Coffee flights & Crepes
Amandalynn W.

LOVE LOVE LOVED this experience coffee flights and crepes make the perfect breakfast date with your friend, family, lover or yourself! The vibes were absolutely immaculate, food was perfect and the staff was so so incredibly sweet. 10/10 experience, def recommend, will be back again!

I was in Ephrata for the day and decided to stop in to Griddle and Grind. The place looked cute online so we headed there. The restaurant is in a historic property and it's very pretty. The young lady at the register was very nice and helpful. The crepes were okay. We ordered two different crepes, and waffles. Both crepes came with salsa poured over them. I wish that was made clear beforehand in the menu because I would have asked for it on the side. The sauces / salsas overwhelmed all of the other flavors including the crepe so that I couldn't really taste it which was disappointing. The waffle was entirely too sweet for me. They were served with a red syrup underneath, had crunchy sugar in them, whip cream and then a side of syrup. It was overly sweet. The only thing I enjoyed was the soup. I may return and try other items on the menu since it seems like lot of people do enjoy the food here. I did take issue with the messiness in the restaurant. Upon entering the first thing I noticed was a bunch of maintenance equipment visible in the entry right beside the stairs that looks like it lives there. When we ordered we went through the foyer to the dining room. I was a little caught off guard by the chairs. They are really stained. I didn't want to sit on them. I did not expect that and it killed the vibes a bit.

I drink coffee every single day. I grind my own beans for pour over, but I love cold brew and lattes just the same. I had such high hopes for this place, but the hot brewed coffee tasted exactly like cardboard. It was honestly the worst cup of coffee i've had in recent memory. It's unfortunate because the place itself is adorable. The outside has historic charm, they have both indoor and outdoor courtyard seating, and what looked like a decently sized menu. The staff member was friendly and the prices seemed fair. I wouldn't recommend the hot coffee.

Berry bowl and hash browns

This is a great little breakfast spot we discovered on our way to green dragon. Staff was friendly and helpful and the portions are fresh and generous! We would definitely go again. I had their signature crepe and a honey bee latte! My guy had the very berry bowl and loved it. Full of fresh fruit and yogurt. Treat yourself and go here!

10/30/22 Updated Review: I was very surprised that this place was open on a Sunday (I don't remember if it was always this way) but most cafes in Ephrata are closed on Sundays. I brought my boyfriend here and we ordered dessert crepes for lunch. I got the Lemon Cheesecake crepe and he got the Pumpkin Spice crepe. Both were so delicious. The Pumpkin crepe came with a scoop of ice cream. We also got a side of seasoned potatoes in a little bowl. For some reason again I felt like the potatoes were underdone. Some chunks still had that raw bite to them when we ate them. I mentioned this in my first review of the place as well. Overall, would come back here again to have another dessert crepe. Also highly recommend the hot caramel latte because it was sweet and not bitter at all.

We stopped here for the crepes! The restaurant is off a main road and we parked in the street and paid a meter. When you walk in you go to the right to order your food and then you get a number stand and you seat yourself inside or out. We choose the cute outdoor seating. It was shady and so comfortable. Our food came out 5-10 minutes after we ordered, so fast!! We ordered the ham & jam crepe with a side of hummus and veggies. The crepe had a thick piece of ham and reminded me of the holidays. The hummus side was very good. I ordered their peach special drink and it was very good! I'd order it again and again. My husband ordered their chipotle steak and eggs crepe. Some bites were spicy and some weren't. He loved it. The latte was very good, but we could not taste the rosemary. It was such a relaxing visit. A win for us and we will be back to try their other menu items. Thank you for allowing us to have a lovely date,

Dave H.

Service was quick and pleasant. The crepes were delicious and the shop itself was very nice and quaint. We ate at the outdoor dining area and it was nice!

Super cute place and amazing menu! We enjoyed our breakfast and coffees and left thinking, "We will have to come back to try other things on the menu!" You can tell the place really cares about what they are serving.

