My husband and I tried Primo Hoagies for the first time today. We were impressed! I had the turkey Diablo and he had the Audie. Best subs we've had in a long time. Veggies were fresh and the hoagie roll was soft and chewy. The best part was the customer service. Both employees were helpful and friendly. When we complimented them on this they told us they strive for every customer to have a positive experience when they come in. We certainly did! read more

Amazing customer service and always great food. I ordered on-line for pick up. When I arrived I asked if they could give me the dressing for the sandwich on the side because I wasn't going to eat for a few hours. The manager said no problem and then handed me a bag with all the toppings to my sandwich in separate containers so I could make the sandwich later. She said she didn't want me to eat a soggy sandwich. Chains don't normally give you this kind of customer service. May sound like a little thing, but after a long day it was great to sit down to a fresh hoagie! read more

I very, very much enjoy Primo Hoagies. I often made special detours when visiting the Philadelphia area to get me some Primo. With the recent opening of the Lancaster, PA location, I was thrilled. I visited this store many times since their opening and they serve the hoagies I have grown to love. The only downside to this location is the speed of service. Even with a small to moderate line, I once waited 25 minutes to get a single, whole hoagie. I'll be going back to this location, but hope it's just some initial kinks that need worked out. read more

Ordered one Italian sub, sat and waited for 20 MINUTES, and there was only one order ahead of mine. Wasn't aware it takes that long to put meat and lettuce on a sub roll but I will definitely never come back to this location. read more

Primo = Premier Love this as another option for the area. Made to order with the meat sliced right after you tell em what you want. I think kicker here is the refrigerator with the sides to go. Grab some fresh mozz, olives, or pasta salad to go with your sub. Menu does have too many options though and a little overwhelming, otherwise when you make a choice, enjoy. read more

Management reached out to us for our less-than-okay service that night. I was floored by her kindness and sincerity in wanting to make things right. Hiccups happen every now-and-then in food service, and I'm pretty understanding of this. Quality cut, fresh meat and breads. I absolutely loved Primo when I had a hoagie from them from Philadelphia long ago. Thankfully... Thank God - I discovered one with friends here two days ago. Two days later.. I'm back. The first time I went with an Italian Primo size hoagie. Today - was a "Pork Diablo." Dear god was it good. So try either the Italian Primo, or Pork Diablo. When getting the Pork Diablo - Get onions. A little bit of oil and vinegar. Tomato on the side. All i can remember from what I ordered.. The sandwhich was close to perfection. Forget subway. Forget other sub stores. All of them- Doesn't hold a Candle to this place. I'm Italian... Have had Italian food. Here - is the real deal. The Restaurant was clean. This is definitely a step up from subway. A lot more gourmet and fresh. Service was slower, but that comes with the territory of fresh and gourmet sandwiches. Only 4 stars because my "whacked chicken" was good but not a home run sandwich. I would definitely pick this over subway. read more

I have been to many Primo Hoagies in the area. This one is normally the best one around. This trip was not so good. Service was ok and the place looked clean and bright. All normal. I order my usual Italian Diablo primo size hoagie and head home to enjoy it. First bite I notice that there is a piece of casing from the cured meat in it. No big deal it happens so I toss it and continue on eating my delicious sandwich. Unfortunately every slice of meat seems to have the casing on it. So I spend some time picking thru before finally giving up and tossing it. Call in and explain the situation only to have them tell me that the meat has a cured outer shell that is most likely what I was noticing. Well as I said. Many subs from there and other places have never experienced that. I know the difference between the cured outer shell on Italian deli meats and the plastic feeling wrapper that you peel off before you slice it. They never peeled back the casing but didn't want to admit it. Sad because I do really enjoy their subs. read more

The Primo size is way larger than expected! I ended up getting three meals out of one sandwich. Definitely a lot of bang for your buck. They also really stuffed the sandwich to the brim. My complaints have to do with service. First of all, while I was ordering there was someone directly in front of me taking a phone order and rolling their eyes the whole time. Secondly, it took an egregiously long time for them to make my sandwich and it was completely empty. I even walk to duck donuts, ordered a custom donut, waited for them to make it, and walked back and my sandwich was still not ready. read more

