An absolute win. When in the Lancaster area we make it a point to stop at Cravings. Fast, clean, fresh. The staff is always on the move, and everyone seems to have a purpose. Well run. The "Pastrami Special" isn't great for my heart or waistline, but does wonders for the soul. read more

This was a decent sub! Very messy with tons of oil and Vickie's Craving had tons of Aioli and mayo. A little pricey for a sandwich and a sub in my opinion. The place has TONS of seating for how small it looks from the outside. They have an upper deck and everything. It seemed very busy, would like to try different items from there! Ordered online, took about 30 minutes to get the food. read more

I paid $30 for arguably the most mid sandwiches I've ever eaten. The best part about my chicken cheesesteak was the bread which is actually pretty delicious. The provolone cheese was also really melty and good. The chicken were cut up, grilled chicken breasts which weren't anything special. The fries were gross. They didn't salt them or season them at all and the potato grade quality was poor. My dog didn't even like them. The second star is for the really nice boy who handed me my food. Not the cashier, the food runner maybe? He was really sweet. Maybe they're good for other things. I'll skip this the next time I'm in town. read more

I had the worst corned beef sandwich there. It was small and just whole wheat bread and two thin slices of corned beef, nothing else on it, very bland. read more

The service isn't great. Don't expect them to meet the timeframe for your takeout. Either they are very poor in estimating time to make or they may give your order to someone else. So either go and wait or order your food from another restaurant which has a more reliable estimate of food preparation. I won't be going back. read more

Needed to stop at Brewers the other day and figured I'd grab dinner from Cravings. I've always been a fan, but forget about this place. It was great to see everyone working following CDC guidelines. There were about 7-8 employees working and all of them wore their masks correctly and wore gloves. All of the tables have been pushed to the side (no dine-in) and signage was clearly posted. Plexi at the register and no one waiting inside. Consistently good food and equally great customer service. read more

Their sandwhiches are to die for. They are fantastic. I highly recommend them. I have had the Rueben, Pastrami Sandwhiches, & a couple of their subs. BEST! read more

Best sandwiches, especially the Yanni Wrap and cheesesteak. Greek salad with grilled chicken and Greek dressing outstanding!

This deli is at a convenient location. The menu has plenty of options. However I still order one of two items. One is a gyro that is very good when I am craving Greek. (No pun intended). The other is a grilled sandwich that was recommended by a lady in line. I usually order on line and carry out. There is seating if you want to stay. I recommend checking the hours before going. read more

#9 or #12 - you can't go wrong. Way more creative and flavorful than your standard cheesesteak. I love cheesesteaks - but Cravings is different. read more

Not many deli's in lancaster. So, I was happy to find one. Large menu, turkey club was good. Staff was friendly. Fries were okay.

Back in the day I used to frequent Cravings at least once a week. When I'd recommend them to others I'd always say just don't look around, as the food was always great but the kitchen and dining area a mess. I always found pick up to be sloppy and unorganized and usually involved some confusion and yelling in Greek. But the food was always delicious. I "craved" it and could overlook the flaws. Fast forward 15 years. I no longer frequent that area as much as I did and hadn't ordered from them in as many years. Some errands lead me in that direction at lunchtime and I remembered fondly the fries on their sandwiches and how much I loved them. I hoped that my recent visit would reignite the love I once felt. And it didn't disappoint. I was so smitten that a few days later I wanted to order again, only they're closed on Sundays. Bummer! While their menu changed slightly my favorites were still available, including my favorite the #2. The boardwalk fries added to the sandwich were still the same and continues to take this sandwich to the next level. The addition of a side of pickle fries (not available years ago) is a must order and also did not disappoint. My only complaint was a spicy aoli dripping sauce would have been a better compliment than plain ranch. While the kitchen has cleaned up the chaos and confusion still appears to be present behind the counter. Considering I placed my order when they first opened - for pick up an hour and 15 minutes later- during my hurried lunch hour, it still wasn't ready when I got there. I waited about 5 minutes when they were completely empty as I take lunch before it's customary. Not a horrible injustice but time is valuable, especially when you need to get back to work. After all these years it was disappointing to see that very little in that area has improved. I still recommend take out over dining in as the dining area is nothing to look at and only brings to light the hodgepodge of activity behind the counter. The pickle fries, a must! read more

