I'm so torn in the writing of this review, because I love or loved the Olde Lincoln House (OLH) restaurant, but this particular meal on Valentine's Day, was sad, disappointing and unforgivable. Even though I made a reservation, the parking (both lots), completely full and in semi-empty spaces, held heaps of snow. We partially parked on the side, of a heaping pile and my husband had to scoot his butt, past the steering wheel, to get out of the car. Why am I harping on the car parking situation? Because, if this restaurant choose to stick to those who had reservations, only; I feel there would have been ample parking available. I would have preferred to sit downstairs, dimmed lighting, wooden beams and overall, cozier feel. Yeah, I should have spoken up as to where I would have preferred to sit, but now I'm feeling slighted, by the lack of courtesy shown towards someone, who had the foresight to make a reservation in advance. Upstairs we went - bright lights, white table cloths, nothing cozy or hinting of Valentine's Day. That's okay, I'm thinking; the food will be good. A crock of onion soup, as a starter - perfect, actually, not too salty, caramelized onions, bubbly broiled cheese, savory onion broth, no complaints here. Medium-well prime rib, served raw, with a butter knife, no accompanied horseradish and over-cooked potato slices, undercooked zucchini. I sent it back to the kitchen. The same steak came back to me (not a new one), thirty minutes later, with the proper steak knife and horseradish. My husband's entree of five smallish scallops - decorated by halved, charred brussel sprouts on either side, looked more like an appetizer. I have been to Olde Lincoln House three times recently after living in the area for nearly 5 years. Each time, I took a different group of people: Newcomers & Neighbors of Lancaster, a group of retirees from where I live and tonight, 3 special friends. A few had eaten here years ago and for the rest, this was a new place to eat. We all thoroughly enjoyed our meals. Excellent service. Really enjoyed the summer time drink specials and the pineapple salmon entree. This place was a refreshing change from other venues. Even a party of 12 could talk and hear everyone. Found this place on Yelp after walking around the Green Dragon farmers market on July 3rd. The wait staff was great. My wife and I good the prime rib sandwich. The roll was nice and soft and the meat to bun ratio was great. My wife got a side salad with hers and was pretty big for a side. I go the baked beans and a French onion soup. Everything was great. Everything was really good with this visit, EXCEPT we could not find the handicapped entrance. The main entrance next to the parking lot in the back has two sets of stairs. It turns out the front of the restaurant has no steps from the side walk, but the front door is kept locked. Of course I believe the law requires doors to be unlocked when patrons are on site, but this door was only unlocked for us to leave by. Just ridiculous! Now the Lincoln House has been known as a very nice restaurant for many years, probably at least 50. There are several dining rooms inside, a large separate bar area and indoor porch seating. It is modestly decorated with 19th century prints. The building itself is old and it retains character while having updated decor, tablecloths and glassware. It is upscale but casual dress is ok. One of us absolutely loves the cheesy tomato soup, a regular offering. The tea was nicely brewed. The food was fresh and tasty. Our server AJ was pleasant and attentive. Total price for 2 soups, 2 teas, and a sandwich and large salad was $50. Ample parking, ample space inside. They just have to do something about that handicapped entrance issue. read more

To start waitress was courteous, so that is a big plus and helped the experience. Ordered corned beef tacos for appetizer- it's Tuesday, so the tacos came with fries. They were good. Significant other ordered the bangers and mash, said it was alright nothing to write home about. I ordered the roasted chicken, it came out looking nothing like menu picture online. (See below menu pic)- it also came out with chopped pecans (see photo of the pile of pecans I got- but am not fan of pecans.) I told waitress menu listed pine nuts and scallions- she checked with kitchen which told her they are out of season and weren't able to be gotten from their supplier. My plate had a very small amount of the butternut squash purée, (less than a quarter cup) under the tiny piece of chicken, a few pieces of apple amongst the ton of pecans. The carrots looked to be about the same amount as pictured on the menu photo. The chicken was done right and tasted good, as well as the carrots, but the rest lacked and I very disappointed. If cook knew items in dish wasn't going to reflect what was to be on the dish, they should send the waitress out to relay that beforehand so I could decide if I still wanted that entree, which I would not have chose to proceed with that and would have elected to make a different selection. For fine dining I'd expect better at $29 for the entree which didn't come as advertised. I wish I had taken a photo of the dish when it arrived, but I didn't have my phone out at that point. These are the sorts of things that make me go elsewhere with my money. (They did take a percentage off my meal, but like I said, had I known in advance, I could have chose something else entirely and enjoyed the whole meal. A very well known place in the Ephrata Pennsylvania area. We were staying at an Airbnb that recommended eating here and I have to say I was not disappointed. Restaurant is decorated with a lot of presidential things. Excellent salads and dinner choices and very fair price cocktails. There's a bar area for eating in a quiet, larger dining room. While our service and the ambience of the establishment was very good, three or four meals also very good. The crabcakes were diner quality with more filling than crab. In addition, there was not a single Sauvignon Blanc, wine available and the only Cabernet Sauvignon was Cabot. I am not by any means of wine snob, but that selection is no way acceptable. I'm a lost New Yorker who stumbled on to this place. Actually my friends took me here. Never seen honest Abe without a beard until I arrived here. The ambiance is awesome. Feels very historical and the lighting is perfect for that vibe. The food was delicious. I wish I can say the same about my friends, but this is my review. Their French onion soup is so delicious that I cleaned it up for more soup to be poured on there. Simply Amazing! For my entree I ordered their Pineapple Bacon Burger. Never had pineapple on a burger, to my surprise it was phenomenal! The sweetness or the pineapple spread mixed with the saltiness or the bacon paired perfectly with my medium cooked burger. Oh let's not forget about the fries. DEEEELICIOUS! Perfectly crisp and order them with the house sauce. You'll thank me later. Overall I enjoyed this place. Awesome New Year's Eve Dinner! I wanted to take my Girlfriend out to a nice place for NYE and found this place - online menu looked good (nice variety of choices). We were seated promptly (we arrived about 5 min before our reservation) and started off with apps (French Onion soup & bacon-wrapped scallops) which were good. We went with beef for main courses - Prime Rib & Delmonico - both were cooked exactly to our tastes and were awesome! We also split a nice chocolatey dessert (see pics) which was great as well. Her son did a beautiful job arranging everything especially choosing this place for everyone to catch up and have a bite to eat before their long journeys back home. The restaurant arranged for a room away from the other restaurant guests. We were a group of twenty spread between five tables. The service was very good although I was still numb what would usually be an easy task was difficult to choose something. The server guided us to the most popular selections. I had the fish tacos along with a white sangria they were delicious and glad not too spicy as I was worried for my stomach with all that was occurring. The potato chips I didn't really care for. But happy not to have the calories. The restrooms were very nice and close by. There was plenty of free parking to the rear of the property. read more

