    Grilled Pastrami on Rye

It's been quite some time since I've been back to Bruno's but was in the area and stopped by. They are located in the same small shopping strip as before however they moved next door. Now, this location offers cheese steaks, which they previously didn't. Today, I got the Grilled Pastrami on Rye with slaw and thousand island dressing. I chose to dine in and did not wait long before my sandwich was ready. Service was friendly and quick. The sandwich was good. It was warm, juicy and flavorful. I must admit that I thought the price was a little more than I think it should be but the sandwich was delicious. The shop seemed as busy as I previously remembered. Now that I know they have cheese steaks I will plan on returning to try one, especially since I know Bruno's gets Liscio rolls.

    Chicken cheesesteak

The best cheesesteaks in Lancaster county. Super friendly staff. Very clean and bright. Try the Bruno sauce!!

    Beef cheesesteak wiz onions mushrooms

The best cheesesteaks around! Can't go wrong with the cold hoagies as well. Very friendly staff too!

New, expanded dining area looks fantastic! Plenty of seating, including a high counter.

I've been visiting less and less lately because I've been disappointed by the staff's lack of correct mask wearing and basic hygiene on my last few visits. A couple months ago, I had to remind one of the ladies not to use the same gloves she uses on the register when she's making the sandwiches. Defeats the purpose of the gloves. Tried another visit recently just to see if things have changed, but they haven't. The lady making our sandwiches had her mask hanging, not even covering the top of her mouth, and after she wrapped them up, she sneezed -- no covering her mouth, no elbow use or turning away from the food station. COVID or no COVID, that's just gross. I don't want to have to remind folks to be mindful of things like this, so I'll be steering clear for a while, and it definitely has dampened my enthusiasm for recommending the place.

Another great experience and I continue to have lunch here! Never a bad comment from anyone I bring.

Yelp reviews led my family to Bruno's, which was easy to find in a strip mall. If you were to ask Kid #1 in our family to name the one food she'd eat if she could only eat one thing for the rest of her life, the answer would immediately be "Sandwiches." As for myself, a good hoagie (aka sub) is only beaten by pizza as my "All Time Favorite Food EVER," so I was quite excited to try a new sandwich joint. The staff was super friendly, very efficient, and totally top notch. They deserve props for their lovely smiles and pleasant demeanors. Various meats, cheeses, toppings, and breads were available. The menu lists certain combinations (e.g. Turkey & Provolone), but we were assured that toppings could be customized. We ordered a variety of items, including soup, the #1 Italian, and a Roast Beef & Provolone. The meat/cheese on the subs was ample, though none were overstuffed. They were sprinkled with a seasoning that brought a lot of flavor to the party, although I didn't love it on the roast beef. Big Daddy's pastrami on rye sandwich was hearty, but the cole slaw was a bit too sweet for his liking. The rolls (fresh baked and shipped in each morning) were delicious. The soft roll was tender and light. The hard roll had the perfect amount of chew. The #1 Italian sub was, indeed, the best Italian sub I have ever eaten. I think the proscuitto and the sprinkling of seasoning is what sent it from "good" to "epic." If you're wondering which sub to order, I don't think you'll go wrong with the Italian.

    Sad sandwich from Bruno's

This is their #2 Italian sub $11.00 for this sub.....if you like a sub with meat sliced so thin you can't taste it, then this is the place for you... you have the price point high enough to put a respectable amount of meat on your subs. Then there was a funny taste to it, that almost tasted like a perfume/lotion? Disappointing is an understatement. Ambiance was very minimal, not much in decor, the lady at the register was very nice. However, I don't see me going there again, let alone order food from them, for my next large event.

I've given this place a few chances to impress, but they are not doing it for me. First, I'd say the service is not very friendly. The ladies that run this place seem very rushed and not too courteous to customers. The sandwiches have a couple of redeeming qualities, namely the Amorosa roll and the quality meats (don't order the tuna). That said they don't make the sandwich well, no sauces, no Mayo, just a small squirt of oil. So you get a very dry, tasteless sandwich. Since they are around the corner from me, I've been trying to like the place and give it a shot. I'd take the sandwich back home to put some Mayo or more oil on it to help it along. That said, today was the worst. I stopped in for a tuna sandwich and ordered "Bruno's tuna salad." The lady gave me attitude and then they clearly just put a plain can of tuna on a roll for me. No "salad" and they didn't even drain the water! Totally done with this place

Update, 3/31/16: My job has kept me in PA for much longer than anticipated, and my office is within walking distance of Bruno's. I have frequented this establishment more than I can keep count (as you can see by my number of check-ins.) I have never been disappointed. Always clean, always quick and always what I expect. The staff has always been friendly during my visits. When my project wraps up and I leave PA, I will miss my little Bruno's and their sandwiches. A few tips: - Bread is delivered daily from Philadelphia. - Only open during the weekday. - Closes at 2pm. - Accepts cash/credit/debit. - Call ahead for large orders. - They are very popular so don't wait too late in the day to grab lunch because they run out of items due to high demand! - They also sell salads, chips, soup, teas, sodas and cupcakes.

