In Lancaster there seems to be no shortage of cute coffee houses and cafes. Cafe One Eight is one of those that really hits the mark. Cafe One Eight serves a variety of breakfast items. I ordered the oatmeal with fresh blueberries. The oatmeal was delicious but more like dessert for me. The steel cut oats were on the dry side and very sweet. 16 year old ordered a parfait which included the oatmeal, yogurt, and fruit. The tartness of the yogurt went well with the sweet oats. The menu has breakfast sandwiches, but the servers graciously cooked eggs and sausage to order for my husband. There were two choices for plain old American coffee (self service) and they were both good. The decor is pleasant and modern. Nice way to start the morning! read more

One of my favorite places to eat in downtown Lancaster! The atmosphere is always cozy & inviting. During the warmer months outdoor seating is offered. Food is always fresh, nice sized menu with decent prices. There are always seasonal specials on the board and there are new soups daily. I did not try coffee or any pastries so this review is based off just a simple breakfast sandwich and when I do try coffee I'll give it a better proper review! I loved learning about this company when I looked them up online and the inside was super cute! I wanted just a breakfast sandwich so I did the create your own- ciabatta, bacon, egg and cheddar. It was just a plain sandwich, probably not worth $6, but it was tasty enough in its simplicity. Since I wasn't drinking coffee I opted for the closest beverage they had which was apple juice! Coffee grinds in coffee,, microwaved old "ciabatta" rolls used for worst egg sandwich I ever had and I spent 2 years in the Army !! A glop of tasteless, inedible cheese toped off this terrible sandwich. Wife's parfait was not good at all and they most likely did not make that fresh either. Owners unprofessional response consisted of slamming a couple of spelling errors instead of being a true leader and find out what went wrong and how they could improve. They most likely stay in business due to their location. Tired of spending $30 for breakfast in these "coffee shops" when their food is micro'd and defrosted breads top their menus. I am in love with this place! It's my first time here and absolutely enamored. It's right down the street from a Starbucks (which is bigger) but today my daughter and I went to Starbucks and the service at Starbucks was so dreadful that we left because of it. After searching we saw Cafe One Eight and I was very happy that Starbucks made the mistake or I wouldn't have known about this place! It's so much better than Starbucks! Independently owned, amazing staff, cool decor, lots of space, really cool people (patrons), amazing vibe, good prices, good and wide selection of food, and the best ingredient? Amazing coffee! They even sell shirts that were so cool! I tried buying it but they were out of my size. I will absolutely get one when they're back in stock! My daughter and I came from shopping and have been hanging out here for the last hour and we are so happy with this place! It has the greatest vibe. You won't want to leave! A nice little spot for a cup of coffee or breakfast with a chic ambience. The coffee is decent overall - it is neat that they have all house made syrups for their lattes. The food is pretty good - the cinnamon swirl French toast is delicious and the build your own breakfast sandwich is a nice offering. What's the point of ordering your food if there is no place to sit. That's the restaurant's fault and they shouldn't take orders if there isn't anywhere for the people to sit. Even though they don't officially "cater," they were able to assist in this large order! The burritos, avocado toast, and French toast were top notch! My team did not leave hungry. We had an excellent visit here for breakfast. We were able to arrive when it was busy and still secure a table for six. We were patient and the high top had a couple on it that was kind enough to let us perch at the other end of the table until they were done. It worked out perfectly. It was a Thursday morning and they were busy! Which I feel like is a very good sign. The woman at the counter didn't seem too happy when we started giving her our order (six breakfasts and drinks). It was a lot to order I suppose. But she did end up with getting it all right and demonstrated some patience, but I smiled and hoped she would lighten up a bit (being a barista myself). She got our order in, passed us the tap poured kombucha and a number and we were on our way to our table. Things came out only a couple at a time. A drink here and there (only one barista making drinks - it's expected there would be time to craft all those delicious beverages) and the food also sprinkled out over 30 minutes. I think one of our dishes may have been forgotten about as our daughter displayed amazing patience as we all