Roma is a classic pizza joint. They serve Pepsi products, which in itself is just fantastic. Sometimes I lay awake at night thinking about the California cheesesteak sandwich at Roma. The freshly baked roll is sensational. They combine the meat and cheese with pickles, red onion, and lettuce, with hint of mayo. All parts are constructed perfectly. Not too much meat, not too much cheese. It's just right. And the pizza, the pizza is amazing! The family's been making it the same way since the 90's. I ordered a 1/2 pepperoni, 1/2 cheese pie. We usually order Roma subs/pizza/boli every Friday. Everything was perfect for months. Then we had 2 orders in a row that were wrong. When I called, the guy could not understand what I was trying to tell him so I gave up. We stayed away for a while but their pizza is my favorite! Last week the mozzarella sticks tasted like they sat in the freezer for months and tonight the pizza dough was so thin and the pizza was very well done. We were really looking forward to a good Roma pizza...Boy! Were we disappointed. It was horrible! When my husband picked up our order the older man told him they had to make it crispy to get the toppings done but he "thought we would enjoy it". WE DIDN'T!!! It was so dried out and chewy. It looked like it had been baked once and then additional toppings added and baked a second time. It wasn't burnt, just all dried out. Even the cheese was dried out! I was dining in and they only have fountain Pepsi products but coke products in bottles. When I tried to purchase a bottle of coke because I prefer that over Pepsi I was told that's only for takeout. I was expecting great pizza from all the reviews here but honestly it wasn't anything special. Also got a penne Alla vodka but didn't look or taste anything like I normally get. But the one star is not for the so so tasting food - it's because the food made both my husband and I sick! We were on a weekend trip and both of us got sick after eating our dinner. Came in for a quick bite when I was feeling pretty hangry after spending the day furniture shopping in Lancaster. The fact that there were a few groups eating in here was reassuring - can't be all that bad, can it? Why yes, it can. The guy at the counter was pretty rude and looked like he didn't even want to be there. We got two plain slices and sat in a booth. The booth and the table had not been cleaned off - crumbs everywhere. After a few minutes, the guy screamed "slices" and my husband got them for us. They were on two paper plates on a dirty plastic tray. The pizza was eh. More soft than crispy and the cheese looked like the kind in a boxed Elio's Pizza. Sauce was a little sweet, but there were no other flavors except sugar. For $4, my hunger/anger was partially cured. If we ever come back to Lancaster, we're definitely not eating here again. read more

I went there today with my three kids during the lunch rush before we had to go to a doctors appointment. The woman at the front counter was absolutely amazing! I grew up in Lititz and had not been back to Roma's in over 10 years, and the addition of this woman was an awesome one!! (Not that the guys who always work he counter weren't always awesome either) she was super friendly, super sweet and with two 2 yr olds and a 5yr old she was so accommodating! She even cut my kids pizza into pieces without a second thought!! The food is your standard yet overly delicious Italian fare, but you will NEVER, I repeat NEVER have bread on your sandwich as delicious as you will at Roma Pizza. Go here. Order a sandwich. I don't know who was working tonight, or who took my take-out order not long ago... But I would sincerely like to thank that person for being an awesome human being! I called 15 minutes before I arrived home after a 4 Hour Drive and explained to them that I had $12 and change left in my pocket but I really wanted a Stromboli, asked how much it was, to which he graciously responded answering.. for a large... and then a small. I realized I had enough cash to afford the small, and maybe even broccoli as well. I arrived to pick up my order and was extremely tired. Everyone in the store was very nice. I asked how much it would be for a side of marinara sauce for my delicious and much needed Stromboli that was just about ready... He gave the side of marinara sauce to me for free, to which I was very grateful to receive! And then, when I got home and opened the box so hungry because of the delicious aroma escaping it... Much to my surprise my small Stromboli had turned into a large one, with the broccoli and the marinara sauce on the side, all for the same price as a small one in which he quoted me earlier on the phone. When I order a pizza and they actually make it for me I love Roma's pizza, but tonight was the second time I've gone home with a pizza that obviously was not made for me. The first time was a few years ago....I ordered a medium pizza, and I got a large pizza....what I think happened is that it was late and they gave me a large pizza that had been made for slices and hadn't been used, or maybe it was one that wasn't picked up. Anyway, I didn't go back for the last few years (there are tons of pizza places I like). I went back for the last week for the first time and got a medium pizza that was delicious, so I decided to go there again this week (Sunday is pizza night lol)....my pizza was definitely not made for me...it was not hot...the cheese was firm not runny....the crust was hard, and the pizza was not saucy, but was dried out. I'm trying to watch my calories and didn't eat all day, waiting to get this pizza. Very disappointing so I won't be going back again. I'm a single person and always order a whole pizza (not slices) specifically because I do not like old reheated pizza. Moral of the story is if you order for take out you might want to specifically tell them you want your food made fresh for you, not leftovers. read more

I had given up on this place due to the inferior quality of their pizza. I recently took my son in there for a slice because we were in a pinch. The service was slow and I had to dab all the grease off with a napkin. Cleanliness also seems to be an issue with this place. The whole time we were there the staff was cursing in Spanish at a louder than conversational level. Emailed the manager after leaving and a few days later received a poorly written response telling me he wouldn't know Spanish swear words if he heard them. He obviously didn't grasp the point. Just want to send some love to Roma as I sit and enjoy one of their amazing hoagies in Pittsburgh. Every time I am home, usually once a month, I am sure to devour my mom's home cooking, but always leave room for pizza, stromboli or a hoagie from Roma. Vito and his staff are the kindest people you will ever meet, and have put smiles on my family's faces for years. Their pizza is the pizza upon which I judge other pizzas, and I've never found one that meets the high standards Roma has set. Perfect amount of cheese, outstanding sauce, and one of the few pizza crusts I do not need to dip in ranch dressing to enjoy. Best pizza and hoagies in town! I love the special sub with mayo. It is my favorite hoagie anywhere. The pizza is super cheesy and huge. The service is fast. I moved away six years ago and every time I come into town, Roma is my most anticipated stop. When I brought friends into town last year for the weekend, they went to Roma every day they were in town.
