Best long johns in Lancaster and most likely the world :) check out their weekly donut flavors for some great selections.

Achenbach's is a Lancaster County staple! And open during COVID (with modified hours). Cakes, muffins, pastries...there's something for everyone. Long john's - so simple, yet so good. The caramel brownies were dangerously addictive.

Had to stop in for some fresh Long John's before I left Lancaster. It's a local favorite and highly recommended. They have a huge selection of pastries. Just wish they had gluten free options.

Update: We had the best experience getting out son's first birthday cake here. Everyone was blown away by how incredible it was. They also know my son by name and always give him a donut hole when stop in. We love this place so much!

If in the New Holland, PA area, you must stop at Achenbachs! They specialize in the long john, but I've yet to have a pastry is didn't enjoy. Three helpful hints: First, get there earlier in the morning. If you don't, they tend to run out of a lot of items due to their popularity. Second, it gets busy and parking is very limited. You may have to park alongside the road and walk. Finally, be patient. The inside is not large and you may need to wait in line to get in during the busiest of times. Understand, though, that places that busy equates to quality and customer satisfaction! They're great!

We've been getting long johns from Achenbachs since I was a kid. I introduced my boyfriend to their donuts, and he's a huge fan. I decided to get a long john cake for him for his birthday. I had never ordered a long john cake, so I didn't know what to expect. All I told them was to make it fishing themed, and they exceeded my expectations! It was very well decorated, delicious, and very reasonably priced.

Mediocre at best. Giant has better donuts and pastries. I don't see what is so good about this place imo

We love Achenbach's. Their long johns are the best. Always get a Long John cake for our son's birthday.

STEER CLEAR I am not surprised to see the many '1 star'…read morereviews of this terrible bread. I bought a loaf of the "Blueberry Crumb Bread" at Cullipher Farm (Va. Beach, VA) $8.50. It looked delicious - it is NOT delicious. There is no chance for this bread to taste good. It has a few small blueberries that survived the blending of the blueberries into a blueberry slurry - or whatever was used for the blueberry - I am thinking a canned product - definitely not fresh fruit. Whatever was used for blueberry flavor was mixed into the bread dough/batter before baking. This produced veins of blueberry in the baked bread. Absolutely no blueberry flavor in this bread. A good baker would never create a recipe like this. The bread itself is thick and doughy and the dominant flavor is flour (not in a good way) - this is the work of someone who cannot call themselves a baker. I am a retired chef and have worked with many good bakers. This is not the work of a baker. The bread becomes thick and chewy and is hard to swallow. I literally spit the bread out. I am sorry to write such a harsh review but I am disgusted with this product and as a professional I find it very aggravating that the bakery would let this go out of their kitchen instead of getting it right. Toasting the bread and adding butter was a waste. This is not Blueberry Crumb Bread it is Crummy Blueberry Bread. Steer Clear.