at our food before she got hers. (It was an avocado toast). I had a vegan maple granola that was so good, and with almond milk. It was perfect and filling. I also got a espresso macchiato that was good. My son got the most amazing hot chocolate with latte art and all. His was the first to come out actually. I tried a iced raspberry chai that was fun and yummy. Maybe too sweet, but it was a fun treat to try. The kids had some amazing french toast and my boo had a burrito that he said was good. The atmosphere was also lovely. Just comfortable, clean bathrooms, bright cafe, love the big windows. There was seating in front of the windows as well. Besides the delay and the seemingly overwhelmed barista/cashier, it was a 100. I would highly recommend it. Come with time if it's busy! It's understandable things would take longer. This cute cafe was located across the street from where I parked when exploring Lancaster. It was recommended by my friend and by our hotel, so my husband and I decided to try it out. I ordered the pumpkin spice latte with oat milk. I waited 35 minutes for a latte. There were only 3 coffees/lattes that had to be made before mine. There was only one person making the drinks, one dining up, and one who knows what she was doing. I have never waited for long for a coffee in my life. I won't be back. It pains me to write this review. It's been a while since I've given one of these but I really don't recommend this establishment. I came here based on the reviews and menu. They do have a modern menu and even açaí and fruit drink options. Looked like locals really support it and you always want to support a small business. The seating is cute, feels like I'm back in CA, and they have outside options for dining. Great lighting and cool cafe if you wanted to study. We even had people next to us when we sat down rave about the place and their food looked good. I don't know if it was our luck or some people were having an off day. I ordered two sandwiches with meat, a coffee, and a latte. I got my latte and didn't get my cup of coffee. Wasn't until 10 min later I asked she gave me a cup and I went over to get their coffee. Then our sandwiches came out, took a bit, the girl asked if everything was all right, we said yes. We bite into our sandwiches...no meat. At that point we'd waited so long for our sandwiches I didn't want to complain since I was hungry but definitely irritated. We continue. The sausage for the breakfast stack was the most memorable since it wasn't overpowering the omelet and vegetables. Drinks: I ordered nitro coffee, lavender charcoal Latte, and a green machine. I will say that their beverages are the best takeaways. If I ever return to Lancaster, I will come here for the coffee. Nonetheless, the staff is amicable, and the ambiance is cute and relaxing. Make time to have breakfast here when you are in the area! I was in town for work and this cozy little place was about a block and a half from our hotel, so we walked over on a Saturday morning. The atmosphere is comfortable and welcoming, the coffee is really exceptional (love the design of the mugs and the fact that they have stevia on the coffee bar), and the food was fresh, flavorful, and interesting. I ordered the Vegan Power Bowl with eggs and it was easily one of the best restaurant breakfasts I've ever had. If I was a local, this would be my regular breakfast place for sure. read more

We ordered at the counter then went outside to grab the last two top on the sidewalk. The coffee was excellent; my Americano came in a large mug. My husband and I each ordered the baja breakfast: eggs topped with bacon, potatoes, avocado, mushrooms, sour cream, cheddar cheese, and corn & bean salsa. This is a small coffee shop in downtown Lancaster. It has a cosy interior with some seating and music playing in the background. They do offer some small foods but they are mainly a coffee shop. I had my usual latte and my wife had an interesting coffee flight comprised of a cortada, a pumpkin spice cold brew, a hot apple spice cider and a kambucha. My latte was prepared reasonably well but the milk was slightly too hot so there was a slight bitterness to the aftertaste. There was minimal latte art mostly due to the barista's abilities. The flight was interesting and mainly good however the cider was the best of the lot which is probably not what you would hope for from a coffee specialist. Had a nice take out breakfast from Cafe One Eight on May 12th. They offer online ordering during COVID-19 and pick up inside or they will bring to your car curbside. You must call them when picking up. We ordered at 10:05am, 3 breakfasts, a muffin and 3 coffees. It was ready at 10:25. Bags were placed just inside door and I could grab & go (but they will bring it out to you if you prefer). You just wear a mask to enter. I had avocado toast with cherry tomatoes, feta and eggs over medium which it the spot.
