S'mores sundae-complete with fire - don't eat the sugar cubes used to create fire!

We went mid-afternoon on Mother's Day and thankfully, it wasn't too crowded. It was also more organized because they had specific lines for ice cream and hot food. It's still the cute shaded space that hasn't changed much in years, but I love it. This was my first visit this season and I don't remember the pricing being as high as it currently is. Sundaes were over $10. My SIL got a peanut butter milkshake that was over $8. Because it was Mother's Day I chose the S'mores sundae complete with a fire. So cute, but for $24 I won't order it again. Yes, you get to keep the mug, but it isn't worth $24. I still love this place even with the high prices. My husband and daughter shared fries, and he got a cheeseburger and a drink - he told me he thought that cost $24. The only reason I gave 4 stars is because I thought the pricing was high.

The Jigger Shop is not a Mt. Greta hidden gem-- it's a well-known destination in the area. Offering a food menu, hand dipped ice cream, soft serve, and other treats like beignets, there is something for everyone. Mt. Gretna is a summer resort/vacation town, so prices are a little steep (especially when it comes to specialty sundaes) but portions are large and definitely sharable. Avoid peak times, like super hot days and afternoons and evenings, when the shop is absolutely filled to capacity with long lines. Service is still fast, with a lot of workers behind the counter, and there is quite a bit of indoor and outdoor seating. If all of the seating is occupied, there are also benches available nearby. Free guest wifi is also available.

Stumbled upon "The Jigger Shop" while visiting Mt. Gretna and was pleasantly surprised. Open only a few months out of the year, this retro Icecream joint serves quality sundaes, pastries, and American fare. The classic "Jigger" sundae was loaded with homemade marshmallow, toasted nuts, vanilla Icecream, and your choice of butterscotch or chocolate sauce (I went with butterscotch). Overall, the sundae was extremely sweet but a bit overpriced (there is definitely a touristy aspect to the place). The beignets were good, and the service was friendly and speedy. Overall, a fun place to go while visiting --but I wouldn't say it's the best Icecream I've had in central PA. 4/5 stars

The Jigger Shop. This place was POPPIN' when we walked by so my buddy and I knew we had to give it a try. There was a line wrapped around and almost through the door when we got there, but it went faster than my decision on what to get off the menu. With a bunch of teenagers working their butts off behind the counter, they were servicing the customers like a well oiled, friendly, smiling machine. The shop looks like it was pulled straight of the 1930s - cute, quaint, well lit, welcoming. Tons of seating inside and benches outside to enjoy your dessert on a nice warm day. I saw someone carrying out something on fire, so I attempted to get that. I ordered the flambé apple dessert, which she proceeded to light on fire behind the counter. Her work, nothing short of Picasso-level artistry. I'm t tasted phenomenal. That perfect mix of hot and cold. Such a great shop in the middle of Mt. Gretna. I recommend this place even if you're not in the area. It's worth a visit.

A place for ice cream, not for food. So I'll just go ahead and get the negative out of the way. The food is overpriced and really bad. The fries are great, but other than that, be warned. This is not a place to go for a good dinner. If the prices were cheaper, the lack of quality might be justified. The food is about the quality of a community college kitchen. That being said, the ice cream and sundaes are fantastic. I've had almost every sundae on the menu, and let me tell you, they are ALL delicious. If you want alterations, the serving girls are attentive and go out of their way to make sure you are happy with your order. They made me a S'mores Milkshake, something they had never made before. WOWZERS IT WAS TASTY!!! The creativity of this place deserves to be commended. This is a relaxing, wonderful place to get a sundae, milkshake, or scoop. Oh, and get the frosted Birch Beer. Just do it. :)

A MUST DINE! Due to COVID there is plentiful outdoor seating and they are taking all precautions when placing orders. Very organized manner to get food. Two separate lines for ice cream vs regular food. Lines moved swiftly even though there were a lot of people. So many options for icecream. Will have to return and try some more! I ordered the strawberry shortcake sundae (I was hoping for more "cake" but icecream flavor and creaminess made up for it). Boyfriend ordered the apple fritter sundae and was amazing (better than mine). So excited to try more flavors! Also service was amazing, the girls at the counter were very sweet and helpful with recommendations.

Great ice cream treats but the prices are crazy expensive. Worth a try but won't be your regular place.

Ridiculous pricing for Basic food and ice cream. Definitely a place trying to take advantage of tourism.

When he got there, I selected I'm already here on the app, and it allowed me to select spot 5 for the pick up. My partner waited for over 15 mins, and the order was completed on my app. I told him to go in and check with management because something went wrong. The manager told him the app works off of location. He informed them that the money was withdrawn from my account, and the manager advised that the transaction would reverse to just give it a few business days. This is now over a week ago. I called twice since, and the first time was advised to give more time as it can take a few days. I had it until Sunday when I was only going to give it until Friday, and the transaction still did not reverse. When I called back again, I was told I'd have to wait for the store manager because they can not authorize my refund, and the manager will want to see my bank statement. I told them that's fine but then I want my refund because I have plenty of time and have been plenty patient. They then told me they don't know if their store manager will issue the refund because calling 2 weeks later (it was right over a week) is a red flag. So first, they advised us to wait BOTH times we tried addressing the issue and now are told waiting is an issue. I gave the lady my name and number and said I absolutely want a call back. We received NO FOOD WHATSOEVER. They didn't just give us the wrong order. We didn't get anything for the almost $40 they collected from us.
