Located just off of the Penna Tpk (I-76) Exit 266 on PA 72, E & E Family Diner is a casual American restaurant serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The place offers table seating, booths, and counter seating in the bright dining room. The breakfast menu offers egg plates, omelettes, benedicts, scrapple, egg sandwiches, pancakes, French toast, waffles, corned beef hash, baked oatmeal and parfaits. They also offer an AYCE Weekend Breakfast Buffet until 12pm ($14.99 in 2025-more on holidays). The lunch/dinner menu offers sandwiches, wraps, burgers, salads, soup, appetizers, comfort entrees, pasta dishes, and seafood dinners. They also have desserts such as cakes and cheesecake. The prices here seem reasonable. I stopped by E & E for dinner recently. I was seated in a booth and I requested an ice water. For dinner, the Country Fried Steak ($14.99 plus tax) served with choice of two sides (chose mashed potatoes & stuffing). The loaded entree plate came out in 10 minutes after ordering. The country fried steak filled up much of the plate, crispy fried breaded, fork tender beef covered in brown gravy. The mashed potatoes with soft and the breaded stuffing had crisp celery & onion, both smothered in brown gravy by request. After I was done, I asked for the check with Toast QR code, which was $15.89 with tax and before tip. Overall, a pretty good and filling comfort meal which came out very hot. Just had a quick lunch here with two friends. I had a grilled cheese with bacon that was delicious on home made bread. One friend had a BLT on the same bread and the third friend had open faced roast turkey with mashed potatoes. Waitress was friendly even told my friend that the mashed potatoes were not real. This diner is immaculately clean and bright inside. Bathrooms are exceptional and have all the necessary products. I rec if you need a quick bite. Locals were enjoying chili that smelled delish. 1. Food was nice and hot but not scalding. We had breakfast there and it was spectacular. The biscuits and gravy were so good I think they must have sold their soul for the recipe. The Biscuits were so light if the gravy weren't on them, they may have floated off the plate. The gravy was smooth and well seasoned without being pasty. It could not have been better. Don't tell my grandma I said that. 2. We had Eggs Benedict and they did not betray our taste (Catch the historic reference there?). The muffin was perfect and they Hollandaise sauce was excellent. Hollandaise sauce is difficult to make perfectly. It needs to be tangy enough to pique your palate but not so much that it is sour and overpowers the rest of the food. This one was perfect and I would have eaten that chicken or steak. 3. The hashbrowns were crispy and full. They made you feel like you're eating a good Pennsylvania German breakfast. 4. I have eaten scrapple all my life. I have never had it this good before. Im not sure where they get it or what they did but it was so good, bacon should feel embarrassed. The portion sizes were egg-cellent. Im pretty sure most people who eat here do not need to eat for another 3 days. There was nothing weak about the entire breakfast except my ability to eat it all. This place was a bar before and frankly it was in bad shape. the place has been renovated and the atmosphere was very "fun diner" without the overbearing noise level. Last of all, our server, Megan, was as sweet and kind as they come. She and my wife hit it off which makes it a whole lot easier to convince her to go out for breakfast in the future. Megan was prompt and attentive and made us feel like we were regulars...which we will be from now on. read more
