I'd say their highlight is the seeded roll. This trumps any fast food hoagie chain around. Their toppings selection is perfect. The online ordering did not work and their were complications at checkout. Had to wait 45 minutes for my hoagie. Prices are pretty high... $12 for a 9 inch hoagie that has a small amount of meat.

Finally a decent place to get a hoagie! Many of the local pizza & sub shops bake their pizza dough into rolls and it just doesn't comparable to a fresh baked roll. The hoagies are meaty and filling! Quality ingredients and very fresh. I opted for a no seed roll and glad I did. My husband found the sesame seeds to be over powering preventing him from tasting the flavor of the turkey. So if you aren't sure if you enjoy sesame, I'd hold off. Side of potato salad also tasted fresh, like made this morning fresh. Not the typical Amish style you find around Lancaster Co.

Primo Hoagies continues to exist in the same location it has for the past few years. Recently this location had a change of ownership. The hoagies crafted here are as delicious as they always been. Their menu is pretty large with numerous varieties of hoagies. They do have a rewards program where you earn points that you can redeem for sandwiches. All you need to do is give the cashier your phone number to register and also when chevking out to earn your points. One thing I have always loved about the hoagies made here is the bread, a sesame seeded hard Italian roll, which is the perfect vehicle to deliver goodness to your belly. Service is always friendly in my experience here. Lately, I have been receiving text messahes on Wednesdays and Sundays offering discounts on sandwiches. Just give your phone number when ordering to take advantage of the savings!

I struggled with how many stars before posting and settled on 3. From a straight hoagie perspective, I would likely have given a four. Good meat to veggie proportions , taste was very good, the "hard" roll (as a hoagie should have) was also good. Unfortunately, I had to lower it due to service issues. As others have noted, there is a bit of a wait. I'm accustomed to this now as everywhere is short staffed. What wasn't ok with me is that two customers who ordered multiple hoagies to go AFTER my wife and I ordered two to eat in received their orders before we got ours. Neither of ours were hot hoagies, just Italians so nothing had to be cooked. Please complete orders in the order they were received. Also, we both ordered oil and vinegar and my wife also ordered mayo, yet both were dry. $27.52 for two hoagies and two drinks...would feel better about it if the service was better.

Primo Chicken cutlet with extra mayonnaise? I don't see any mayonnaise!!!

Inconsistent attention to detail on the food is the only think keeping me from giving a 5 star rating. The quality of food and ingredients is excellent. The kids working there not so much.

    Long Black Hair! Disgusting
    Patricia R.

On June 4, 2022, I found a long black hair stuck in my 2nd bite of my Phila cheesesteak hoagie. (my hair is brown and silver, and every bit of it was gathered in a tight ponytail). I tried calling the Fruitville Pike location, where it was made, 3 times, but no one answered the phone and I received a "voicemail box is full" message each time. The only silver lining is that this happened to me, and not in the large party tray we were about to order for an upcoming reunion my husband and I are hosting at our home. Even though my sandwich was tasty, I cannot recommend Primo, until or unless they start wearing hair nets. With so many other options in town, we will purchase our large party tray elsewhere. UPDATE: I returned to the store to find they have a manager from another, successful, store working hard to improve the Fruitville Pike location. This manager offered me a heartfelt apology, a full refund or another sandwich. I appreciated his sincerity and look forward to giving them another try in the future. I do still wish the staff would be required to wear hair nets and beard nets while preparing food.

Absolutely awful!! Never go to this location. The workers were extremely slow and did not communicate well. They looked like they hated their job and were disrespectful when trying to order. My sub was a complete disaster. Soggy and tasted horrible. It turned into a mess when I picked it up.

    One awesome sub!!!

I have to give a huge shout out to this place! Not only do they have really awesome sandwiches with the best ingredients--their service today was fantastic! My husband ordered a sub that didn't indicate it was spicy. When he got it, it was too much heat. He took it up to the counter and asked if he could exchange it for something else. The owner was incredible! He was friendly, apologized, made it right with a new sandwich, gave us a coupon for our next visit, came out and talked to us...THIS is service! Great food + great service = a return visit and a high recommendation to all of my friends!

