While I was picking up an order from this place, I asked the staff if the food was really good. She said yes. I then asked if anybody ever gets sick from eating it, and she said no. That's how I knew it was a clean place where people actually wash their hands while making food. So, here we are! I went back to visit this place just like I promised--because I never break a promise. I took my kids along with me, and let me tell you, this was one of the best Spanish food spots I've ever eaten at! (The only other place that competes is in Lancaster, but this spot is right in the heart of Steelton, PA.) Now, I must say, we got the stewed steak and the stewed chicken. To my liking, the ingredients and spices weren't the best on the meats. However, the rice and beans were beyond amazing. It was so good that my kids actually asked for more while we sat down to dine! If the kids like it, you know it's really good--especially since my kids normally don't like Spanish rice and beans just because of the color. Overall, the place has plenty of parking. The bathroom is very, very clean, which gives me confidence that the kitchen is clean, too. The meat may be a little bit on the bland side, but the rice is definitely worth getting. On top of that, the staff is amazing--very polite and attentive to every need. The tables could use a little more attention, but I don't think many people sit down and eat inside; most folks seem to be in a rush to get home and enjoy it in the comfort of their own house. Not super hoppy, really well balanced. Blonde stout is another superb creation, Lancaster gets some depth into it that many other breweries can't manage. It had excellent flavor, they made it spicier like I asked, and unlike most places they provided plenty of meat. Great quantity and great taste that I wasn't expecting. I tasted my friend's polenta and it was perfectly balanced with some cheese, not too salty. I could eat that for days. Finally, Eva, our waitress? Wonderful. My friend and I were weighing dessert, we wanted a brownie but not the whole hot fudge brownie sundae. Eva made it work and even split it between heated and cold. What a great server. Props to Eva! I've only ordered delivery, so I cannot speak for the in-store experience, but it is one location that never has a problem being ready when the driver arrives, and the order has not been wrong even when we ask for something non-standard. I can't write an epic poem about the place, but when I'm asked where to get a good sub in the area, it is in my Top 3.