We got 2 hoagies tonight and both were soaking wet. I mean really wet. The outside felt like it got in some water. Total garbage. My wife took a bite of hers and couldn't eat it. I didn't even bother. I told the kid they were wet and he took the meat and cheese from both sandwiches and put them on new rolls. Disgusting. We could have HIV for all he knew. One of them clearly had a bite out of it. They should have been discarded entirely. And they don't cut their sandwiches. What gives with that? This is supposed to be a "Philly" type sandwich shop. Show me a shop in Philly that doesn't automatically cut their hoagies. There isn't one. I asked the kid to cut the new ones and he asked "How many pieces would you like it cut into?" I don't know. Confetti? I told him - just in half. When he gave it to me he said "I cut it in half but I wrapped them together. Is that okay?" Can you believe this? Like he figured it out or something. And what's with asking if you want lettuce, tomato and onion on it? That's what makes it a hoagie. If you didn't want any of that it would be a big ham and cheese sandwich and not a hoagie. Tall, dorky kid in the back gets in an attitude because he has to remake the thing. It's not his fault, I suppose. The employees are from Lancaster. And they wouldn't know good food if you threw it at them. The new sandwiches were pretty good. The ingredients are always fresh but you have to insist that they drain the veggies. Always get that wrong. I asked for mayo and oil and there was barely any. They just don't know what they are doing. If the owner cared about the success of this location, he/she would be there regularly to make sure the staff were properly trained. What are you going to do when you are hungry in Lancaster, PA? They only thing they know how to make here is over cooked, starchy unseasoned, improperly presented garbage. read more

Great hoagie shop. Been to many primos in the greater Philly area, and glad to have our own now in Lancaster. Tons and tons of choices, the owner seems friendly. They make everything fresh and made to order. The meat and cheese is sliced specifically for your sub, so no worries about spoiled meat like some lesser traveled shops have. Lots of topping choices. My only suggestion would be to provide more drink choices, I don't care for any of the soda choices on tap (it's a small tap) and not a huge fan of bottled soda. Would prefer some teas or something. read more

Lancaster County is not known for their cheesesteaks....real cheesesteaks like Steve's, John's Roast Pork, Jim's and Chinks in Philadelphia. Ok we'll throw in the well known (but certainly not the best) ones....Pats and Gino's. People here have no idea that the roll is so important. They would accept some meat thrown on a hot dog roll as a good cheesesteak, it drives me nuts. Unfortunately Lancaster pizza shops were invaded by New Yorkers who are clueless on cheesesteaks or pizza for that matter and that is for another review. For decades I had to go places like Cravings and Pizza City (in Strasburg) whereas the rolls are like Amoroso's or like them, who the hell knows. Not good. Now, I do not have to go there for my substitute staple when stuck in the county. FINALLY after all these years a Real Philly cheesesteak is here. I got mine w/wiz. The roll was like no other in Lancaster. The meat was quality rib eye and just right. I went to the Primos Fruitville location and the staff is extremely polite and great. Well run shop here in Township. Primo's is a Philly staple and this location just started offering cheesesteaks last week. I wish they offered fries, but who cares Real Cheesesteaks have arrived!! This place has really gone down hill. When they first opened, the owners were so friendly and accommodating. So it became our regular routine to come in for hot roast pork and cheese hoagies every other Sunday. Suddenly one Sunday afternoon we were told they no longer serve the pork, or rather the pork Au jus, but that they could serve the pork in the beef au jus. Although the beef is a bit heavier on the salt we went with it. The second time we went back, were advised the same, and we advised we were good with the beef au jus. The lady at the counter was unsure as to how she should bill it so she put roast beef per the cooks order....we didn't get pork, we were served roast beef. That was alright, we understood and ate our beef.Today we go in for our regular and have been advised by a young strawberry blonde man that PRIMO is no longer serving any hot meats outside of meatballs as THEY PULL THE HOTS FROM THE MENU FOR THE WINTER?! read more

