I was actually looking for a local beef burger and yelp recommended this place ( tsk, tsk...yelp) but once I got inside the ambiance of the place (and ratings) made me want to try it! Young lady in the front was super nice. Barista was also very nice. Ordered a ham sandwich, panini, mango smoothie and purple honey lavender (?) iced. Everything was delicious. whoa! thats one reaaally good tomato pie! ive never tried one before so this was a great treat! crust was so good and the tomatoes were fresh and bursting with flavor. So glad we tried their signature dish! Their cookie butter was good but a bit too sweet for me. Like sugary sweet. Ham, mushroom and cheese omelette was okay. However service was great! all the staff we encountered were nice and pleasant. Parking is kinda hard but luckily we came on an early saturday morning so the bank across was closed and the hostess mentioned we can just park there on their lot which we did lol. Third or fourth time here. Always a pleasure, came on Mother's Day actually around 2:30 so we got seated right away. The interior design is very comforting, historic and homey as if you're eating at home with family, a charming and quaint little cafe with surprising amount of space. Unfortunately limited outdoor space but they do have seating outside! Had the pleasure of doing both indoor and outdoor and highly recommend both! Food is ALWAYS delicious. I'm the biggest fan of their tomato pie (think of like a cheesy, tomato combo with a flaky pastry crust)! I crave it from time to time! It's always hot, melty, buttery and delicious. They had a limited menu this day but we still enjoyed all our dishes. My husband got the tomato pie flipper and finished every crumb! They also have the most delicious drinks if you like fancy coffee and chai combos, some fresh fruit lemonades too! Service is always top notch. The mini pie starter was a good choice ( if you haven't had one your missing out) I also got the curry chicken salad , far too much for lunch with the starter big chunks of chicken with cranberrys onion and celery, not too spicy and a herbed scone. Just want you to know that yesterday, your front in the door waitstaff let you down. We were so disappointed with our service. The tall man with an accent was our waiter. We were taking a little time with the menu since we were unfamiliar with it. I asked a question about what were egg fixers and he said Omelettes. I asked for a half n half but did not understand the symbol and "got it" once he pointed it out As unavailable. My son in laws coffee arrived, my daughter's never arrived. Our omelette plates for my husband and I came out...sat on the counter and were returned to the kitchen. They arrived lukewarm later. We waited a long time for our meal and when my daughter's arrived -it was inedible. Too light and gummy inside not fully cooked. We were told just a few minutes..come on it was pancakes. We finished our meal and signaled to the waiter to come over. We cancelled our daughter's order and asked that it be taken off the bill. My husband noted the 3 and 4 staff behind the counter looking at phones and talking together when we were waiting and waiting and waiting several times. This was our goodbye breakfast send off for us to the airport from visiting our daughter and son in law in Lititz. We went back to her home to say final goodbyes as our SIL cooked our daughter something to eat. Really disappointed. I believe they called and got a very non concerned "sorry". Your staff does not seem to understand that the customer experience is what a business is all about. Your waiter was not friendly but matter of fact as if our questions on the menu were a bother. He did not check if he had gotten BOTH drinks delivered and letting 3 people at the table have to eat while one waited and never got their PANCAKES as everyone else finished is not the "it will just be 2 minutes" promised. "We'll do our best to accommodate you" So we moseyed around to the Wilbur Chocolate Store, continued onto main street looking in and out of the stores and made our way back to the café. We arrived early again and since our friends were parking their car we were told to sit in the quiet waiting room off the main doorway. I once AGAIN asked if we could have a quiet spot and another staff member said---"We'll do our best to accommodate you". By then I realized something was off or from a science fiction TV show. You know what I'll make a long story short...................We will not be going back here again. No reason to with all the other large and Yelped restaurants. Service was abrupt- here's your water what can I get you. Small portions, and yes lower prices........but better order a side of something and share it. The carrot fries are not worth the extra upcharge in my humble opinion. Before you know it the check was placed on the table - plenty of empty tables- shouldn't have been so rushed. They don't have a parking lot so bring lots of quarters. AND you know what they no longer have grit cakes............the slice of