Had a very nice experience at Bobby Bay's recently. I was visiting from out-of-town and my original restaurant selection was not open. I looked on Yelp and quickly pivoted here and I'm glad I did! The woman behind the counter was very kind and personable to everyone who walked in, there were free cookies that they were testing out that customers could take, and the seating was limited but clean. The big windows give nice views out to the parking lot and the rolling hills beyond. I ordered a "Rancher" which was one of the hot sandwiches. The only regret I have about choosing this place is that I did not take a picture of my sandwich or loaded fries. I am in PA this week doing work. Figured I needed to try a Cheesesteak sandwich while I was there. Pulled up this place on Apple Maps and they did not disappoint. Their cheese is pure and creamy, their steak, cut thin and full of flavor, the roll has a crisp outside and soft inside. Don't get me started on the fire cherry mayo, OMG! I got the classic burger. Burger was good but I think route 66's are better. We also got a side of loaded fries which were very good. My daughter wanted a turkey sandwich which she also enjoyed. Tough place to review. Got the Johnny Boy sandwich and fries. Johnny boy was prosciutto, thick sliced mozzarella, soprasetta, arugula and olive oil. The fries are always fantastic here! Definitely a top choice if you come here. The sandwich tasted great. The main problem I have is that I am not a fan of their rolls. The rolls are very doughy and seemed like there was too much roll for the sandwich. The service was quick and fast, the lady at the front register was very kind. Great service is always a plus in my mind for a restaurant. The location was clean, easy parking, and setup nice on the inside with plenty of seating. Uniformly everyone complained about the narrowness and thickness of the rolls that made the sandwiches sloppy to eat and too dense. Otherwise taste is top notch. To start off this place has the feel of a nice little mom and pop sandwich shop. The seating is limited but the inside is nice, they have a variety of food on the menu, they have good taste in music and the service is really welcoming. So let's start with the fries! The crunch on the outside with a pillowy inside was great, added some salt and pepper and the fries were delicious! Now onto the Cheesesteak, it is a shaved ribeye steak sandwich with onions, whiz and cherry pepper mayo. I got no mayo which in retrospect I should've just kept it on. On cheesesteaks I don't really like the thick cuts (like Geno's) I'm more of a thinner slice which this is. There was one bite that was a bit chewier than I liked but besides that one bite the bread was great, I did have a bite of my dad's which had the cherry pepper mayo and it was really good so next time I would definitely get that. So for the Cheesesteak I would give it a solid 8/10 and overall I would say a solid 8.3/10! Definitely would recommend! read more

We were waited on by a friendly lady on a Monday night and even though there were multiple to-go orders - our food was served within 5-10 minutes. I had the crispy chicken which I enjoyed. The flavor was GOOD. The only negative was that the bacon wasn't crispy on my sandwich or my SIL's burger. Next time I will make sure to ask for crispy bacon. Not what it's hyped up to be. The restaurant was clean and there were no other patrons inside. The subs came out hot, which was expected since we were the only ones dining in at the time. The fries did not seem to be hand cut. But the fries were over cooked and not enjoyable. The cheesesteaks were overly greasy. Depending on the cut of beef, I know it might be a little greasy. I recently moved to Lancaster and thought it would be difficult to find a good sandwich shop... After much research and talking to friends and strangers, I discovered Bobby Bay's! The place is convenient, clean, has a very pleasant staff, and the best turkey hoagies by far. My favorite is called the Turk. My last visit I switched to a cheesesteak and it was absolutely delicious. Please give this place a try. It might not look like much from the outside, but it's definitely worth the experience. As we walked into the cute, small shop kind of place, some of us were skeptical but in the end it turned out great. We ordered at the counter from a nice and helpful cashier/waitress and sat down at our table. The whole place was very clean and had nice decor and classic booths to sit at. We got our order of French fries right away and they were a great start to our meal. Soon later, we got all of our sandwiches including a tender cheesesteak, a caprese sandwich, and a turkey sandwich (they also could make a plain cheese sandwich for our 6 year old). All were delicious with fresh ingredients. The best thing throughout all the sandwiches was the fresh, soft, tasty, perfect texture bread. If I knew the bread was so good before ordering I would've ordered a few plain rolls to bring home. This time, the hubby and I were loving BB's greasy, cheezy, flavorful cheesesteak, with meat spilling out and landing on my chin, lap and most importantly, my mouth. A huge improvement from my previous visit. Unfortunately, the Big Vito could have been a huge palate success, had it not been for the heavy handed, slathering of mayo and the overly thick slice of sharp (and I mean Sharp) provolone cheese - stealing the show, so all you really taste is a very sharp cheese and a load of mayo. I suggest, thinner slices of cheese, less mayo and to lay the meat on top of each other, vice folding it, as if it were luggage. read more

We tried Bobby bay's for the first time today at the new location in Mount Joy. It was delicious! But I was kind a little bummed with how thick the prosciutto was. I think they may be slicing it themselves(?). Maybe slice it thinner, it'll be easier to digest and chew. I am in the industry myself and after studying at the culinary institute of America, we were always taught to slice prosciutto real thin. It just tastes better too and digests better. My husband got the caprese sandwich and he loved it cause it was light but we both agreed it could use a little more mozzarella since that is the main component. He said maybe a juicier tomato that's ripe enough. Maybe leave the mozzarella in the water as well and he said maybe a little more basil. The bread was delicious and easy to eat and we loved that!