I read the other reviews first and I guess they must of hired a new crew. My first visit after being told they were the best in town. The young lady that took my order was very helpful. She help me make a couple of choices. This is the first place that gave you a choice between bread or a bowl sub. I waited maybe 10 mins but that is not bad for a fresh made sandwich or sub or also know as a hoagie. The order was exactly what I had ordered. The Hoagies were very good. I've had a lot of sub's, hogies, etc and the old fashioned Italian sausage is way up there on my list... Great bread (I got the seeded) great sausage, great sauce. Not sure how they could do it any better. Took a little while, they really do make it fresh to order. The cute half of our couple had the tuna diablo-they actually mix the tuna for each order and the toppings were exceptional, she somehow finished the whole medium hoagie which is really big. Outstanding service, three different people checked in with us, another brought me extra marinara sauce, just because. this is at a counter service place! Came here with my family for lunch. The food was amazing as always but for this location I have to say customer service was outstanding! The lady who helped us was so nice and sweet. I asked for a slice or 2 of ham for my 18 month old and she gave us a whole container for no charge. She checked on us numerous times and even cleaned up our table for us. As we were leaving she stopped us and gave us 3 bags of leftover bread to take with us, stating they make bread hourly and it was just going to go to waste. It all starts with a great roll and then all the tasty ingredients that go into a wonderful sandwich. Fresh made. With the exception of the setting outside, almost felt like I was in Philly. Finally, a great sandwich shop in Lancaster! If you are a native of Philly or the suburbs outside of Philly you NEED to check this place out ASAP. For one, the rolls! Yum. I don't know what it is about Lanc, but rarely do I find a place that measures up to Philly rolls. It's not surprising since this place originated in South Philly. Also, the chicken cutlet w basil & pesto is something my Nonna would be proud of. Next, the hot pork w sharp prov & broccoli rabe-drool worthy. Not quite on DiNic's level, but who is. My favorite sub shop. Love the freshness and quality of food and love the owner! Usually see him there working his butt off but always smiling and joking with patrons. Bread is always fresh, meats are always fresh and sliced thin like I prefer. Very, very excellent sub shop. Happy they franchised out here. The owners are wonderful. I had a great experience with the wife on Fruitville Pike. During lunch she was asking if anyone needed any extra dressing/toppings, taking peoples finished plates to the trash and chatting. Very lovely and grateful woman. My mom had a similar experience with the husband at the Lititz Pike location. Wonderful service on top of fantastic subs. The potato salad is also delicious and I don't even normally like potato salad. I've heard complaints that it's a little pricey, but the amount of food you/re getting is much larger than that of a cheap subway sub. read more

Don't go here if you want your food in under an hour. Took an hour and 9 minutes today to get my order. Lines out the door, one person at the register AND answering the phone. They don't seem to be able to staff the place properly. I watched a table of 6 get their orders one every 5 minutes and the last lady had to ask for hers to go because lunch was over. I ordered a turkey and ham American cheese whole wheat wrap with onions mayo and lettuce and a water and it was so good and the employees are so friendly and the manager is extremely friendly!!! For $12 for a wrap and drink is a little expensive but the quality is so worth it :) even got free samples of bread :) will definitely be coming here for my wrap subs more often. My husband was impressed with the quality of meat they use but they are very friendly in explaining there food and what the different sizes are and prices; The sub pricing for platters is so much better and better sampling of different subs then subway :) can't believe me and my husband waited so long to try this place never again :) you want great sub/wrap and awesome quality meats and cheese please definitely try this place :) I will definitely be a frequent customer here :) read more

When i arrived, i walked up to the counter and one of the bosses shouted to one of the kids yo! you got a customer! The kid didn't seem happy to help me and it looked like he was having a rough day.
