The place has a lot of character, it was giving West Village NY vibes with steps that led all the way up to the order counter. There were tons of soup , sandwich, and salad options to choose from. Chris who worked the front, was amazing . He kindly guided me to the soup of my dreams lol . They offered a seasonal Italian Wedding Soup and it was chefs kiss. Literally the best Italian Wedding soup I've ever had. Flavorful, light, not too salty, not overly seasoned, fully of veggies, delicious broth , and a meatball made in house that was out of this world. I always love soup, so was happy to try this spot out! My bf and I went for lunch. It's a cozy spot with seating; I could see it getting hard to find a seat during a busy time, but luckily when we were there it wasn't bad. We were greeted by the employee behind the counter who gave us time to review the menu and was happy to answer questions and make recommendations. I got a large Buffalo chicken soup and my bf got baked potato soup. It came out very hot (as soup should be!). There was also bread served with it which was nice. My soup had a good flavor and a generous amount of chicken and orzo. My bf's soup was perfectly creamy and comforting. We both enjoyed them and found a large to be filling. So the shop is super cute decor wise. I love the vibes of the place even tho it's small. However, these people were incredibly rude. I was trying a crab soup and I honestly really didn't like it. It tasted pretty weird and it looked like baby food. So I asked my bf to politely ask if I could have chicken noodle soup instead. I told him it was ok if they said no and that I get it. When he went up and asked if it would be possible for an exchange, the first person at the counter went to go ask someone in the back. Then the man (who at the time is chopping something) turns and points the knife at my bf!! Crazy behavior. And he's like "you don't like the soup???" and my bf is like "no my girl didn't like it". And the guy agrees to give him the new soup but the whole time he's complaining about how it's "expensive soup". He says we could've sampled it and I admit that's my fault but to be fair, I don't think many people walk into a place and are asking to sample things unless it's advertised somewhere or if it's an ice cream place. Had a taste for soup. My daughter recommended I try this place because it's along my drive to work. I walked in and was ignored for 8 minutes while I stood there waiting for someone to acknowledge me. There were 3 people behind the counter avoiding eye contact. Needless to say I walked out & chose to spend my money elsewhere. It's a small place not all clean so maybe I dodged an even more bad experience in my stomach. Lentil chorizo soup is great. Chicken noodle is great. Turkey sandwich is great. Meatloaf sandwich is great. Thai tomato was technically sound just not my personal jam. Minestrone was the only thing that left a little to be desired. Parking around the corner. Ambiance is adorable and cozy. Prices are right in the sweet spot and you're getting every cent of your moneys worth. Holy moley! So I've heard a lot about Soup's On and in the back of my head I kinda thought, "what's so special about soup?". Recently I came down with a chest cold (not Covid, phew) and really needed some comfort food. I called Soup's On and ordered a sandwich and soup for pick up. It was ready in 15 minutes and cost about $12. I got the oven roasted turkey sandwich and the spinach feta soup. Oh, man. It was exactly what the doctor ordered. This turkey sandwich was huge! Topped with perfectly melted cheese and delicious slices of turkey. The spinach and feta soup was not what I expected but it was still amazing. It was mostly just a broth and didn't actually contain chunks of spinach like I assumed. Was it still flavorful and delish? You bet your bottom. You can also bet that I dipped my enormous turkey sub into that soup and almost died and went to heaven. One thing I love about this place is that it kinda reminds me of that Seinfeld episode where the business owner is really strict about how people order his soup - you know which one I'm talking about. You can tell the business owner takes no BS but is probably a softy deep down. If he's not from NYC, he gives me NYC vibes. Definitely call ahead, know what you want, and don't expect a lot of frills. What Soup's On lacks in frills though, it makes up for in price, quality, and flavor. I will be returning! read more

I liked this place. I had an overall good time here eating food that was comfy for the stomach. The soup was warm and hearty. It reminded me of times spent on the cold shores of iceland eating soup looking at the frost on the rocks. I ordered the banh mi and the crab soup. I was honestly surprised to see it on the menu so I figured it was worth the shot. The bread was crusty, warm, and felt good to bite into. the sauces from the banh mi was spicy and savory. Walking through Baltimore on a way to a show at the Lyriq and we stumble upon Soups On. First impression isn't much as it's a tiny restaurant tucked into a old Baltimore row home. Probably couldn't fit more then 20 people comfortably inside at one time, but all that is a front for some of the most delicious soup and sandwiches you can get. A small team of artisans are in the back using some sort of special magic to create some very thoughtful and delicious food. I must must must mention the French onion soup. I don't even like French onion soup but after trying my wife's I was absolutely blown away. We ended up doing the combo so soup and a sandwich and the grilled chicken sandwich was delicious. I'm honestly obsessed with this place, I'm so excited I found it. My friend and