Verdict: One of the more authentic tasting Philly cheesesteaks I've had in the Lancaster area. I can't say if it was the bread, the steak, the cheese, or the combination but there was something distinctly Philly in this cheesesteak. It reminded me of the sandwiches I got when living in the city. I know they use American cheese and that might create a major debate about whether that's correct. I don't think there'd be much debate about this being a well made sandwich. Cravings has a large menu with plenty of options. I'll have to go back and try some other items before I can say if my experience holds true across their sandwiches. Better yet, trust in the other Yelp reviews. From the looks of it, I'd go for the FROM THE GRILL part of the menu. There's a fresh Philly roll coming your way with those. read more

I ordered the Bacon & Blue Burger and the Kiddie Korner Chicken Fingers to go. The burger was underwhelming - the bacon was a nice portion, but there was too much cheese for the thin, relatively dry patty and lackluster bun. The Chicken Fingers meal was worse. I understand it is intended for children. The girl for whom I ordered it was disappointed. The fries were shriveled and dry. She said the chicken fingers tasted alright but they were small and, again, tasted *alright*. Perhaps I should have ordered a sub or cheesesteak. I may try again next time I'm in town. read more

This is an excellent place to get really good food. The owner works hard right along with his staff, his staff has been with him for many years which is extremely rare in food service, and they simply do a great job of delivering really good food on a consistent basis! I highly recommend Cravings Gourmet Deli! read more

The 1. JK Special is the best steak and cheese sub I have had in PA yet! I highly recommend! So good evening without adding any sauce! 10+++

This is one of my favorite places to eat in Lancaster (go there once a week). The menu is unique and cost effective. It's perfect for lunch or a low key dinner. My personal recommendations are Yanni's wrap, any pizza, burgers and fries, fried zucchini sticks, Litsa's (turkey croissant), Kat's Delight, and definitely the cheesesteaks - as good as Philly. The only potential downside is that it's hard to find (good for me, keeps the tourists away), and if you eat there you'll probably walk out smelling like a sub. So basically if you want to eat awesome food and save money, go to Cravings. read more

Would give 3.5 if possible. Rounded to 4 for good service. The cheesesteak is *almost* great. First of all, it needs WHIZ. That being said, the American cheese did melt nicely and make the steak overall enjoyable. The bun is A+ and the meat is very good but there needs to be more of it. I would definitely pay a few extra dollars for a bigger portion. This steak is better than Rendezvous or Gus, but not as good as Speed's or Grub N Stuff. It is a perfectly good middle of the road Lancaster cheesesteak. They gave me syrup for sweet potato fries. Yum. My friend thinks that's nasty but he puts ketchup on his cheesesteaks so who is the nasty one here? You decide. Can't believe I've been a Lancastrian for so long and never knew about this place. Will come back probably with family. read more

Cravings... yes. You will have many, many cravings for their food once you've had it. I love the zucchini sticks... sooo good *wipes drool* Tried a few different sandwiches, a different one each time I've gone. Each time... very tasty and fresh. Customer service is a lil' "hit or miss"... Some of the guys seem a lil' more preoccupied with what's on TV than the fact that you're slightly confused and may have a question or 2. I think there should be more than one napkin dispenser... but... that's neither here nor there, I guess? Seating is comfy. I like that there is a choice of 2 different areas. I'd give 5 stars, but I think their customer service needs a lil' work. Other than that, the food is fresh, crisp, and tasty. The restaurant is also, always (in my experiences) clean... which is a definite PLUS. read more

You know someone is a Philly native if you ask them "Pat's or Gino's" and they reply "Cravings Gourmet Deli in Lancaster". Honest opinion though, it's a locals deli. The cheesesteak is pretty good and the service is quality. This is not somewhere you take people to impress them with a well designed interior and a $11 avocado toast. You take people here because you want a good sub at a decent price. read more

