Winter Aperol Spritz - Good start for our annual sibling dinner
    Jana L.

This place has been open for decades-- even though it is in the middle of nowhere! Says something for their cooking for sure! I was fortunate to go with a big group so I got to try a little bit of everything - the steak, which they are known for, their scallops, pasta, every appetizer under the sun, and then the ice cream for dessert - which I believe they source from fox creamery (which if you haven't been, I highly recommend). I seriously have no complaints other than we over ordered and I ate way too much!! Highlights for sure were the perfectly seared steak (they offer steak with a side of steak... in case you are interested), the tomahawk pork chop -- again, perfectly cooked -- the bone marrow appetizer (typically you get a dinky serving when you order that, but this was enough to share with 4 people easily). Drinks were delicious and I was told the Manhattan was on point so don't be afraid to adventure into their cocktail menu Also - the place is just cool and I imagine beautiful in the summer since their dining room faces out into the woods. I went on a cold, rainy night and the open fire was welcoming and warm. Just an absolute hidden gem! Seriously hidden though - please be careful on those back roads!

Had a wonderful dinner with my family. Everything was so delicious & Jacob, our server, was outstanding.

Went there for appetizers and boy did we eat good! Thanks Megan for taking such good care of us at the bar with our food and drink. Love the eclectic look of this place....very clean and calm inside and great music! We were there a few times when the original owner's daughter had it and it was very nice...they were very accommodating...and we were here in the winter time and sat by the fire pit and I was in heat heaven!!! Very nice meal...this time we fell in lust with the unique food......warmed olives with nice crusted bread.....whipped habanero honey dip with pitas....and Duck Nachos which were awesome! If you talk to Megan, she might remember a funny story about me and those nachos. Every bite was and explosion of flavors ever so tasty....please support local...your heart and belly will thank you!

Great atmosphere! our family loves coming here for dinner and drinks. the staff is always so friendly and the food is amazing. don't miss this hidden gem!

When arriving we were able to seat ourselves and there was maybe 2 other tables dining at the time. We were told the wait staff was very short handed, but I can say, they still did an awesome job at keeping drinks full, getting food out, and just checking in on the guests, especially since it was getting busier as we left. When it came to the food.... Chicken tenders with buffalo sauce: to me, this was probably the best thing, even though there was nothing special. The mild sauce really did not have much heat to it, for me that's a good thing, but my boyfriend wasn't too impressed Mac and Cheese: This was very bland, just nothing that made me want this again. I feel if they added in maybe another type of cheese it could have done something to the dish. My boyfriend added steak to his mac n cheese and it was over-done to him. Baked potato: it looked old and not very appetizing just by the skin French Fries: These were very different and had a sweet taste to them. I can say I was not a fan of these, but my boyfriend thought these were the best part of the meal. Overall, the service was very good based on the shortness of help, but the food was just average and nothing I would need to go back for.

A real…read morefire crackled in the stone fireplace in the lounge, and we were ushered into a charming stone dining room that felt like stepping back in time. The building itself clearly carries history -- I actually had to duck slightly to pass through the low stone archway leading to our table. It added to the character and intimacy of the space. We started with the tuna tartare, which was a standout. I'm "that aunt" in the family -- the one who encourages the kids to try new things -- and this dinner was my monthly outing with my nephew. So yes, raw tuna hit the table. It turned out to be the perfect introduction. Fresh, beautifully prepared, and approachable, it made trying something new feel effortless. A total win. He ordered chicken nuggets, and while that might sound simple, they were clearly house-made, fresh-cut, and thoughtfully prepared. For chicken nuggets, they were excellent. My scallops, unfortunately, didn't quite land for me. The accompanying preparation felt overly complex and ended up overpowering the natural delicacy of the scallops. That said, the menu offers plenty of other intriguing options, and I'd absolutely return to explore more. Service throughout the evening was kind, attentive, and prompt -- exactly what you hope for during a relaxed dinner out. Overall, a warm, character-filled spot with standout starters and welcoming staff. Looking forward to the next visit.

Asked for the Thai Basil rice instead of the quinoa. Waitress informed him as she served the others at our table that she sent his back because it was wrong. We dined inside, but the outside and bar were also filled with happily chatting patrons. Nichole, our charming waitress, provided great service and was happy to chat a bit even while managing several tables. Everyone in our party was happy with their meal, drinks and desert. We especially liked the 3 mentioned meals. The lemon risotto was a bit disappointing. The Ceasar salad was our fav. The garden salad with balsamic vinaigrette was ok. And the chili was well received. We had vanilla ice cream with chocolate sauce and sprinkles, which was great. And the peanut butter pie was a very large portion, more than 2 could share. We would recommend the half-baked chocolate chip cookie to share, as a previous fav. Further, the Ruben and Racheal are some of our more common happy orders. The hideaway burger is a typical order too. We also order some of the roast beef sandwiches from time to time, which we are not disappointed with. We do recommend happy hour from 4 to 6 for great specials. The service and ambiance make this place a fun visit.

It lends a feeling of low ceilings and coziness. You have glimpses of the wooded outdoors and paintings of wildlife. There's also a set of bronze climber that's rather quirky. Our party of seven was there to quietly celebrate a 31st wedding anniversary and the restaurant was very kind about our disorganized group. The guests of honor had ordered a Blue Moon Belgian White (served with an orange slice) and waters while waiting for the rest of us. The food was very well prepared. The St. Patrick's Day menu was an early feature & some of us took advantage with a notable option being the Reuben Quesadilla. My mother-in-law was concerned that the sauerkraut would make it soggy. We were pleased that her quesadilla was crispy & she said it was a generous amount of corned beef. Father-in-law ordered the Roast Beef #3, which is described as "Served hot on thick sliced sourdough, and smothered with fries & gravy". It was, indeed, smother in gravy and looked like a very generous portion to me. A couple other dishes were the Cajun Style Chicken Alfredo and Shepherd's Pie. I was informed that they were great dishes and sister-in-law-to-be claimed it was a better shepherd's pie than she could make at home. High praise! We had the Fish & chips. The haddock was a large filet, the batter was a good ratio to the flesh and the fry was a great temperature. There was no excess of greasiness. The chips and fish were very crunchy without being dried out inside. The tartar sauce was unremarkable, but the coleslaw was perfect; tangy with vegetables that had a crisp crunch. Our waitress was very patient with our little one; the pickiest of us declined anything except a beverage until it was time for dessert, which was a kids vanilla ice cream, with sprinkles. I ordered a Lemon Berry Cream Mascarpone - a white cake with a delicate crumb, delicious cream filling, tart cranberries and sweet blueberries. Absolutely the best dessert I've had in Pennsylvania. The rest of the party ordered Cheesecakes and Irish Bread pudding. There were no complaints to be heard.
