In today's world, unfortunately that means its a 23 dollar pizza. I have heard amazing things about the detroit style, I would like to get this next time. This time though I got a regular cheese pizza. Nice crisper bottom, thinner crust, savory sauce and a decent size that is comparable to a large at other establishments. Is it delicious? Yes. Is it the best pizza in Lancaster? Hands down. (And I'm from NYC). We already know it's overpriced, and that's not even my main issue. The problem is them frequently running out of things, and that they stop serving slices at 3pm. Your only option after 3 is to buy a full pie. Last time I was there there was a couple eating... he ordered the cheesesteak and she had no choice but to order herself an entire pizza. She ate a slice and boxed the rest. It looked ridiculous. My husband got a cheesesteak and since we were going to a concert after (and couldn't keep 7 slices of pizza in the car) I had to opt for a completely mediocre Caesar salad. I think they pre-prepare the salads because a good amount of my lettuce was brown. I'll be choosing other pizza places after 3pm. read more

Great pizza but the fact you can't buy a slice after 3pm is ridiculous. They really need to change this rule. Especially for people walking by that just want to stop in and try a slice and not have to wait 30 minutes for a whole pizza. And the prices are way too high. This place has me hooked on Detroit-style pies. I got a plain pie for dinner and ended up eating it for several days. They offer a variety of tasty-looking toppings that I'll have to try next time, but even the plain pie is delicious. I just wish they sold individual slices past lunchtime. I went on Sunday at lunch time to try the Detroit Pizza. They claimed to be sold out. It doesn't make sense to be out of the specialty of the house by lunch time. They had a thin crust pizza. It was ordinary at best. The Southern Market has a very nice bar. Parking is an issue though. read more

It's located in its own nook adjacent to the food hall in the beautifully converted Southern Market, which was originally built as a farmer's market in 1888. It's location is ideal for dining in and also has street access for picking up. The interiors are welcoming, and I loved the cute wall art of happy slices of round pie and Detroit style pizza holding hands. I was skeptical of the rave reviews, but was pleasantly surprised. Since the hand-tossed round pie and Detroit style pizza both looked great, we ordered both (plain). The Detroit style has always been one of those rare indulgence types of pizza that I love to try, as most pizza places don't offer it. The round pie was excellent, with a crispy bottom, yet perfectly chewy crust. It is thin enough not to be too heavy, and the sauce and cheese (with a little bit of parm on top) work in perfect harmony for a delicious and satisfying pizza. We all agreed it was great, which is high praise for a group of people that are used to some of the better New Jersey pizzerias. The Detroit style pizza was solid as well, with a somewhat crisp base and nice caramelized cheese on the edges. The ingredients were fresh similar to the round pie, but the cheese lacked just a lot bit of a zest/pop to it, and tomato sauce a bit plain tasting. It was a bit heavier than some of the Detroit style pizzas that I've tried, as most tend to be a bit lighter. Overall, it was still a decent Detroit style pie, and one that I'd order again if I had that occasional craving for that style of pizza. While the winner was the round pie, both were delicious and satisfying. A bonus is that both pizzas held up well in the taste department when reheated, which isn't always the case when a thinner pie is reheated. While these pizzas would probably rate closer to 4 stars in the NJ/NY area, they're probably as good as it gets for this part of Pennsylvania, so don't mind giving an overall 5 star Yelp rating. The guys in the kitchen were really kind and receptive to honest feedback about their pizza, showing they care about the quality of the product they serve, and took time to chat about pizza with me. I'd definitely order from Pizzeria 211 again, and recommend the business to others looking for some great tasting pizza in the Lancaster area. read more

We were in Lancaster for a long weekend and ate here twice. Both times were sooooooooo gooooooood! My husband and I love chicken sandwiches so we ordered the chicken cutlet sandwich the first day. It was very good! The chicken was thick and there was a good amount of broccoli rabe. The hot pepper relish added a nice spice to the sandwich. The second day we ordered the chicken parmesan. They were out if the hot pepper relish so we requested hot peppers and it was perfect! This was our favorite! The bread they use is perfect for both sandwiches. We love sesame rolls/buns.