Don't go to this place near closing time. I stopped by at 6:45 ( the place was supposed to be open until 7:00 ) on my way home from work. They were putting away everything - the grill was closed and the food was all being bagged away for the night. I humbly asked if I could still get some sandwiches and everyone rolled their eyes and looked at me like I was trying to rob the place. They ended up making some cold sandwiches for me - but, EVERY worked looked at me like I was a bad guy doing something wrong. If you are going to advertise that you are open until a certain time - then stay open. Otherwise, just change your hours accordingly so customers can know when they should and should not try to visit. It's frustrating for someone that has to work until 6:00, then fight traffic to get home and bring some food along for dinner - that last thing I need is more attitude from a place that is supposed to be open as advertised. read more

This will do. I'm a NJ transplant, so my deli standards are very high. Best in the area, and works when my deli need is high. Soups are tasty. Comfortable seating and plentiful menu, try it out for a good sandwich. read more

First off let me say they were better than I thought. I was hungry and foods been tasting like garbage so wanted to try something new. Looked briefly at website and saw spicy cauliflower and was sold. I don't know what I was thinking but when I open the box I was like holy shit. Didn't expect such a big sandwich or it to look good. Omg bonus points, their bacon was not half cooked and soggy! And who foods delicious. If you get a club sandwich like I did you'll wanna share with someone unless you can eat the whole thing lol. Definitely will be trying other items because they have a good selection. read more

The food is amazing but I think the on line ordering is not working properly. One of the questions was what you do NOT want. I chose green peppers. Unfortunately, my wrap was full of green peppers. When I looked at the receipt taped to my bag, it showed "Comments: N/A" I think I received green peppers because I did not put it in the comments. Someone should look into that. Hate green peppers. read more

We went based on these reviews. It was a Saturday evening, about 7:00. My husband and I placed our order, but it took over 30 minutes to get our food! They did not apologize and did not appear unduly busy. My husband ordered a gyro burger. The beef was very overlooked. The gyro meat was good. His fries were greasy and a bit undercooked. My Italian sub was ok. I have to say - we have been to Primo Hoagies before. It is just up the road. They use the same quality brand of meats, with greater variety. The hoagies are MUCH better there and the wait time is much shorter. We won't return. read more

One of the best sandwich and salad shops in Lancaster. We had the cheeseburger subs this time. The burgers are flame broiled to perfection. Served on great roll. Definitely one of my favorites here. I'm actually writing this review from inside cravings because... It took a while to make my sandwich, which initially pissed me off cause I was starving. Then the kid workin. This used to be my favorite place for a cheese steak. For years I would bring friends from Philly and laugh as they finally have a good steak. Now I haven't been back in over a year but decided to swing by. Sad to say it has changed quite a bit. Maybe it's my memory that had them on a certain level but the steak was just ok good. Not great. Not a place I would bring people to. Just average. Rolls are. Different. And let's the gease make it soggy. Steak doesn't have the flavor of before. Kinda of watered down. Maybe it was the onions. Just not as it used to be here read more

Cravings deli is without a doubt the best sub shop in all of Lancaster county. Their cheesesteaks are to die for, and their homemade honey mustard dressing is delicious. As others have stated on here though, it really does depend on what time you come to eat. Their lunch rush is between noon and 1:00, and the place typically gets packed. If you're looking for a more quiet time to eat here make sure you stop in after that. I always prefer carry out with sub shops but the customer service here always makes you feel at home. Very friendly employees and great food. Highly recommend! read more

We've been going here for 18 years and had a pretty bad experience recently. My 76 year old mom asked for a little more dressing for her salad and was told it was $0.50 extra. Apparently this is a new policy as was having to walk all the way to the front door to get silverware and napkins which are not given with your food. Okay that's not a big deal but the staff were extremely rude and were laughing at my mom when she complained that she had never been charged in 18 years. They have the nerve to have a tip jar on the counter. I predict this restaurant will close within months if the young inexperienced staff are not trained in proper respect and etiquette. read more