herb scone you get was good but more like a piece of finger food size. And the noise was unbearable upstairs..............DON"T sit next to the window or you'll have the sun in your eyes the whole meal. Also you can't turn around in the bathrooms downstairs. I absolutely adored this place. This town in general is super cute but I felt like this cafe was the icing on the cake. The staff was super kind and extremely helpful. We sat upstairs which was nice and intimate. It was a great place to catch up and chat. We probably stayed here for three hours and felt so welcomed. I started with a pot of English breakfast tea which was wonderful and such a delight. For my brunch I had the tomato pie with an added side of the rosemary herb potatoes. The pie itself was absolutely incredible. The ratios inside were perfect and the crust was spectacular. I've never had a tomato pie like it. The scone and salad that came with the pie were also great. The scone was the perfect texture and so delicious. The salad was very fresh! The potatoes were seasoned to perfection. Bottom Line: Excellent food and service but an unconfortable atmosphere. My husband and I randomly stumbled upon the Tomato Pie Cafe in Harrisburg a few years ago so when we realized there was also a location in Lititz we were all in for a Sunday breakfast! We both loved our meals. I got the three-cheese quiche and my husband got the Tomato Pie Flipper. The quiche was served with fresh greens and a savory herb scone and I opted for a parmesan grit cake over the other choices of fruit, squash or potatoes. Between the quiche, scone and grit cake its really hard to say what the star of the meal was since all three of those items were incredibly scrumptious. My husband's breakfast, the Tomato Pie Flipper, was sort of like an omelet with tomatoes and cheese inside. He got a side of fruit, some of which wasn't ripe, but he did enjoy his meal and I was happy to take a few bites of his flipper Service was excellent! Our server was friendly and efficient and our food came out quickly. We had various questions on the menu and it was clear she knew the menu very well. We opted to sit inside by the window. We enjoyed the charming interior and views of the park across the way but the noise was a bit off-putting. Sitting close to what I am guessing is a cappuccino machine we had the constant wrapping of the coffee filter on the counter to get the grinds out. We also constantly heard someone yelling for our server from the kitchen. I guess that is their process to let the server know food is up but between the constant wrapping on the counter and the awkwardness of our server being called for it wasn't very relaxing. Something else that I thought was odd was the plastic plates which reminded me of what they use in hospitals. For such a delicious meal I would have thought they would use slightly more refined dishes. If I visit this Tomato Pie Cafe location again I think I would sit outside or get it to go to have a more peaceful atmosphere to enjoy such an incredibly delicious meal. read more

Solid 4 stars. We got takeout brunch for a large group of adults and kids and they did a very nice job. The first question you may be asking is, what is a tomato pie. I think the best way to describe it is to say it is a cross between a pizza and a quiche. It doesn't seem to have egg, just crust, really delicous tomatoes and cheese. It comes with a "savory scone" but as delicious as the tomato pie was, the scone was a miss. It was sort of a soggy, doughy mass that didn't have much in the way of form or flavor. The pie also came with a small side salad with a tasty dressing. At $7.95 for a single or $11.95 for a double, it's a great deal. The pumpkin scone with brown butter glaze was quite good, much better than the savory scone that comes with the tomato pie. The lemon blueberry muffins were good, though the coffee cake muffin was over dry and not that flavorful. One of the real highlights was the pretzel breakfast sandwich. You can get raspberry honey mustard or sweet sriracha sauce. I went with the sriracha and it was fantastic. The mile spice and tang balanced with some honey sweetness perfectly complimented the eggs, bacon, cheese and spinach and the pretzel role was divine. The kids got the rainbow french toast from the kids menu which was fun looking and tasted good but really could have done with a little accompaniment. It was literally just two lonely pieces of toast in a container. I would suggest tossing in a little fruit, if for nothing else just to make it look less plain. All in all I would go back, especially for the tomato pie and the pretzel sandwich. read more

This place is magical. I came here 13 years ago after my son was born and I got a tomato pie a salad or I can still remember. I absolutely fell in love with the place. We came back here two years ago and it was just as magical my husband got this amazing lavender cake and we had this herb lemonade, we're going back to Lancaster and we're planning our trip around visiting here.
