Although the fries look like they were overcooked they were not.

I took my mother to Amanita and she ordered a vegan bagel sandwich which was tasteless and made you feel like it was more of a slider. Unfortunately my mother was only able to digest half of it because it got her sick. Her intent was to take the other half home and Doctor it up but she fell ill and threw it away. I got the mushroom burger with fries and it also was flavorless but I was able to pour tons of salt on both sides of the Patty and they worked out fine for me although I'm sure I have a ton of sodium in me now. The fries were great. The chai tea that my mother ordered and I also got to taste was so watered down that you only taste the almond milk. I never knew that could be done to chai tea but they accomplished ruining that as well. I asked for the chef that Lancaster is talking about by the name of Keisha but unfortunately that was her day off. I think I want to go back when she's working because I heard nothing but good things about the food that she cooks out of this restaurant. I will go back but I don't think I'll take my mother back unfortunately she got sick.

I had the privilege of trying this beautiful restaurant in the heart of Lancaster, PA. Set on the corner of Walnut and Charlotte, Amanita has a breathtaking aesthetic and the restaurant is filled with natural light, fresh plants, and a beautiful mural of woodlands and mushrooms. It's a delight just to sit and take it all in. You order at the counter and their menus are located on the right side wall. They have their merchandise for sale, locally roasted coffee and tea leaves, and tinctures from their apothecary. You can get a squirt of their tinctures added to your beverage for ~$1 to $1.50. Their specials are located on the menu on the wall to the right of the counter. I opted for the blueberry smoked thyme shaken espresso and it was one of the best drinks I've ever tried. My girls ordered a strawberry smoothie and waffle that they both loved! The chef was so nice to ask if I wanted their split smoothies in to-go cups for the girls and I was so grateful for her thoughtfulness! My smoked salmon bagel was delicious and paired perfectly with the lightly dressed green salad on the side. I ate every bite and I even tried a few bites of the girls' waffle. Everything was just perfect! The service is astounding as well. From taking an extra minute to answer my questions about their tinctures in my iced coffee that I ordered to-go, to considering my daughters, I couldn't have asked for better. I can't wait for another trip to Amanita to try their shakshuka (as that looked absolutely mouthwatering). Thank you for a wonderful brunch! Absolutely will return!

Breakfast burrito

This was a cool breakfast spot in Lancaster that specialized in mushroom supplements! We got the breakfast burrito, sandwich, London fog, green smoothie with immunity boost and a black coffee. Everything was absolutely delicious and made from local bakeries, farmers, butchers etc. It was really cute inside and everyone working was very nice and helpful since it was our first time. Highly recommend trying!

Chai Latte and Apricot Thumbprint Cookies

AWESOME. Such a cute spot with creative drinks and delicious food. Mini Shakshuka was warm and filling and bread was delicious. Apricot Cookies were so tasty and paired perfectly with the Chai latte (pro tip: dip them in the Chai latte ) Smoked Salmon Tartine was great and the hummus and side salad paired great with the good quality smoked salmon. Everything was just so tasty and I can't wait to go back!!

Shakshuka. Amazingly good. But the whole spread was to die for. What a way to start the day. And the place is just lovely.

I had the shakshuka. Amazingly good. But the whole spread was to die for. What a way to start the day. And the place is just lovely. All the plants are real, and lovingly cared for, which make my heart skip a beat. It speaks volumes tlevel of care shows up on the plate too. Most restaurants could learn a thing or two from this place. I wish we lived nearby. I will be back next time I'm in town. That's for sure.

Vegan feast for two!

I love the simplicity of this place. I can get a delicious brunch with a handful of while ingredients and feel good about it all. Include a tall glass of iced coffee and I'm camping quite happily. They do not skimp on the olive oil, a total plus.

