Quick service on a weekday morning! We arrived before 8am and had our food arrive quickly. Within an hour more people arrived and about 4 more tables were full, but we had avoided the morning rush. My strawberry banana açaí bowl was yummy. The granola was perfect with just the right amount of honey drizzled on top. My friend enjoyed her wrap and remarked how nice the sauce was that was on top. She also found some cute items for sale...they have a cute area with jewelry and other small items for sale. Good selection and not expensive. Stopped here with my daughter on a Wednesday morning. There was only one other table occupied when we arrived. I didn't know this place existed before today, but I'd definitely come back. I had the Signature Breakfast Crepe, and my daughter ordered the Maple Bacon. We both got the hash brown side. Everything was delicious! The hash browns didn't have the texture I was expecting, but the flavor was a pleasant surprise. The location is unique -- set inside an older home with a fun, quaint atmosphere and relaxing background music. Overall, a great spot for breakfast. 10/10 recommend. read more

I was in Ephrata for the day and decided to stop in to Griddle and Grind. The place looked cute online so we headed there. The restaurant is in a historic property and it's very pretty. The young lady at the register was very nice and helpful. The crepes were okay. We ordered two different crepes, and waffles. Both crepes came with salsa poured over them. I wish that was made clear beforehand in the menu because I would have asked for it on the side. The sauces / salsas overwhelmed all of the other flavors including the crepe so that I couldn't really taste it which was disappointing. The waffle was entirely too sweet for me. They were served with a red syrup underneath, had crunchy sugar in them, whip cream and then a side of syrup. It was overly sweet. The only thing I enjoyed was the soup. I may return and try other items on the menu since it seems like lot of people do enjoy the food here. I did take issue with the messiness in the restaurant. Upon entering the first thing I noticed was a bunch of maintenance equipment visible in the entry right beside the stairs that looks like it lives there. When we ordered we went through the foyer to the dining room. I was a little caught off guard by the chairs. They are really stained. I didn't want to sit on them. I did not expect that and it killed the vibes a bit. read more

I drink coffee every single day. I grind my own beans for pour over, but I love cold brew and lattes just the same. I had such high hopes for this place, but the hot brewed coffee tasted exactly like cardboard. It was honestly the worst cup of coffee i've had in recent memory. It's unfortunate because the place itself is adorable. The outside has historic charm, they have both indoor and outdoor courtyard seating, and what looked like a decently sized menu. 10/30/22 Updated Review: I was very surprised that this place was open on a Sunday (I don't remember if it was always this way) but most cafes in Ephrata are closed on Sundays. I brought my boyfriend here and we ordered dessert crepes for lunch. I got the Lemon Cheesecake crepe and he got the Pumpkin Spice crepe. Both were so delicious. The Pumpkin crepe came with a scoop of ice cream. We also got a side of seasoned potatoes in a little bowl. For some reason again I felt like the potatoes were underdone. Some chunks still had that raw bite to them when we ate them. I mentioned this in my first review of the place as well. Overall, would come back here again to have another dessert crepe. Also highly recommend the hot caramel latte because it was sweet and not bitter at all. read more

I was driving through and in need of a coffee so I decided to give this spot a try! I ordered a mocha but couldn't really taste any espresso in the drink. It also tasted like they just poured some Hershey's syrup at the bottom of the cup. The quality of the coffee just wasn't great. read more