We started with a drink at the bar and were greeted right away with friendly, attentive service, which set a great tone for the evening. There was a special Valentine's Day menu, and the food was genuinely delicious and presented beautifully. The only downside was that my entree was a bit lukewarm when it arrived, which seemed tied to some service mix-ups. The appetizer meant for the table next to us was brought to us first, and our meals were initially taken to that table before the mistake was caught. None of it ruined the night, but it did affect the timing and temperature slightly. Cocktails were excellent. The espresso martini and the Manhattan were both well-balanced. I'd still recommend The Imperial for a special occasion and would come back, especially for the atmosphere, bar service, and drinks.

Some mornings when I stop in to grab lunch on the way to work, the person behind the counter is friendly, knowledgeable, and efficient while making my order. Usually on these days the quality of the order is A+ (good portion, no missing ingredients, quick). However, there's other mornings where I make a quick stop en route to work only to find some of the most painfully slow service I could imagine just for one salad and maybe a cup of soup. To top it off, the person behind the counter usually doesn't know what type of soup they have (why isn't it just labeled?), usually doesn't fill the salad bowl up all the way, doesn't know what type of dressing is what (again, why aren't they labeled?), and usually doesn't have half of the salad ingredients prepared. Just this morning I ordered the special "summer salad" only to be told that literally half of the ingredients weren't prepped yet. I've certainly had some good lunches here which keeps me trying but overall I'm pretty disappointed in the quality of staff behind the counter.

My 91 year old mother came here as a child with her dad in the '40s when they came to the city for doctor appts and she said it looks just the same. This place looks antiquated, and on the negative side I did not see a ramp or any handicap access. My mom was able to lift her walker up and down the 2 stone steps. The doors are heavy and the entrance narrow. The bathrooms could accommodate a wheelchair if the doors weren't so narrow. I imagine they have some kind of historical variance allowing them to be so inaccessible. Service was slow but with a smile. Servers were friendly and fellow diners chatty as well. Most food offerings are $10 or less. I ordered a blueberry pancake, plate sized and full of blueberries. I wanted to put butter on it but those hard little butter pats were not going to work. My mom also got pancakes. They were filling, not particularly yummy but considering our total bill was under $20 including iced teas I didn't complain. Some of the desserts looked yummy. Apparently there is an attached space for possibly a larger party but it was closed for construction. Otherwise it is pretty much booth space for 4 or the counter. Here you will find quick Japanese dishes including several sandwiches (Sando) and stir fry, including both Noodle and rice dishes. The site has been previously occupied by other eateries. Street parking is available and there is a small parking lot behind the restaurant, which I assume is there parking, but I am unsure if it's for the restaurant or not. Inside, the eatery was dimly lit and throughout you can find various pieces of Japanese artwork on the walls which also happened to be for sale. It was also slightly warm when I dined in and I noticed the thermostat was set to 79°, which made it slightly uncomfortable for me but, to be fair, I am prone to being warmer than the average person. When I was there it was the owner who was the only one operating the place as her assistance was running late that day so she was responsible for all the food prep and customer service which I could imagine could be taxing on her. Despite this fact, she always demonstrated a positive attitude and was friendly. I went for their lunch service and for $10 you get your choice of entree, one side, and a drink. The person who I got lunch with ordered the yakisoba and it looked good. Unfortunately I was unable to capture a photo of his dish. Me, on the other hand, ordered the omo rice with chicken. This was my first time ever experiencing this dish and it was presented slightly different than what I had expected given that I have seen it on videos before. Regardless of this fact it was still very delicious. I ordered potato fries as my side with some of the additional dipping Mayo, which was a blend of mayonnaise and Japanese mustard and was delicious. Some other dipping sauces are also available upon requests at a small upcharge. I do plan on returning to the restaurant to try more of their options as I saw several things that peaked my interest. Be aware that if you pay by card that the operating system does not give an option to provide a tip for service. Fortunately, I had some cash on hand and I was able to leave a tip at the table so I would advise, especially if your dining in, to bring a couple extra bucks with you.