The storefront has nice architectural features.

Opened in late 2018, this business is located in a nicely maintained old Georgian-style house with charming exterior details. The cafe is owned by Sierra Hrubochak and Shayleen Wiker. The ladies lease the house from Ephrata Economic Development Corp. My wife, daughter, her 4 friends and I came here for crepes. My daughter, wife and I got an Apple Crisp crepe, a Peanut Butter Banana Cheesecake crepe and a cup of coffee. The Apple Crisp crepe had fire-roasted Fuji apple slices in a maple brown butter glaze topped with powdered sugar and almond & oat granola. There was fresh whipped cream on the side. The filling was disappointing. There were only 6 slices of apple, which filled less than half of the crepe. The rest of the crepe was empty. There was barely enough glaze to coat only the apples. More apples and a lot more glaze were needed. The crepe itself was not so good that it could be eaten alone. The granola was good tasting but dry. Overall, the crepe and filling had a dry mouthfeel. The whipped cream helped with the dryness. It was mildly sweet and fluffy light. This dessert needs improvement.    The Peanut Butter Banana Cheesecake crepe had a cream cheese filling with banana slices and peanut butter topped with a dark chocolate drizzle. There was fresh whipped cream on the side. There was plenty of filling. This was a rich flavorful dessert! Great flavors all around!    The coffee was strong and slightly bitter. They add creamer if you want it because it's not self-serve. Sweetener is self-serve. They use Little Amps coffee. I didn't ask about the coffee beans that were used. They sell several varieties of Little Amps coffee beans and instant coffee. My daughter's 4 friends tried the savory crepes, and they all enjoyed their choices. Other than the Apple Crisp crepe, we'd like to try more of their crepes. The service was friendly, polite and helpful. Speed of service was quick. The dining areas and restroom were clean. The atmosphere was great if you love antiquish things. This cafe has charm and personality that make it warm and inviting.

Woo! A new specialty resturaunt in downtown Ephrata! The Griddle and Grind is located next to Sheldons, and is a Crepery and coffee/baked goods resturaunt. Place your order at the counter, and food will be delivered to your table. Seating of about 8 tables provides a cozy atmosphere. Crepes include hearty breakfast options: Greek, western, egg and cheese, veggie, and steak and eggs. Savory crepes include crab rangoon, monte cristo, cheesesteak, chicken fajita, turkey club, and chicken pesto. And thebest, the dessert- include nutella, caramel apple, smores, berry and cream, and mocha creme. A variety of coffees and smoothies are also available, as are a soup of the day and salads and baked goods. Staff is experienced from other area resturaunts, and the opening Saturday seemed smooth. And the food? I may not be a crepe aficionado, but our Monte Cristo and chicken pesto were very good, very tasty. Coffee from Little Amps coffee roasters in Harrisburg was good as well. And, they will be selling ice cream from Fox Meadows! Kudos to the owners Sierra and Shayleen for bring an excellent food option to downtown Ephrata! Steak and Egg savory crepe

This place hit the spot on a crisp fall morning. The steak and egg crepe was great, but it lacked seasoning. All the components were well executed, but it was bland. The dessert crepe, fluffed nutter, was absolutely amazing. Service was quick, efficient and kind. If the savory crepe was seasoned it would be five stars. The roasted potatoes lacked seasoning as well. The true score here is 3.5

The restaurant is small and quaint with a very friendly staff. I ordered the salted caramel Nutella mocha along with the French toast crêpes and hash browns--everything was delicious. My husband had the Nutella crêpes with bananas and ordered two. The waitress gave him a side eye, and for good reason--they were huge! He could only finish one, so we took the second one to go. At $6 each, the crêpes were an amazing value for the size and quality. We would definitely return.