We stopped here for the crepes! The restaurant is off a main road and we parked in the street and paid a meter. When you walk in you go to the right to order your food and then you get a number stand and you seat yourself inside or out. We choose the cute outdoor seating. It was shady and so comfortable. Our food came out 5-10 minutes after we ordered, so fast!! We ordered the ham & jam crepe with a side of hummus and veggies. The crepe had a thick piece of ham and reminded me of the holidays. The hummus side was very good. I ordered their peach special drink and it was very good! I'd order it again and again. My husband ordered their chipotle steak and eggs crepe. Some bites were spicy and some weren't. He loved it. The latte was very good, but we could not taste the rosemary. It was such a relaxing visit. Opened in late 2018, this business is located in a nicely maintained old Georgian-style house with charming exterior details. The cafe is owned by Sierra Hrubochak and Shayleen Wiker. The ladies lease the house from Ephrata Economic Development Corp. My wife, daughter, her 4 friends and I came here for crepes. My daughter, wife and I got an Apple Crisp crepe, a Peanut Butter Banana Cheesecake crepe and a cup of coffee. The Apple Crisp crepe had fire-roasted Fuji apple slices in a maple brown butter glaze topped with powdered sugar and almond & oat granola. There was fresh whipped cream on the side. The filling was disappointing. There were only 6 slices of apple, which filled less than half of the crepe. The rest of the crepe was empty. There was barely enough glaze to coat only the apples. More apples and a lot more glaze were needed. The crepe itself was not so good that it could be eaten alone. The granola was good tasting but dry. Overall, the crepe and filling had a dry mouthfeel. The whipped cream helped with the dryness. It was mildly sweet and fluffy light. This dessert needs improvement.    The Peanut Butter Banana Cheesecake crepe had a cream cheese filling with banana slices and peanut butter topped with a dark chocolate drizzle. There was fresh whipped cream on the side. There was plenty of filling. This was a rich flavorful dessert! Great flavors all around!    The coffee was strong and slightly bitter. They add creamer if you want it because it's not self-serve. Sweetener is self-serve. They use Little Amps coffee. I didn't ask about the coffee beans that were used. They sell several varieties of Little Amps coffee beans and instant coffee. My daughter's 4 friends tried the savory crepes, and they all enjoyed their choices. Other than the Apple Crisp crepe, we'd like to try more of their crepes. The service was friendly, polite and helpful. Speed of service was quick. The dining areas and restroom were clean. The atmosphere was great if you love antiquish things. This cafe has charm and personality that make it warm and inviting. read more

Woo! A new specialty resturaunt in downtown Ephrata! The Griddle and Grind is located next to Sheldons, and is a Crepery and coffee/baked goods resturaunt. Place your order at the counter, and food will be delivered to your table. Seating of about 8 tables provides a cozy atmosphere. Crepes include hearty breakfast options: Greek, western, egg and cheese, veggie, and steak and eggs. Savory crepes include crab rangoon, monte cristo, cheesesteak, chicken fajita, turkey club, and chicken pesto. And thebest, the dessert- include nutella, caramel apple, smores, berry and cream, and mocha creme. A variety of coffees and smoothies are also available, as are a soup of the day and salads and baked goods. Staff is experienced from other area resturaunts, and the opening Saturday seemed smooth. And the food? I may not be a crepe aficionado, but our Monte Cristo and chicken pesto were very good, very tasty. Coffee from Little Amps coffee roasters in Harrisburg was good as well. We just moved to the area and have checked out a couple of breakfast/lunch spots so far and I can honestly say that this is my favorite place BY FAR. The menu has a variety of savory crepes along with dessert crepes (there are even salads for those who want a quick and light meal)! The dessert crepes even give you the opportunity to add a scoop of Lancaster's very own Fox Meadows ice cream. Don't even get me started on the coffee here. Ok so, I literally dream about these crepes! They are so decadent, delectable and filling! So many amazing combinations of sweet and savory--I can't wait to try them all! The quaint atmosphere is adorably charming and the service was simple and sweet. The green iced tea was super mellow yet refreshing--I wanted to buy an entire gallon! While the signature crepe and pesto chicken crepe have both been top notch, I'll have to tell you my favorite after I try them all! Grateful to have such a gem in my neighborhood. ETA: I have to take a point away because the last time I got a crepe to go, it was really bad. Had that been my first experience, I probably wouldn't have ever gone back. If you blink you will drive right past it. This place is actually a former residence with indoor seating as well as a courtyard in the back. I went there for a last minute Sunday morning breakfast after finding I was out of eggs at home. I had a sausage and egg crepe and it was a great. There was a side of potatoes, sour cream and guacamole. Went with a simple chocolate milk as my beverage although they have a host of coffee, tea and other beverages. I have been meaning to go here since they opened in my small town of Ephrata and boy am I happy I had the time to go today!! The atmosphere of this restaurant is very cozy and clean! The staff were all so wonderful I went just me and my seven month old son so I was juggling him the diaper bag and my wallet, the kinda cashier took the time to carry the the drink I purchased and the silverware to my table for me since she saw I was struggling a little. I ordered the apple pie crepe which was to die for! I've had lots of crepes from various places and this was defiantly in my top three! Their prices are very reasonable and they serve more than just crepes there. I went back for my 2nd or 3rd visit, after being away for a year or so, and not much has changed - which is good. It's still a pleasant, homey space, with a varied menu and friendly service. A few details that caught my attention: (1) The coffee is great. Do yourself a favor and skip the chains. (2) Still no vegan options, although I understand that there's probably limited demand in Ephrata. (3) Big disappointment - take-out is nowhere near environmentally friendly - plastic forks, styrofoam box, plastic bags. I'd gladly pay an extra $ .50 or whatever for something better. read more