Shakshuka, Breakfast burrito (deconstructed), OJ and Blueberry Cloud Matcha Latte

Such an adorable place! They had a wonderful selection of food and drinks with lots of weekly specials available. The blueberry cloud matcha latte sounded too good to not try and did not disappoint. Really great shakshuka as well with very robust flavors and a lovely selection of sides - greens with olives, hummus, oranges and bread. Service was friendly, timely and attentive. Great place to grab a coffee and breakfast if you're in the area!

Green Smoothie Bowl

My mom, sister, and I came here at 9 am on a Saturdau morning. They have a small section of outdoor seating that was full when we arrived so we sat inside. We walked up to the counter to place our order. They have a lot of beverage options but also have a place to get your own water. All three of us ordered a smoothie bowl, mine being the Green Bowl. It was topped with Granola, coconut, cocoa nips, and chia seeds. We each received our bowls at separate times- I'm guessing because they have one blender and they want it fresh when it arrives to the table. My bowl had a base of spinach, banana, apple, and coconut milk. The spinach was not a strong flavor at all but gave the bowl a beautiful green color. The toppings added a nice textural component to the dish. I really enjoyed it! The staff was nice and the place was clean. They had a section to "Bus your own dishes" after you eat. The decor was very earthley and nature oriented, complimenting the organic and farm to table style of the restaurant. Though my dish was large in size, next time, I would try the poached eggs for a more filling option!

Poached eggs and Shakshuka for 2

Lovely spot, terrific food, and great service. The coffee was excellent as well, I ordered a vanilla latte and my friend ordered espresso. Would love to come back!

This is a tiny spot with a lot of fans, so expect a wait!…read more My husband and I came here for brunch while staying in Lancaster - we were expecting to have to wait due to how busy it was on a Saturday morning, but we were amazingly able to be seated immediately (there were 2 last spots by the door). It's not the most comfortable place due to the size, but the smells and vibes are good, so it's worth checking out. I got the blue crab benedict with potatoes and my husband got the short rib tacos. Service was quick and we were overall impressed with the food! My one gripe is that they didn't have any fun coffee drinks, just black coffee from what I saw.

I started off today so excited to come here based on the reviews. As the service progressed I could…read moresee my review ticking lower and lower. And then we found a hair. And then they charged us full price. And that was the final nail. We made a reservation for a noon brunch on a Sunday, we knew it was going to be busy and we got seated right away, amazing! And then it was down hill from there. We were seated right by the bussing station, I was staring at dirty dishes my entire meal, at one point I was hit and I spilled my entire cup of coffee all over my table and lap and had to clean it up myself. The French press itself was border line in drinkable. The grounds were too finely ground causing there to be grit throughout the entire pitcher of French press. We each had about one mug each. The food came out and my over easy eggs were over medium at best, the entire bottom of the yolk was hard through to the middle. Only one biscuit got gravy. And then once my partner finished his eggs he found a long black hair under where the eggs were. Needless to say we were very much done with The Bread Pedaler by the time this happened. We let the waitress know. She brought the check, which still included the food we didn't eat because there was a hair in it. Not wanting to start anything we just paid (still tipped 20% because I'm not a jerk) and left. I wish this was the great review I was hoping to leave. I was so excited to eat here. But this was truly one of the worst experiences I've had in years.