I were specifically looking for French onion soup (FOS) one chilly autumn day, and Marie Louise Bistro was closed, and I came across a glowing FOS review for Soup's On on Google Reviews. I completely agree with it--it was hearty (beef stock) and the cheese was perfectly melty, it was exactly what I wanted. I came back 2 weeks later for more FOS. I also got the roasted eggplant sandwich and it was really scrumptious. And it's all pretty cheap! And there's a cute lil door to an organic grocery store next door that totally gives otherworldly Narnia vibes. I am lucky to be a regular here since I work in the area and I've never had a bad experience in a year and a half. The soups rotate fairly frequently with French onion always on the menu and either Maryland or cream of crab available on Wednesdays. The salads and sandwiches rarely change (however, I just tried the new roast beef with arugula, cheddar with horseradish, and yum!) and all of them are good. I especially like the bahn mi, pork or tofu depending on my mood. They always have vegan and vegetarian options and even dessert soups on occasion. And if you manage to snag a piece of frittata, it's truly wonderful. I usually go for the combo and pick whatever speaks to me that day. The soup is always different, and besides making a lot of old favorites (chicken noodle, broccoli cheddar, etc.), they come up with very creative and worldly flavors. This is a very nice area that shares parking spaces with a lot of shops, stores and establishments, so it probably be best to walk here from somewhere else. But moving on... The door of his place was a little difficult for me to find. The door of this location is to the right of a door advertising a natural food store. You actually have to go in the door to the right of the natural food place and walk up steps and then you enter the establishment. It's not the prettiest place I've ever been but definitely has some of the nicest customer service ever received. Since I've never been here before, I decided to look around first and then read the menu. The dining room is really really collected. The whole place is it, nothing really matches not spotless clean but not dirty. Soup is definitely the focus here! They have a refrigerator full of cold soup that you can take with you or, you can order one of the six to eight soups of the days to have heated into take with you that serve with a vegan bread. I chose the Minestrone w/ Spicy Italian Sausage, Pasta and Parmesan Cheese, minus the parmesan cheese. It was very tasty. Although I can barely taste anything in life this week, I could taste this and it was very enjoyable. I can taste the spices as well as then Italian sausage that was very good. The prices are Magnificent. The prices are $4-$6 dollars. I purchased the $5 bowl of soup, I very well could have got the $4 cup of soup. That bowl of soup was so filled, that I wasn't even able to eat it all. I researched the website more once I returned back to my office to see other soups that they do carry and they carry at least 100 soups! I will be stalking their menu online daily because they do keep it up to date which is a major bonus for me and mainly the reason I'm giving four stars to see some of the meat flavors they have! Extremely balanced with flavours and richness. No excessive thickener or meat added. Sandwich- it's surprising that the pork can be so uniquely tasteful in different sandwiches. I can tell just from walking in that everything going in to their food was going to be good quality. I ordered their pork bahn mi and Maryland crab soup combo ($10 even!) and loved every bit of it. The sandwich was supposed to be half size and if it was, then it was a pretty impressive half sandwich. The sandwich was loaded with both veggies and pork and had tons of the daikon radishes and cilantro that I love so much on bahn mi. The soup was good, although I'd love to try some of their other choices next time. The guy taking the orders was a little interesting. When I ordered, he didn't even look up at me and started to mumble. I couldn't understand him and assumed he asked what I wanted. You walk through a slim hallway into a non-pretentious "waiting room". Carry out or dine in. The dine-in option may be hard on busy days, but today was not one of them, surprisingly. You go up to the counter and order your soup, sandwich, or soup and sandwich combo. Moderate selection of vegan/vegetarian and meaty soups. According to the menu, there were (and will be) pescatarian options, but not today. The sandwich selections are vegan and non. And the selection... compact but full of punch. If we could, we would have tried them all, if our own sandwiches were any indication of how the remainder of the menu would have tasted. They brought us our order; we sat at a table near the front window, which was a little drafty, but the food heated us up right away. Our whole group enjoyed every bite of the soup (which came with soft white bread) and our hot sandwiches. Eggplant and goat cheese, strawberries and pork... what original combinations but with fantastic flavors. We enjoyed every single bite of our meal. Missing my favorite French onion soup from Panera I was in search of a replacement until they bring it back after January. I may have found a permanent replacement. Sorry Panera The French onion soup was delish. Full of flavor and perfectly seasoned. My service was excellent which always goes a long way. I also grabbed a salad to make my meal a combo, I haven't had the salad yet. But I will try it sooner than later. It looks like they may change the menu up a bit but some of the soups like French onion stay. Also, they have frozen or chilled soups in the cooler to take away.
