From the moment we arrived, we were pleased this was the place we chose to celebrate Mother's Day. Many small nice touches throughout the meal. Offering lemon, lime, and cucumber to enhance your water, a warm and scrumptious popover served with infused butter, and very professional staff. We started with the pictured ahi tuna appetizer. I was so engaged with the rest of my meal that I didn't capture the light and buttery sea bass, the beet risotto, my dining partner's aged NY strip (cooked perfectly and as requested) or my mimosa served with choice of juices. Look forward to returning again soon!

I ordered a special ribeye cap steak medium. Came out very well done. Replacement was cancelled and they brought it in a to go box some 20 minutes after everyone was done eating. I did try it and was overly salty too. Tried a bunch of sides. Carrots, creamed spinach, mashed potatoes and a baked potato. Mostly ate the baked. Tasted like they finished it in a microwave. Enjoyed the time and service but the food is far from worth the spend.

I visited as part of a work related event and was able to enjoy both the bar and dining room. The bar selections were first-rate and while not extensive they were well-considered. John Jeffries specializes in local farm to table ingredients. I enjoyed a watercress potato soup followed by the Puedmontese grass-fed petite beef steak. Both were absolutely delicious. The service was first-rate: friendly and attentive without being obnoxious and VERY well-trained to a level you'd expect in a much larger city. Can't wait to bring my companion back for a visit that I know she will love.

The hotel lobby and bar are welcoming and represent entree to this small eatery. This place features local farm items so the menu is always subject to change. We went to celebrate an anniversary (not ours) and it was a nice welcome for the server to offer the celebrants complimentary prosecco. From there, it was an adventure. Three of us had the shrimp and grits, which, uniquely, were not the typical southern dish but an earthy creation featuring very barley forward grits that also included very chunky carrots and other enhancements I am at a loss to identify. Good, but a surprise for my southern shrimp and grits-expecting palate. The shrimp were pretty overcooked and detracted from the barley-enhanced grits. Two enjoyed the wedge salad. For mains, two enjoyed the shrimp bisque, and the pan fried boneless chicken breast. I had the meatloaf and found it to be a bit gamier than expected likely due to using grass fed beef. The mushroom gravy was nice despite some of the mushrooms having gone over the rainbow bridge. The tallow fried potatoes were luscious despite one being undercooked. The desserts were interesting and all supposedly made in-house. I had the mint chocolate chip ice cream which I found somewhat grainy and crystallized and very lacking in mint flavor. The flourless chocolate cake will likely shock you with its petiteness, but trust me, it packs a wallop of richness that will probably satisfy you. The tres leches cake and honey lavender crème brûlée got high marks. Overall we all liked the ambiance, and were somewhat disappointed with the food. 3.5* rounded down to 3*.

I've visited this place twice now and usually I'm not too inspired to write a review, but my visit…read morelast night really showed how much I enjoy the general vibe and especially the food of this place. When you enter this place its at ground level and immediately you recognize you need to take the stairs up. Once you usher yourself up it opens up to two areas where you wait to be seated. The place is an older vintage like gastropub where the front is one bar and some seating, but on the backside is more open seating with where the band and another bar are situated. This place isn't meant to be for large groups, but could possibly accommodate groups of 6. The main bar which also next to the kitchen is an older vintage style bar and whisky's is nothing special but once you sit down and hear the music you settle in nicely. Service has always been courteous and prompt and the menu looks like there are a good assortment of choices. The two times I've been here I've ordered the mussels which includes great sauce and spread with seasoned ground meet. Was so yummy! The second time I came I tried the CHICKEN FRICASSEE. Man was that great! It includes 4 pieces of bread, chicken and the mushroom sauce. So good! Both times I had some of their assortment of single scoop ice-cream which in this area, something about the milk from their amish cows is so creamy. All that said, this is one of my fav places to come enjoy a glass of wine and food. Oh and Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday's they have some instrumental band playing too.

Both arrived in a timely manor but not right on top of the appetizer--timed perfectly! The steaks were tender and cooked exactly to order! The matchstick French fries sided the steaks perfectly! The coleslaw and broccoli rounded things out nicely! We were too full for dessert, perhaps next time! The manager stopped by to check on everything as we were wrapping up-very personable and polite! Ordered drinks while looking at the menu. As we ordered our top 2-3 choices were sold out. Guess that's a good thing if you were there before us! Limited menu with some eclectic pairings. Pretty empty outside only us and one other table of customers. The server tells my daughter that she has to sit across the way on a public bench away from their restaurant because she has a food item that isn't purchased from their establishment. I couldn't believe it. My daughter (who already ate more than half) goes and sits away from her parents and when she finishes comes back crying and so visibly upset at what just occurred. This was our first visit. Why no warning for the next time? Who treats their customers like this? Especially people with special needs. And my husband did tell the female server that she did have special needs. She said ok but obviously didn't care. Right next to our table there was cheerios scattered on the ground which no one swept up and was inviting ants. I didn't know they sell cheerios.

Joining for dinner on a Thursday evening in July, here's my experience. 1) Food: The chef and pastry chef take their jobs seriously. Every dish was unique, full of flavor, beautiful, and worth every dollar. To start, they bring out homemade bread made fresh every morning with salted butter. I ordered the special- five jumbo shrimp with smoked garlic aioli. (They have cocktail sauce if you want it, but the garlic is phenomenal.) Before the main came out, the chef brought over the gazpacho using vegetables from his garden. The soup was thicker than I'm used to, but it paired perfectly with the vegetables. It was delicious! The scallops for the main were perfectly cooked and worked with the sauce in the middle of the plate and the green sauce on top of each scallop. Another winner! The lemon custard was refreshing for dessert. It's presented so well where you uncover more layers with each bite. 2) Drinks: They have a full cocktail menu with drinks named after famous people, wine, beer, and mocktails. Enjoying more sweet drinks, I ordered the "Marilyn Monroe." It was a fun drink, but a little too sweet for me. If you like berry and sweet drinks, you'll love it! 3) Service: It's excellent from start to finish. My server Tate was friendly, passionate about the menu, and efficient. His timing with everything was impeccable. 4) Space: It's beautiful. Despite on the basement level, it's lit well with photos of famous icons on the walls. It's iconic!

Not that I'm expecting anything free, but a complimentary dessert would've been nicer - many other much less expensive restaurants do offer something like that for a special occasion. The service was very good, attentive and friendly. We both ordered a pasta special. The server said you could add shrimp for $13 or scallops for $22. I got the shrimp added and my husband got the scallops added. The pasta was ok, very oily and a small portion. When the check came, they charged us $32 for the added scallops (3 scallops). We questioned it and she told us she never said $22, they are $32. That is an astronomical price for 3 scallops as an add-on to a meal. This place is highly overpriced for what you get.
