Breakfast sandwiches, drinks cupcakes everything here is pretty tasty. This is the Lancaster location and very excited it's open.

So excited that the Lancaster location is open. A great addition to an already busy cafe scene. They make an impressive variety of breakfast sandwiches, wraps, burritos, and so on. Certainly a lot to try on the savory end of the spectrum if you're not the cupcake, muffin, or other sweet snack type. I got the Main Street Morning burrito. The balsamic onions and house sauce really set it apart. I also got a latte which was especially hot, just like I like it. Prices are arguably below other cafes in the city. A quality, cheap place to grab a bite to eat. Happy to have Scratch Bakes within walking distance now.

I've never been to the Ephrata location and I visited this location during opening week. What prompted my mid-week visit was a post on their FB page - $1 cupcakes! Seems as though they had over baked as they were still learning supply and demand for Lancaster City (lucky me!) Good location - downtown, walkable from just about anywhere and not too close to some of the other sweet shops. I didn't try any of the menu items, this visit was specifically for cupcakes. Sadly, I was underwhelmed. They all looked so delicious and I picked an assortment of flavors. I was disappointed that some we couldn't tell the difference between and others fell flat on flavor all together. The cakes themselves were inconsistent. Most were over baked and very dry and the one or two that weren't, were lacking the distinct flavor that was described. I was relieved that I only paid half price, I would have been even more disappointed had I spent $24 on a dozen.

    Bottom of Beef Bite Sandwich

I ordered Scratch (Lancaster) for the first time via DoorDash. I've had the Beef Bite before at the Ephrata location and it has always been delicious! Sadly, the bottom of the bread from Scratch (Lancaster) was burnt which made it extremely hard and not appealing. I'm not sure why a food establishment would send out a less than par item knowing it could be reviewed and criticized. I placed my order 2 hours in advance so there was no rush to my order. The flavors were there, but only after the initial burnt taste...

I haven't really eaten there, but I get their snacks from time to time. Their chocolate chip cookies and cupcakes are phenomenal. I got this confetti cupcake today and it was really good. Highly recommended!

The line can get long but it moves quicky. They offer a pretty basic menu of food options and standard coffee shop offerings. I picked up a bag of their keystone blend. It was fantastic. The bag didn't really open well. But I ended up just putting it into a plastic baggie. I did love that they offered me a free drip coffee with the purchase of the coffee beans. The bags are pricey at $20 a bag. But it truly is a good brew.

I recently decided to turn in my CDL and head back into the office, which allows me more time to get my workouts in and perfect my look. Normally, when I pick up something new, I do a lot of research; I dive all in. I'm glad I "dived into" coffee. When you're a truck driver, you usually hit truck stops where the coffee isn't great. However, being diverse and cultured, I started trying coffee in Latin communities. I noticed they used special machines, which sparked my interest. I eventually started visiting specialty coffee shops. Most of the places I get food from don't open until 10:00 AM, but coffee shops are open much earlier. That's how I found Passenger Coffee here in Lancaster. I knew it was going to be a great spot the moment I walked in; it was clean, inviting, and smelled amazing. A friendly employee greeted me with a smile, and their pastry display looked great. I told her I was new to coffee--only about two months in--but that I was enjoying trying different kinds. I explained how I normally take my coffee and mentioned that the last time I had one, it had foam on top. She gave me a small coffee to try, as well as one with foam (a latte or cappuccino). I think that's all I want to drink from now on! I used to make fun of people who said, "Don't talk to me until I've had my first cup," but now I finally understand why. I highly recommend this place for the excellent customer service and the cleanliness of the location. The pricing is affordable, too. I hope my review helps!

Kenzie was an exceptional waitress--attentive, welcoming, and genuinely encouraging in a way that made us feel right at home. The atmosphere is enchanting. Our server was friendly and efficient, and the pace of the service flowed well throughout our meal. The restaurant is clean and cozy and the seating area can accommodate different sizes of dining groups. I ordered the Elvis Crepe from the Sweet Crepes section of the menu and a side of Hash Browns with Southwest sauce. They were both delicious and filling, and it was a good combination of sweet and savory. My partner got a Savory Crepe, which he also enjoyed. The only disappointing part of our meal was the iced lattes. We both ordered different flavors - one Nutella latte and one with strawberry syrup. We couldn't taste any of the flavoring in them at all. Had our server not told us which was which, we would never have been able to tell. They just tasted like plain lattes with no added flavor. Especially disappointing considering you pay extra for the flavored syrups. Overall, a great choice for delicious food and friendly service, but maybe grab your latte later from one of the other many coffee shops in the area.