I liked my chicken pesto, my son liked the ham with pineapple, my other kids liked their Nutella with strawberries (obviously) 4/5 Ambiance: Fine. Little folksy bistro setting where you can watch the crepe being made, with 50s crooner hits playing. 2/5 Service: Despite how nice the female server was and how they seemed to want to help us get food immediately, it was one of the most stressful, high pressure dining experiences I've had. The shop was small, but not packed with guests ( for part of it we were the only guests there.) They constantly were talking to us about their menu while we were trying to decide what to order from their huge menu, asking us to buy something we'd said no thanks to a few times (tea), asking us to buy more crepes immediately or get something else, and reminding us to follow their very unique protocol for how to order and then breaking their own protocol. I was completely overwhelmed in the first minute of being there and the pressure didn't relent with the crepe maker yelling out asking us what kind of crepe we wanted while we were just trying to decide. Nothing seemed malicious and they seemed to be aware of making good memories for our kids (gave us chalk, sparks up convo about where we were from, which we liked) but the high pressure made the experience hard to enjoy. (Note: the parking lot is very tight)

We actually ended up grabbing one of the last tables in the place. The atmosphere is exactly what you want from a local coffee shop. It's warm, cozy, and full of energy. You can tell it's a community favorite. We ordered two crêpes and a couple of their February specialty coffees, and everything was fantastic. One of the crêpes we got was the Strawberry Lemon Cheesecake, which was sweet, fresh, and perfectly balanced. It wasn't overly sugary but definitely dessert worthy. The other was a savory crêpe with called California dreamin' with provolone cheese, bacon, spring onion, apples, and arugula with a balsamic glaze and garlic aioli, which ended up being such a great combination of sweet and savory flavors. It was delicious!! Our specialty coffees for the month were also excellent. They had a fun Valentine's themed lineup, and both drinks were rich, flavorful, and clearly made with care. I got the Not Your Sweetheart Latte and Ryan got the Chocolate Heartbreak Cold brew. If you go, one thing you absolutely have to try are their chocolate covered peanut butter balls. They have Rice Krispies in them so they're crunchy inside, and they're ridiculously good. Yes, it's a local coffee shop, so prices are a little higher than a diner, but honestly it's no worse than Starbucks and the quality, atmosphere, and uniqueness are miles better. The moment you walk in, it honestly feels like you've stepped into a little café in Paris. The décor is beautiful and thoughtfully designed, with elegant touches everywhere that make the space feel cozy but elevated at the same time. The staff was also incredibly kind and welcoming, which made the whole experience even better. The seating is mostly table seating (no booths), with a few smaller tables set along a hallway-style walkway that opens up into a larger dining area. The way the space is laid out feels intentional and well designed even though the restaurant was getting a lot of attention while I was there, it never felt crowded or overwhelming. Everything flowed nicely. It's colder right now, so their front deck seating wasn't open, but you can tell that when the weather warms up there's additional seating available outside on the deck, which would be such a nice spot to sit. The bathrooms are conveniently located right up front, which makes them easy to find. Parking is also pretty simple, there's parking available in the back of the building, and if those spots are full you can usually find street parking nearby. Here's what I ordered: Pistachio Rose Affogato * Pistachio Italian espresso * Vanilla ice cream * Crushed pistachio * Edible rose petals * Wafer East Coast Croissant * Cheddar cheese * Bacon * Spinach * Scrambled eggs * House-made garlic aioli * Served with breakfast potatoes My drink didn't just look beautiful , it tasted incredible too. The pistachio espresso paired with the vanilla ice cream was already amazing, but the crushed pistachios and edible rose petals really took it to another level. It was sweet, rich, and full of flavor. The East Coast Croissant surprised me in the best way. I'm usually not a big spinach-on-sandwich person, but I wanted to try it exactly as it's served to get the full experience. I'm glad I did because it completely changed my mind! Everything worked together perfectly, and the garlic aioli added so much flavor. Needless to say, I'll definitely be back. Next on my list to try is their Tiramisu French Toast and the Strawberry Matcha.
