Date Night
Kathryn C.

The first time I came I had an amazing experience. I was impressed so I came back the second time. Got the same thing and it was different. The first time I came more energy was put into the food and presentation. The second time it was just slopped on my plate. Also , I asked for a strawberry margarita and the server Kristen gives me the blood orange one. It even had an orange in it. When I asked her again for a strawberry margarita she said "I'll make it more red for you" and just added more syrup into the drink. I've had many strawberry margaritas before and none of them include oranges. Kristen gave me the blood orange drink, then instead of remaking it just added stuff to it. So I had a blood orange margarita with red syrup. Not what I ordered but I'm glad it was $7. If I want a real margarita and nice food I'll go to longhorn steakhouse.

Exceptional service and excellent customer service!! Wait staff was phenomenal!! Very welcoming and friendly!! Food was amazing-- hats off to the chef and kitchen staff!! Now this place boasts that it is right from farm to table. And indeed it is surrounded by more farms than I have ever seen in one place before. It does happen to be adorable on the inside and outside. Too bad the food isn't good. This place could be dynamite if the food were good. My starter side salad had many old greens in it that were bad and congealed. The tuscan shrimp soup had no shrimp in it. It was described as "edible" (not exactly high praise). My mahi mahi entree was mostly cold but I was starving and ate it anyway. There was some unidentified debris in my risotto that I picked out. It was not the texture of cheese, and if it were it would have melted into the rice. The kind and energetic waitress did say that all the desserts were house made. I'm not sure I believe her. The creme brûlée lacked almost any discernible flavor, though the texture was really good. Guys, use real vanilla beans if you make it yourself! Makes all the difference in the world! Charge more even to cover the cost, whatever. Very meh overall, I was really disappointed.

This is the third time we've been here. We travel from Lancaster for the great food. I had the Tajin Mango Salmon, it was moist and very tender. Also a rice pilaf that was very good. I like the ambiance, it's a little of everything. The service is fast and thorough. We'll definitely be back.

Great service in a relaxed setting and I cannot stray from the Crabber because it is just so very good! Also tbs mixed drinks are quite good and the Crème Brûlée was delicious

Haven't been to the Bluebird for almost 20 years. It has changed a bit since the last time I was there. My husband and I went for dinner on a Saturday evening and wow, it was busy. They definitely need more parking. Overall our meal was really good, service was a bit slow and it is a charming place. I gave it a 4 star due to the parking and slow service. But we will be back.

Yummy appetizers!

Stopped in before dinner on a Saturday night. We had a short wait to be seated, maybe 10 minutes - not bad. Our server was attentive and helpful with recommendations. Their cocktail list was great - between the two of us we enjoyed the seasonal mule, a gin & jam, the sugared pomegranate margarita, and a smoked bourbon drink. We split some appetizers - my husband loved the Blue Bird Brussels, I enjoyed the pierogis, and we split the pub fries. The pub fries were great and definitely had a kick to them. This is one spot to save room for dessert. We split chocolate mousse and the bourbon bread pudding. I will be dreaming of that bourbon sauce - absolutely amazing. We are looking forward to adding this to our rotation and can't wait to stop by in the summer when the patio is open!

Blue cheese steak - Brussels sprouts were good too.

I enjoyed my lobster roll and my husband things the bleu cheese steak is tasty. We ate on the covered outdoor deck which was enjoyable. We did call ahead to reserve a table. Even on a weeknight I have seen this place BUSY.

Such a pretty place inside, love the vibe. Went here on a Saturday night, was seated immediately. Good menu selection, and our waitress was friendly. Food came out very quick. Wings were burnt and too crispy, to the point where they looked black. My caesar salad was great though and had just the right amount of dressing.

Seafood du jour

Incredible place nestled in the corn fields. Seafood du jour soup was amazing. Mahi tacos filled with great flavors. Banana foster old fashion was smooth. The bread pudding was a bit on the sweet side but very tasty. Wonderful live music as well.

History of the Blue Bird Inn

The Blue Bird Inn is a historic venue and has been in operation since the 1800s. The food is excellent and the menu is varied and includes local cuisine. The beer menu is constantly changing and offers some local brews (as well as national breweries). I enjoy going in for a pint or a meal. They have a lot of tvs in the bar area and I've watched a few big games here. The ambiance is essentially three restaurants. Immediately inside, you have a brass rail style bar that could maybe be called a sports bar because of how many tvs they have. The dining area in the original building is old school inn, feels cozy, and is much quieter. The outdoor area is more of a tiki feel with huge umbrellas and a 15-seat outdoor, full-service tiki bar. Whatever you're looking for, this place has it! PRO TIPS: - Go for happy hour if you can. 3-5pm M-F half off apps and $1 off drafts. - They offer beer flights

The outdoor seating at the restaurant. Of course, I'm the one making rabbit ears over my partner.