I have fond memories of Olde Lincoln House. My dad used to bring us here for dinner as kids. I had heard that the quality has suffered over the years. Very overpriced for the quality of food. Granted, I know seafood is going to be slightly more expensive no matter what kind of establishment you are at, but this was poor. We left hungry. The fish were about the size of a small chicken tender. Normally, Fish and Chips is served as one or two giant pieces of fish. This fish looked and tasted like it was from the frozen isle. I asked if she would eat this she stated with an attitude that I was not obligated to stay. The day we went was February 10,2024 for my birthday dinner. This was not my first time in here. My first dinner was excellent and I left a twenty dollar tip. It was November 2022. The staff was mature and the meal was excellent . As for February 10, I left your establishment just as quiet as I came in. If telling someone they don't have to stay is being told to leave then. Your business practices are horrible. I was on the hunt for a good place that has French Onion soup and Google led me to this place that I've never tried before. I didn't have time to go sit down and eat so I called in an order and asked to take it to go. The woman on the phone was super nice, Beth and took my order. She said it would be ready in 15 minutes (she was right). When my friend and I arrived at the restaurant, there's a private parking lot and lots of spaces. We went inside and the interior of the restaurant is very historical and pub-like with lots of seating areas. I actually liked what it looked like inside, kind of cozy and comfortable. Immediately we were greeted by a man (host) with the best attitude and then he directed us to the bar area where our food was for our pick up. We spoke to Beth for a little bit, paid, signed the receipt and then we were on our way home. Well...I should've looked at the receipt. The one item that even brought us to the Old Lincoln House was not in our possession! They gave us tomato soup instead ! I looked on the receipt and they actually entered it in as tomato soup...I'm not sure how that got mixed up because on the phone she read it back and said "French onion soup." Weird. We alsoordered a side of French fries and onion rings which were super greasy and a sort of soggy. The Caesar salad with grilled chicken wasn't bad, but the best part was the grilled chicken. Overall, for what we paid it came out to be about $44 with tip. I don't think that our food was worth $44 at all especially since they got our order wrong but I would be willing to give them a second chance in the future sitting down and eating there. read more

So honestly, this is another higher end restaurant and bar. The place is really nice on the inside and the bar area is cool too. I've unfortunately only been able to try the chicken fingers and fries due to the fact that a lot of the stuff on the menu is more expensive. However, each time, the portion is huge, and the staff is always friendly. I mean, the prices are the only thing I have the issue with. Other than that, I do recommend the place. read more

My husband and I can't wait to go back. We went on a Saturday night and there was a singer with guitar who was fantastic- and they had a nice room to listen in-you could have a drink while waiting for a table or even stop back after the meal for dessert. This is a classic place to eat. The menu is reminiscent of the '80's with nothing modern to speak of in the way of food or drink. If you are looking for simple choices, this is the place to come. We have tried many of the items in the times that we have come here. The pork belly tasted good. The burgers are standard. Nothing fancy. The pasta dishes are tasty, as well. The bar area is loud so we noticed that older people were choosing the dining rooms, instead. We didn't mind it but we had kids with us two of the times we went. The interior is gorgeous! It feels like you are eating in the dining room of an old house and it was really cool. The wings were really good. Nice flavor, crunchy skin, and very juicy! The pretzel and crab dip was just okay. The flavors were kind of meh and for the price we probably wouldn't get it again. The French onion was pretty decent though. We just split some apps and the soup so we didn't get to try any of their main dishes, but would definitely go back to try them if we were in the area again.
