Ahh... what to get, so many yummy pie choices (blueberry, mixed berries, key lime, chocolate chiffon.. small/large/sliced.. with or without icecream.. want a latte? coming right up! I've been eyeballing that peanut butter pie, for quite some time. Massive slices. Sweet tooth, satisfied and then, some. Peanut butter pie, reminded me of a peanut butter cup meets a 3 Musketeers bar; the filling was smooth, fluffy - loved the ganache topping. Too rich to eat all at once. About 15 minutes later, noticed my steamer wasn't made. Uh oh. Inquired up front. Turned out, it wasn't made. I stopped by here yesterday morning with my family for our morning coffee. Whenever we go on vacation, we try to visit a new coffee shop each morning, and on this day we ended up at Lancaster Pie and Coffee. It is a cute little shop located in the Gallery Row area of downtown Lancaster. The inside is small and seats maybe around 20 people. There is a display case full of their pies right up front, and to get to the bathroom you walk down a hallway where you can see them making the pies, which was a nice touch. For my coffee, I went with a coconut latte, and my family decided to split a 4 inch coconut cream pie. The cashier was especially kind to my kids, which is definitely worth mentioning. I tried the pie first, and it was really good. Both the whipped cream and the coconut custard were excellent and really emphasized the coconut flavor. I also appreciated the toasted coconut on top, which added a bit of crunch and a slightly different flavor. As for the coffee, it was good as well. The coffee flavor was bold and rich up front, followed by a coconut syrup finish that had a nice flavor without being overwhelming. The bottom line for me is that I would head back here again in the future. I thought both the pie and the coffee were good, and I would love to try more of their pies. read more

A quaint little shop with a lovely selection of full size, 6", and hand pies. All are made from scratch and the apple pie is hands down the best apple pie I have ever eaten! The crust just melts in your mouth and the apples are perfectly seasoned and slightly tart. It was well worth the hour drive from Maryland!!! read more

Seems almost challenging to heap more praise on this place but here I go. Choices - excellent. Employees - delightful. Flavors - delicious. So you'll likely have to park a block away - accept it and count it part of the experience. Price is concomitant with value. Again, you're unlikely to find anything as good especially in the savory pies. Pardon the bakery puns but accept that it's the way you roll and let the crumbs fall where they may. They are amazing. We were visiting Lancaster and someone recommended Lancaster Pie. We were not disappointed. We found them at Central Market then took the short 5 minute walk to their shop on Prince Street. We had quiche, bbq brisket pie and apple pie a la mode for lunch! Everything was delicious and the crust is so light and tasty! We wanted more. My husband and I stopped in at Lancaster Pie & Coffee for a couple of coffees last weekend when we were in Lancaster. We weren't hungry, so we just stared at and drooled over the pies (they looked absolutely amazing), but the coffee and the customer service were great. I LOVE THIS COMBO! Pie and coffee?? Awesome. My fiancée popped in for hot chocolates (so yummy) and of course I had to get pie. I loved the variety of flavors and sizes; and they seem to always have a big selection! There's both indoor and outdoor seating, as well as tons of art/merchandise to look through if you needed a gift. It's so sweet in here- staff are so friendly and vibes are really great. This shop is so cute! My Italian aunt was so excited to hear they had an Italian Easter Pie special. Despite her pride in her family recipe, she admitted theirs was very good, and I wholeheartedly agree. Our server was so kind and funny, and helped us navigate the menu. We got a few different things: The Italian Easter Pie special, a chicken pot pie, a mushroom and Swiss quiche, and a Nutella waffle. As I said, the Easter Pie was comparable to my family's, it was super tasty. The pot pie was the perfect wholesome meal, Lancaster incarnate. The quiche was surprisingly delicious, I say surprisingly because I usually hate quiche. And the Nutella waffle was a step above just a normal waffle, the best waffle I've ever had. It has thick batter and the whipped cream you can definitely tell is homemade. This is such a unique and lovely spot and I will definitely return !! read more

I love pie and coffee so I was looking for a snack and popped in here. The smell was wonderful! Staff was very friendly and seemed like a family. I ordered a banana cream pie (tart?) and and iced americano which were both cold and delicious. I also ordered a 6" strawberry pie to go. They use fresh strawberries from the market and it was yummy and though small, went a long way in my house for everyone to enjoy. The only thing is the price. $16 for that strawberry pie. Ouch. All of this inflation is killing me. It was very high quality and really delicious but I don't think I'll go back for a pie to go. But it's a great stop for dessert and coffee. read more

