesterday, I hosted a party for my wife's 40th Birthday in one of The Mill's private event spaces. In the months leading up to the event, I've had many communications with Nicole, the event space coordinator, and she made it such a pleasant and easy experience for me. Not once did I feel as if I was ever a bother with the questions I asked leading up to the event. Marcus and Amanda were the bartenders/attendants for both the beverage and food service and they went above and beyond! They were very attentive to our approximately 50 guests and I heard so many of the guests mention how great they were to make it a wonderful experience. The quality of the food was exceptional and the rustic atmosphere and cleanliness of the event space was second to none. I originally looked at a few other venues in the Hershey area leading up to selecting The Mill and now that the event is over and was a blast, I know I made the right decision. Nothing compares to the value of the atmosphere of the facilities, quality of service, quality of the food, and location. I, and I know many of our guests will be back to The Mill soon. I highly recommend visiting for a meal or hosting a private party there! read more

Had a great experience at The Mill in Hershey! It's a great spot to relax, grab some good food and drinks, and enjoy the atmosphere--especially on a hot summer evening. * Stopped in for some happy hour drinks and calamari, and both were great. * The atmosphere was excellent, with a comfortable and inviting vibe. * The food was good, but the service was even better. Our server was attentive, friendly, and really made the experience stand out. * It was the perfect place to cool off and unwind after a hot summer day. * Great spot to meet up with friends for drinks, a bite to eat, or a casual evening out. Overall, The Mill is a great addition to the Hershey dining scene. Good food, a relaxing atmosphere, and excellent service made for a really enjoyable visit. I'd definitely come back again! read more

A friend and I wanted a few drinks and appetizers Friday night, so we decided to enjoy the night out in the patio area. We arrived at 4pm and we were rudely approached by a server telling us we could not sit in the patio area since they have the tables saved for 6:30pm. No one was sitting outside, ALL the tables were empty! I explained we only wanted to enjoy a few drinks and a couple of appetizers, but she said at 6:30, we would have to leave the patio area so the server said it's not a good idea for us to sit outside. I have NEVER been told we couldn't sit outside, while all the tables were open. The customer service at this restaurant isn't even a 1!! If I could rate them, it would be -10. I do not recommend this restaurant, don't waste your time and money. read more

I went with 2 girlfriends, as a "treat" before the James Taylor concert. The staff was very friendly, courteous, and helpful. Our server was JAKE and he was great! The building is very unique, industrial yet sort of rustic. We started with the cheese, fruit, nut plate as an appetizer, which was different and very good. I had the Romesco ----delicious! Also a very generous portion. We also appreciated the fact that when you order a glass of wine, you get a glass of wine (not 3 or 4 oz.). Prices are in line with the excellent quality of the food. Only complaint is the noise level when it got crowded ---but then again, everyone was excited to see Sweet Baby James! We had a great meal and would definitely return. read more

Our women's club had a wonderful holiday luncheon at The Mill in early December. We planned the luncheon for 50 people with the help of the Sales Manager Nicole Schlesman. We held the luncheon buffet on the 3d. floor in the restaurant. The space was beautifully decorated, the perfect size for our group, and easily accessible via the elevator. The buffet was served in an area adjacent to the tables. We also had access to a full bar. Everyone had plenty of room to move about and socialize. The food was delicious, and service was attentive. Our servers were friendly and attentive so we never felt we were being ignored or passed over. A+ in the service department.

I got the pulled pork grilled cheese on sourdough but it just didn't taste as good as I was hoping. Not horrible, not great. My husband got the salmon and he enjoyed it. Our waitress was so awesome! She was very personable and professional. The food came out hot and well plated. The pancakes are huge and literally are the best we've ever tried. We could only eat one they were so big. My meal was the country 3 egg omelette with sausage gravy and potatoes. I opted for sour dough bread and a side of crispy bacon which was not greasy and cooked perfectly. You get three strips. The establishment is extremely clean and a few minutes from the Hershey Road Rv campground we stayed at. They cut breakfast off at 11am which we found out the previous day. I'd like to come back for dinner at some point. This place is a must try.

There was fruit, yogurt parfait, baked oatmeal, tater tots, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, biscuits,, sausage gravy, pastries, French toast sticks, waffles, and an omelet station. The food was good. The service was not their best. We waited 10 minutes for our server to offer us drinks & we had to ask the hostesses for creamers. Pros: The price for the buffet was reasonable. The baked oatmeal, waffles & omelet station were good. Cons: the dessert menu was very dirty. The bowl that had the creamers was dirty & had an open creamer in it. It wasn't restocked with a variety of creamers. Maybe it was an off day for the staff.

The Lad was back from his expedition to the desert, and so the riverside view was appealing for many reasons. We talked about protecting Aboriginal relics in the southwest and testing tribal remedies against similar African homeopathic treatments from his nine-month journey across the world. This was the lad's first meal back in the States. We came straight from the airport. The River Rocks looked tasty on the menu but were even better out of the bucket. Sausage, cheese, marinara, and pepperoni - like Stromboli bites with just enough salt and juice to satisfy. They were HEAVY, which made us glad to have only ordered the six and not the ten count. The Lad ordered a massive burger (see photo), which he devoured faster than he should have. He said it was the best burger he'd had in months. The fries were abundant and flavorful. The cocktail was on special - the name escapes me, but it resembled concentrated OJ in a margarita glass. The Lad enjoyed it with the burger. It wouldn't be my choice to pair with the dish, but to each their own. I had chicken sliders, which were moist inside with a delightful, crunchy breading on fresh slider rolls. The chips were the least appealing. They were dipping chips, which worked with the marinara from the River Rocks, but beyond that represented a LOT of blandness on an otherwise great plate. Our server was fantastic and fast. The restaurant was clean and bright, especially on this beautiful afternoon. It is not inexpensive to eat there, but definitely worth it.

We did ended up waiting a good while to get seated even though half the sections looked empty. I'm guessing they were short staffed that evening because the place wasn't slammed. Once we finally sat down though, things picked up quick. Our server was friendly and the food came out fast. The burger was no joke, thick, juicy, and cooked just right. My co-workers also ordered pizza and that crust was spot on: nice crunch on the outside but still soft and chewy where it counts. The fries were crispy too, and dipping them in the BBQ sauce was straight up addictive. Everything had good flavor and felt fresh. I definitely would go back when I'm in the area. Solid spot for a casual business meal or just grabbing a good burger and beer.

The building itself clearly carries history -- I actually had to duck slightly to pass through the low stone archway leading to our table. It added to the character and intimacy of the space. We started with the tuna tartare, which was a standout. I'm "that aunt" in the family -- the one who encourages the kids to try new things -- and this dinner was my monthly outing with my nephew. So yes, raw tuna hit the table. It turned out to be the perfect introduction. Fresh, beautifully prepared, and approachable, it made trying something new feel effortless. A total win. He ordered chicken nuggets, and while that might sound simple, they were clearly house-made, fresh-cut, and thoughtfully prepared. For chicken nuggets, they were excellent. My scallops, unfortunately, didn't quite land for me. The accompanying preparation felt overly complex and ended up overpowering the natural delicacy of the scallops. That said, the menu offers plenty of other intriguing options, and I'd absolutely return to explore more. Service throughout the evening was kind, attentive, and prompt -- exactly what you hope for during a relaxed dinner out. Overall, a warm, character-filled spot with standout starters and welcoming staff. Looking forward to the next visit.