Introduction:…read more Representing 2018 in alphabet series, O is for On Orange. The letter O only has 5 of the 8 possible years represented in the alphabet series. Interestingly, 2 of them are in Lancaster County, PA. This was prior to my parents moving to Lancaster in 2021. In March 2018, my girlfriend of that time & I took a day trip to Lancaster. I lived in Montgomery County, Maryland (near DC) at the time, and we were meeting up with a friend who was living in New Jersey kind of in the middle. We agreed to meet at On Orange at 12 PM on that Sunday, March 25 since we were driving from far away, and I think they were doing a day trip too, but possible they stayed a night in town, not sure. Also, On Orange closes at 1 PM too, so even more reason to be punctual. My g/f of then was notoriously late & took a long time to get ready. She was taking too long to get ready, and I knew we needed to leave if we even had a chance of making it on time. After a while I said I don't want to do this, but I will leave without you & meet my friend (& his girlfriend). I started the car and texted you have 1 minute to come out, and if you aren't out, I'm leaving without you. My timer reached 0, and I slowly was driving off, but I saw her shuffling with her coat and what have you leaving, so I waited. We got in the car, and I rushed off. If that weren't bad enough, my g/f said we needed to stop at her bank to get cash. Of course, there was none right within route, but saw a location right off I-83 in northern MD, Hunt Valley, but we wasted more time to get off the freeway, for her to go to her ATM, & get back on the freeway when we were running significantly late. I said we are running significantly late as it is, so why are we wasting more time. She claimed in case there was something she wanted to buy in Lancaster, but that was not the primary purpose, but I'll get to that at the end. I was panicking on the significant late, and that the restaurant closes at 1, and I drove above 100 mph at times on I-70, which I think was the only time I've ever gone that fast on 70, and maybe only 4 times ever in my life reaching that speed. Experience with the Restaurant: This is street parking around here, which was free meters on Sunday. We got a decent parking spot a block away. We walked in at 12:50 PM, which was 50 minutes LATE and 10 minutes before On Orange's closing time of 1 PM. My friend & his girlfriend were already done eating. He said that they had their stomach set for eating at 12, and there was pressure to order since it's not a huge place and pretty busy. I was annoyed with my friend for not waiting for us, but I get it because let's be honest, my g/f fault on that one. Server was cordial, and my g/f & I quickly ordered. Food came out quickly. We ate quickly, and my friend & his g/f watching us eat. Food was delicious, and they were quick, but to be fair, they were closing in 10 minutes, so they were motivated to get out of there. I got a pancake & egg dish as I recall. This was a top notch brunch. In spite of the negative experience of being so late because of my g/f, the experience at the restaurant was excellent. Conclusion: After brunch, we looked around downtown, Amish Farm (see my 5-star review of them written in April 2018), etc. and was overall a nice day with the 3 of them albeit very cold. After we left, I took the back road from I-83 all the way back to Germantown, MD where she lived to see something different and to save a little gas too since it's pretty direct going that way. My g/f was complaining about it taking so long getting back. I knew she was meeting up with a friend that night. But what I later realized, she wanted to stop at an ATM that morning really because she needed cash to pay that friend for cannabis that night. So, she disrespected everyone's time for this. I guess on a positive at least she wasn't cheating on me with that guy and really was just for pot. In conclusion, I thought On Orange was top notch, and they were accommodating to our time schedules.

This was efficient because our meal came out and another server was able to grab the items off the robo-server and give them to our table.  The food was very good and portion sizes were equal to the price. We sampled the egg white veggie omelet with toast and homefries, which was cooked perfectly. The home fries were spot on! The eggs benedict were cooked just right and very tasty. We also enjoyed the pancakes and sausage. Very good consistency and flavorful.  A bonus that there was a carafe of syrup on the table instead of the little packets or small bottles.  Overall a great breakfast spot.  We will try their lunch menu in the future.

When we were seated, we were given the prix fixe food menu but never provided with a drink menu. We were served water, but our waitress didn't ask if we'd like cocktails, wine, or any featured Valentine's drinks. For a special occasion dinner, that felt like a major oversight. The bigger issue, though, was the food. Several courses were noticeably undercooked and difficult to enjoy. The carrot salad had hard, undercooked carrots and a very bitter sauce that overwhelmed the dish. The grilled Badger Flame beets were also undercooked and had an unpleasant flavor. The beet risotto was firm and lacked the creamy consistency you expect from a properly prepared risotto. The halibut tasted overly fishy and seemed undercooked in the center. For $75 per person on Valentine's Day, we expected a polished, thoughtfully executed experience. Instead, the meal felt poorly prepared and not worth the price. It was an unsatisfying way to spend what should have been a special evening. The ambiance was very nice but the rest of the experience left a lot to be desired.