I didn't get any of the coffee here regrettably, but I will absolutely make my way back here and be sure to try next time. We actually stopped in here for pies after they were recommended and I was not at all disappointed. Lancaster Pie & Coffee has made me fall in love with banana cream pies. It doesn't even make sense how amazingly delicious this pie was. I live about an hour and half away, but I would honestly make the drive JUST for this pie. I'm a huge fan of this gem! The owners are really lovely, the smell as soon as you walk in convinces you to splurge on a pie... and you won't regret it! The quiche for breakfast is delicious, the cappuccinos are great, and the PIES. The pies ... they're a little pricey but this ain't no grocery store pie, the key lime, the chocolate silk, the pecan .. ooh my! Delicious, great treat for a splurge or if you're bringing to an event. Definitely pop by, they're open Sundays which is nice for Lancaster where half the city is closed. Lancaster Pie and Coffee was fantastic. We stopped in hoping for savory pies but ended up having slices of cherry & key lime pie for dinner. The cherry was PACKED with delicious fruit (no weird cornstarch fillers, if you know you know) and we could not get over how perfect the crust was on the key lime pie. I also got a mixed berry and an apple pie to take home, those were superb as well. The apple had a nice tartness. The owners were super friendly, the space is cute and the pies were out of this world. We will be back! read more

I've visited this Lanc City gem twice now and both times, I have left 1. impressed with the delicious food 2. having a personalized experience thanks to the sweet management! The owner, Bill, made my waffle (do not sneeze at waffles at a pie establishment! It was seriously the best waffle I've ever had) with an off-the-menu chocolate ganache and kindly delivered it to my table. What a sweet touch. And on my second visit, he made me laugh by photo bombing (you can see in my video). The cafe is tastefully decorated with pie-themed artwork and is a cozy spot with an incredible view of a beautiful tree and morning sunlight (if you choose to dine by the window). Besides coffee, waffles, and dessert pies, you can order quiche or savory pies like Chicken or Brisket or CRAB (a special they had today) which come with a side salad! My experience with Lancaster Pie & Coffee began before even entering. My husband and I were reading the sign and then when we finally headed in the owner was there opening the door for us, because he saw my husband was using a cane. Once we were inside we were met with the prettiest cafe, local art to peruse, the incredible smell of pie and the warmest smile from the woman behind the bar / register. The vibes were top notch. So what about the pie? If you call yourself a pie place the pie should be, at least- good. Well, the pie is actually quite amazing. We tried the apple, blueberry and the lemon. The lemon was the showstopper, but all three were spectacular. It felt like coming home and home is perfect and has great pie. Their hot chocolate was good and included rustic homemade marshmallows. The tea selection was fantastic. One of my favorite things (and there were many from my experience), was the quiche. I've tried the quiche in just about every establishment in downtown Lancaster that offers it- none compare to the quiche here. I ordered the Swiss mushroom and it was a revelation. I feel bad for all of the other quiche makers everywhere else. So far behind..... Overall, I was immediately love stricken with the business. They deliver on every level. And the kindness and charm of the employees, owner and hostess must not be diminished. I have a handful of businesses in downtown Lancaster I order from or frequent quite a bit and the owners who are always there are rarely ever friendly or chatty, which is fine, but I wish there was more friendliness. I passed this place numerous times but never stopped. Needed a few treats for the holiday weekend so I made a point to stop in. Wow. So glad I did. Bought a chicken pie (10), banana cream (9.5), apple (9), and sour cherry. (10!). The only reason for the 9 of the apple is that I would have liked my apples to be baked slightly more. I love that the products are not icky sweet and loaded with sugar. Service was excellent. Highly recommend!! read more

We were in Lancaster looking for a little late afternoon snack. Searching for Snacks near me, the 2nd or 3rd name on the list was Lancaster Pie and Coffee. The name alone was enough for us and it was only a few blocks away. The pleasant welcoming we got from the young woman at the counter was the 2nd sign we were in the right place. Finally, the display of our pie choices clinched the deal for us. The only thing to decide was what to order and here , again, the young woman at the counter (sorry...I don't remember your name) was a big help with that too. I had a small banana cream pie (tart?) and MA had a slice of cherry pie a la mode. They also have hand pies and pie-sized pies, if you want to go small or big. In any case, if you want something special in the way of sweet treat, this is the place. Btw...they also do savory, but we did not sample. Judging from the excitement on the faces of those doing savory while we were there though, you're probably in for a treat if you go that way as well. read more