I looked on Yelp and quickly pivoted here and I'm glad I did! The woman behind the counter was very kind and personable to everyone who walked in, there were free cookies that they were testing out that customers could take, and the seating was limited but clean. The big windows give nice views out to the parking lot and the rolling hills beyond. I ordered a "Rancher" which was one of the hot sandwiches. A bit like a cheesesteak but with ranch dressing and bacon. The sandwich was ready in no time at all and tasted great! Could definitely see myself coming back next time I'm in the area.

Definitely a top choice if you come here. The sandwich tasted great. The main problem I have is that I am not a fan of their rolls. The rolls are very doughy and seemed like there was too much roll for the sandwich. The service was quick and fast, the lady at the front register was very kind. Great service is always a plus in my mind for a restaurant. The location was clean, easy parking, and setup nice on the inside with plenty of seating. The price per sandwich is a little bit expensive.

I wasn't a fan of the coleslaw. Very different from any coleslaw I've ever had before. Not saying it wasn't good. Just wasn't my thing. The sandwich was good. My son ordered a huge sandwich (can't remember what it was called) and it has coleslaw and fries inside. I snatched a fry and they were so good! Three people, three sandwiches and under $40. Good deal! Especially when two of those sandwiches could have served other people. They were huge.

We ordered the New Yorker sandwich this time (had the Don last time). It was good but not great. The spicy mustard was unevenly applied so was missing on my half and was badly needed. The Don sandwich last week had meat spread throughout and the fries in the sandwich were crunchy and not limp like today's sandwich. We also had naked BBQ wings that were good, but again, not as good as we had last week. The wings were bigger, meatier and better sauced last time. Apparently didn't take pics last weekend for comparison, but it was noticeably better then so would suspect that cooking is uneven. Last week was a 5, today was just a 3, so I averaged.

This was my 2nd time coming to Mad Chef!…read more The first time I came here was about 2 years ago (before doing yelp reviews). I was not very impressed. This time around I cannot complain! Their specials are all revolving around the Masters which was unique! We tried the Pimento, Fried Green Tomato, Chicken Sandwich (The Pimento Birdie). This was a delicious sandwich that just screams Georgia! We also tried the Madfather Chicken Sandwich! Pesto, Vodka Sauce, Mozzarella, this thing was outstanding! The fries are always a highlight here! We got the bucket (had a bigger group) and it came with 3 sauces. 1 tiny little knock on the fry bucket....the entire bucket was not filled with fries. The bottom of the fry bucket had about an inch or 2 of crinkled up paper..... All of the food was outstanding. The beer was good. Tons of space and seating. Very easy ordering process. Big Sigh... An attempt to create something good, unsual, but…read morenot only falls short in doing so, the inflated prices were enough for you to rethink your groceries for the week. Maybe what I smelled upon walking inside Mad Chef, were hops; I'm unsure. There was a lingering, unpleasant scent (hay/old peanut shells, an earthy staleness). When my food arrived, the scent dissipated. I purposely took a picture of the fish, on my fried fish sandwich, to illustrate what $17 and some change, looks like - very thin. The fish fry was tasty, slightly undercooked, soft crusted and soft bun, fresh condiments and those "pickles" were stellar. They were the best part of my meal. I would seriously purchase a jar of those pickles. Was wary of how hot honey would mesh with a pepperoni pizza, but surprisingly, the sweet heat and the savoriness of the pepperonis, worked well together. The only miss and it's a pretty big "miss," was the paper thin, tasteless crust, acting only as a vehicle to hold the toppings. Suggest you improve the crust and then, you'll have a stellar pie. Loved the peach bread pudding with brown sugar ice cream, but once again, for the price; the portion was skimpy. Liked the touch of homemade whipped cream, but it was overly whipped (stiff and tasteless), making it actually, impalatable.
