Another great place bites the dust. It's been my favorite for years. But there seems to be new management for some time now, and tonight was my final straw. I ordered a sandwich and they told me 30 min. I showed up after 15 and paid. Two kids twiddled their thumbs as it was slow with just a few people picking up orders. After being there for over 15 minutes, the kid who took my money asked me what I was waiting for and it turned out to be the sandwich that had been sitting on the counter for 10 minutes. I complained about this and they just shrugged. As I was walking out the door, the thug in charge just looked at me. I turned back in and tossed the sandwich on the counter and demanded my money back. The 'manager' stormed toward me arrogantly and slammed the sandwich into the trash. He stumbled through the computer, then gave up and gave me back cash instead of trying to credit my card. No sense of service or caring about doing the right thing or wasting my time as food got cold. Just pure arrogance. I can only imagine how little they care about food safety with that kind of attitude when they screw up an order. I won't go back. read more

We ordered a large with double pepperoni and half green pepper. The clerk repeated my order back incorrectly twice (mushrooms, and other things I hadn't even mentioned!) Finally I was able to get my order repeated correctly but ... you guessed it, no double pepperoni and a lot(!) of green pepper on the half that had it. As for the pizza itself, I would call it average. I personally prefer a thinner crust. P&J is a fairly thick-doughy crust, and could have stood another minute in the oven. I have been a few times before, but no longer. Ordered 2 plain slices and a soup, waited 20 minutes (in an empty dining area) only to find out that they had not thrown slices in oven or served my mother her soup. Staff was too busy talking to friends and on their cellphone to concentrate on customer service. Lastly, when I told them we had to go due to holiday commitments, they refunded the $ for the food but charged us for the fountain soda. Really?!?! Do yourself a favor, if you wish to be treated as a valuable customer, don't go here. Either that or pay AFTER you have received your order. read more

By far the best Pizza joint in Elizabethtown. Wonderful, delicious Pizzas, fantastic Hoagies and Subs and when you walk in, the smell of "Genuine Pizzeria" will infiltrate your nostrils and tap dance on your taste buds... in a good way. You don't know what a "Genuine Pizzeria" smells like? Go there now, you will find out. I recommend the Italian Hoagie or a pizza with whatever you want on it, the bread is freshly made and is one of a kind. Just beware, if you eat there once, you may never go to another pizza place. The food is okay, but I see the pizza sit there for ages until they pop it in the oven to a room temp. The mozzarella sticks are always in the form of tough cheese sticks, not melted. They never listen on their orders, and the employees are tolerable. I live very close to this place, so it's convenient to get to, but that's really the only reason I eat here. The food's okay and you get a good amount for what you pay for. The worst thing about this place is honestly the people who work there. If you're not waiting for a woman to get off of her phone and order (in between her sighs of annoyance), you're met with one of two men who both lack a lot in hospitality and tact. I've never even seen one employee smile, and I'm not exaggerating. The service here is only ever given the bare minimum effort, which really brings down your entire experience whether your ordering to take out or eating in. The mood of this place is also off-putting. Don't get me wrong, they keep the place clean, so that's not an issue. It's a combination of many small things that just add up to being thoroughly annoying and not worth the hassle. No matter what you order, you aren't given anything to eat with as you're supposed to go almost into the kitchen to get yourself. Then there's the TV, which is almost always too loud as well as their phone which is placed in the very middle of the establishment so you will have to deal with high-pitched ringing throughout your entire meal. And while only a minor issue, they don't seem to take care of the outside of their restaurant (at least during the winter) because I've seen a number of people slip and fall on the unshoveled snow or unsalted ice patches, myself included. Overall, the food is mediocre, the service is horrible, and the environment is disruptive. I don't recommend eating here unless everywhere else is closed and/or you want to be treated as though you are an annoying task that they need to get out of the way. Save your money or go somewhere else. P.S. Their marinara sauce is so watered down, you might as well order soup. read more

In the area for business and stopped for lunch today based on Yelp rating and comments. I ordered a small regular Stromboli--too much for the average person. Tasty and a crispy crust served w/marinara sauce--very good! They could pay a bit more attention to service--napkins were empty at my table, table behind me was dirty and diet soda at dispenser was empty. One clerk on his personal cell phone after waiting on me while another clerk with the next customer had trouble finding prices on the menu. We love this place!! The staff is very friendly and always makes their customers feel welcome. Their food is amazing, generous portions, and always delicious. The food here is good and the lunch specials during the week are great. Used to go in here for their 2 slices and a soda for $4 lunch deal. The guys in there during the day are great and friendly. However, I stopped going in at night and on the weekends. The people working then have poor customer service. The final straw is when I ordered on the phone. When I arrived they couldn't find the order anywhere and had to retake my order. While waiting I watched a teenager in the kitchen rolling out the pizza dough start to use it as a jump rope while others in the kitchen watched and laughed. If the food wasn't so good and the guys during lunch so nice I wouldn't have kept going back. So I recommend this place, it is really good, but make sure if you go at night there is adult supervision before you order. read more

6 dollar pies on Sunday .... 7 something credit price ... talk about customer appreciation. Wish more spots did these things .. pizza is pretty good for central pa when freshly made out the oven I must say . Also the homemade sub bread really cranks up the quality of a pizzeria sandwich . I might up my rating in a few weeks, as I am going here regularly. But at the moment their web site is expired and even when it was working you could not order a pizza, because they did not have the pizza options on the menu, except for the 'special' pizza. That one costs over 13 bucks for a small. It has far too much stuff on it, in fact it has everything. So in most cases it is far too much. The crust is good, very good. But it is not what I would call thin at all. I used to frequent real Italian pizza joints back in New Joisey, and I like an Italian ambiance. This place has old photo of some village in Sicilia on the walls, but the employees speak Spanish exclusively. There are tables inside, but the decor is spartan and utilitarian at best. And in the winter there is a draft when people come in the door. Only tried two of the subs, which were fine but no different from Brothers down the street, which is a bit cheaper. I was looking forward to this, living so close, and reading some of these reviews. But so far I would say it is pretty ordinary rather than exceptional. It is good enough and I will go back. I hope to discover something they do better than elsewhere, but not so far. These places change, a lot, over time and according to who is working there. The owner started a new place down on the highway and I suspect this one in town has been neglected. read more