My two friends and I arrived at 5 PM on a Saturday evening and were seated promptly, with attentive service that kept the pace just right throughout the meal. To start, we shared the Brussels sprouts, which were crisped to perfection and elevated by a flavorful green goddess drizzle, herby, creamy, and a great balance to the charred edges of the sprouts. For mains, both of my friends ordered the steak frites, which arrived beautifully seared and accompanied by a bright, zesty chimichurri that cut through the richness of the meat. While the steaks were slightly fatty in some areas, they were cooked to perfection and packed with flavor. The fries were crispy and well-seasoned. I opted for the blackened tri-tip with blue cheese sauce, which was a highlight. The meat had a bold, smoky crust and was complemented perfectly by the sharp, creamy sauce. My dish typically comes with mashed potatoes and vegetables, but I substituted the potatoes for extra veggies. The vegetables were fresh and well-cooked, not an afterthought as they sometimes can be. Altogether, Tony's delivered a reliable and well-prepared meal in a cozy setting, ideal for a relaxed night out with friends.

You have glimpses of the wooded outdoors and paintings of wildlife. There's also a set of bronze climber that's rather quirky. Our party of seven was there to quietly celebrate a 31st wedding anniversary and the restaurant was very kind about our disorganized group. The guests of honor had ordered a Blue Moon Belgian White (served with an orange slice) and waters while waiting for the rest of us. The food was very well prepared. The St. Patrick's Day menu was an early feature & some of us took advantage with a notable option being the Reuben Quesadilla. My mother-in-law was concerned that the sauerkraut would make it soggy. We were pleased that her quesadilla was crispy & she said it was a generous amount of corned beef. Father-in-law ordered the Roast Beef #3, which is described as "Served hot on thick sliced sourdough, and smothered with fries & gravy". It was, indeed, smother in gravy and looked like a very generous portion to me. A couple other dishes were the Cajun Style Chicken Alfredo and Shepherd's Pie. I was informed that they were great dishes and sister-in-law-to-be claimed it was a better shepherd's pie than she could make at home. High praise! We had the Fish & chips. The haddock was a large filet, the batter was a good ratio to the flesh and the fry was a great temperature. There was no excess of greasiness. The chips and fish were very crunchy without being dried out inside. The tartar sauce was unremarkable, but the coleslaw was perfect; tangy with vegetables that had a crisp crunch. Our waitress was very patient with our little one; the pickiest of us declined anything except a beverage until it was time for dessert, which was a kids vanilla ice cream, with sprinkles. I ordered a Lemon Berry Cream Mascarpone - a white cake with a delicate crumb, delicious cream filling, tart cranberries and sweet blueberries. Absolutely the best dessert I've had in Pennsylvania. The rest of the party ordered Cheesecakes and Irish Bread pudding. There were no complaints to be heard.

Roast Beef, simply great! The Guinness Burger was very good, great taste. A lot of places are going smash burgers route, but this style of burger is definitely better. The fries were average, definitely had better. Biggest knock that brings it down to a 4 star is the price for the the food is a little on the higher side. Overall good place!

We were told the wait staff was very short handed, but I can say, they still did an awesome job at keeping drinks full, getting food out, and just checking in on the guests, especially since it was getting busier as we left. When it came to the food.... Chicken tenders with buffalo sauce: to me, this was probably the best thing, even though there was nothing special. The mild sauce really did not have much heat to it, for me that's a good thing, but my boyfriend wasn't too impressed Mac and Cheese: This was very bland, just nothing that made me want this again. I feel if they added in maybe another type of cheese it could have done something to the dish. My boyfriend added steak to his mac n cheese and it was over-done to him. Baked potato: it looked old and not very appetizing just by the skin French Fries: These were very different and had a sweet taste to them. I can say I was not a fan of these, but my boyfriend thought these were the best part of the meal. Overall, the service was very good based on the shortness of help, but the food was just average and nothing I would need to go back for.

I was so thankful for the friendliness and responsiveness of the owners and set it to meet my family here. It exceeded expectations and is a great place in general to come with friends. Located in an old grocery store, the restaurant and beer bar is completely new. The main area has various sized tables and a few bar seats at the back. Everyone orders at the counter, so separate tabs are fine. They have a great draft beer selection, other drinks, and a fun food menu of smash burgers and cheesesteaks. I ordered the spicy cheesesteak and it was one of my favorite meals of the trip; prices are reasonable for the large portion size, you can easily share one. The bartenders were all welcoming and friendly, everyone working served whoever came up so it was efficient. To the left are refrigerators with packaged beer to go. Behind those are a hallway to the restrooms with mostly macro beers to be enjoyed at the location. This also leads to a really fun game room with pool, darts, pinball, and arcade games. I'd say my favorite part is the refrigerator to the right of the bar, which has all single cans and bottles to be enjoyed on premises. They have an amazing selection of local and regional craft beer, cans are super fresh. I personally had a bunch of very fresh Trillium, which is an excellent brewery I can't get at home. Overall, if you're a beer fan in the Lebanon area and looking for a bottle shop or fun place to hang out, this is it.
