I spotted this little gem from across the street at the Mexican restaurant. My diet said "oh, no you don't, little missy," but my taste buds said "let's just take a little look-see." I considered myself very well-behaved that I only chose four things when there was so much to pick from! The chocolate covered cc cookie dough bites were on point, in fact better than I expected. I'd have never known they were gf, which is always the goal. Well done! I also loved the cupcakes, the vegan chocolate with marshmallow frosting (vegan of course) was perfection, and I'd definitely order it again. The spice cupcake was delicious too! All three of my choices were moist and not too heavy (sometimes challenging for gf,) and my diet is very lucky I don't live local...because I would be back. Probably repeatedly. I eat 90% paleo but decided to go here for a treat, suffice that to say that I am not used to eating white sugar. I got the vegan coffee cake to start with. It was a good flavor, but so incredibly sweet I had to eat one slice in three sittings. I could barely handle eating a couple of bites at a time because of how sweet it was. The texture wasn't great. It was really dense, but also spongy at the same time, which was kind of weird and then the top seemed to have cornflakes on top. The vegan lemon poppyseed muffin I got from the freezer and thawed to eat the next morning. It has such a metallic taste that I had to throw it out. I'm not sure if the bakery uses a baking soda with aluminum in it, but that was all I could taste and ended up throwing it out. The vegan mac and cheese was almost inedible. It was gritty and had no flavor but I added a ton of frank's to it which allowed me to finish it so I didn't waste my money. Lastly was the vegan strawberry cupcake which was probably the best of the items I got. Again, it was incredibly dense but the frosting was surprisingly light and fluffy and was the redeeming factor of all of the things i've eaten. I worry that people see "gluten free" or "vegan" and assume that this food is healthy but it's so full of sugar that it made me not feel great. I bake and cook everyday using almond, tapioca, coconut flours, maple sugar, honey, coconut sugar, cashew frosting, cashew cheese, so it is possible to make things healthy and delicious. I can tell that the owner does this as a labor of love, but I think maybe they should consider finding some healthier alternatives which will taste better and be better for you. read more

I wanted to share my experience having visited the bakery yesterday morning after learning they had a a snickerdoodle Whoopie pie with apple frosting inside. It was unique so I wanted to try it so I drove right over and picked up three for our family to eat that night. After dinner, all three tried our own and were quite disappointed with our special dessert. We eat exclusively gluten-free so we've had other experiences to compare, but felt like these were quite disappointing. I've had their scones previously, and it tasted like they used scone batter to make the Whoopie pie outer shells. They weren't soft at all or similar to a traditional Whoopie pie. The apple flavored filling was pretty good, but trying to eat 2 large outer shells, along with the frosting, resulted in the frosting squeezing out when trying to take a bite. Maybe there regular Whoopie pies are more similar to a traditional one, but these really missed the mark. read more

Found this gem while searching the area for gluten free options. It is an amazing little store where everything is gluten free and made fresh daily. They had 2 display cases with fresh baked pastries as well as a huge freezer filled with frozen items such as GF pizza dough, quiches, and periogies. From the things we tried everything had a wonderful texture and flavor and was hard to distinguish that it was even gluten free. We spoke to the owner and he told us that they even mill their own rice flour. Some things that we purchased were cherry almond scones, lemon cream cheese danish, strawberry iced cupcakes, and frozen periogies to name a few. The prices were extremely reasonable for what they provided. Definitely worth the trip if you are gluten free and looking for great quality and tasty treats! read more

Their iced chocolate brownies are my go-to, especially when they have them with cream cheese icing. I've also purchased two decorated cakes from them and have been super impressed by both the taste and the decorations! This is a nice little bakery. I stopped by to try the cupcakes an hour or two before closing and was glad they still had one kind that was vegan (as well as gluten-free) since all the other cupcakes had eggs in them. I got a vegan lemon cupcake that was a little overpoweringly sweet. It's fair to say 'duh, cupcakes are sweet' but I would have preferred to taste more lemon flavor than pure sugar. My husband had an orange flavored cupcake that he said was good for being gluten-free. I love that this place exists and hope it does well. Since I'm not in the area very often I probably won't go back but if you are looking for some gluten free goodies check it out! read more

Adorable little shop in Florin. Always fresh and a new section every day. They have both savory and sweet goods. You can make special orders for cakes, breads , rolls, etc. with a 2 day notice. This is a great little shop. A great family ran business. They did our wedding cake and it was beautiful! It was gluten free. Their hours are a little tough if you work full time and you need to make an appointment with her if you need to order a special cake. Going early is key to get the food. Waste of time. Super small store with an even smaller selection of baked goods. Being a Celiac, I was ecstatic to find there was a gluten free bakery not too far from me but the minute I walked in to this place my heart sunk. I was so disappointed. It smelled terrible and had very little to choose from - there were two loaves of bread (both white bread), two different flavors of cupcakes, and maybe three types of brownies to choose from. That's IT!! I wound up buying two cupcakes. The first one was so awful I threw the other one away!! Totally not worth the trip. I'm better off at my local grocery store. read more
