I loved this place! It's definitely a spot for locals during lunch, so it can get pretty busy. The seating can fill up quickly, but the food can easily be taken to-go. You order by starting with the type of meal and protein. You then can add whatever toppings you'd like. I loved all the different options (veggies, hummus, sauces, etc). You can also grab a small dessert or add pita on the side. The prices are very reasonable too. I would always be so full after eating here and extremely satisfied. This is an amazing lunch spot near the hospital! I've been here several times now, and have truly become a fan. Can be relatively crowded during lunch hour especially now that it's a little bit colder and most people are sitting down inside. But given its close proximity to the hospital it's very easy to grab food and bring back to work and still have it be relatively hot. They have combination plates and wraps. You choose your protein, your starch, side dishes, and any finishing toppings/sauces. Personally I get the chicken Shawarma when I'm trying to be healthy, and the chicken schnitzel when I want comfort food. The falafel is very tasty if you prefer vegetarian. The cabbage is too salty at times. The cucumber tomato salad is fresh and tasty. The hummus is great! The baba ganoush is mediocre. The tzatziki is OK, but not as good as traditional Greek tzatziki. The garlic mayo sauce is phenomenal. The only reason I can't justify giving this a five star rating is because some of the side dishes and condiments are just OK. read more

Delicious fast casual Mediterranean choice right by the hospital! They are only open on weekdays so we drove into the city for a quick lunch. Street parking was easy and plentiful. I ordered the falafel plate (you can get regular or spicy falafel) and my boyfriend got the lamb and beef shawarma pita pocket. Both were delicious. It is served chipotle style where you decide pita or plate, and then it is an assembly line with topping choices. I picked every topping on my plate and am happy and full. My boyfriend's one complaint was that they did not have olives as one of the choices for toppings, but I am not an olive fan so no complaints here. Grabbed lunch here with a coworker during our conference and I was legit impressed. We both got the chicken shawarma bowl with yellow rice, hummus and onions. Everything was delicious. They have a little shaving machine to shave off chicken from the spit which was cool to watch. I think the rice tasted too much of raw turmeric but other than that, it was all delicious. The chicken was very flavorful, not dry and the crispy end bits were wonderful. The hummus was good too. Good flavor to the spiced onions and the tztiki was well done. My friends have been raving about Pitamore, and I'm happy to tell y'all the food fully lived up to the hype! They're open from 10AM-7PM Monday through Friday, and they get super busy during lunch.  The line moves quickly though - they have a really efficient process in place.  As for food, their menu's short and straightforward.  I'm a big fan of "bowls" in general so their mixed shawarma (chicken, lamb and beef) plate's my go-to.  All of their proteins are great though so go with whatever sounds yummiest.  I love that you can get as many toppings as you want, and they offer really dope options like fried eggplant! PS. don't leave without getting dessert because their chocolate mousse is a must! It's decadent but light, with an exquisite texture I couldn't get enough of.  Gotta try the baklava next time! read more

I love hitting up Pitamore for lunch when I'm in the office! The falafel is always great - not too dry. Even though there aren't as many toppings as other restaurants of this type (Cava, Mezeh, etc.), I do love that you can have unlimited toppings. My favorite topping is probably the fried eggplant, and I also really like the cabbage salad. The sauces are all super delicious as well! I had been meaning to check this place out after hearing about it from my roommate, and I finally decided to stop by yesterday. GREAT lunch option if you work at UMMC or anywhere else nearby. It's sort of like a chipotle/CAVA styled set up which I haven't seen done for shawarma before. You stand in line and tell them your order, then go down the line and pick what you want in your plate. They have plenty of different options at the end for what sauces you want and they do not skimp out. The food was really good- we got the chicken nugget plate and spicy falafel plate with pita. The nuggets are a must try. All of the sauces were delicious as well. The only reason why I didn't give 5 stars is because when we came in at 6 pm, they were completely out of shawarma (no more chicken, lamb, or beef) which was why we had to opt for the nuggets and falafel (which were still really good). Granted it was at the end of their day so it's understandable, but make sure you come here early if you want their meat! I also didn't give 5 stars because it was a little frustrating placing my orders with the worker, but everyone was still very nice. Chicken was dried shards and they put it over rice, cucumbers, hummus in the same tin container so you couldn't heat it up in the microwave in their container and then it heated up the cucumbers and hummus. Seating is indoor and outdoor, location is close to UMB Hospital, Camden Yards and M&T Bank Stadium. My boss brought me here once and I've since been a return customer. Now I have taken a number of coworkers and converted them into fans. It'll be your new favorite I'm sure of it. I finally tried this place tonight after hearing such great things from friends! I went around 6 pm, so they were out of everything but chicken which is what I got. All the toppings were delicious, but the chicken was very dry and stale (it might have been because I came only 1 hour before closing). I especially liked the fried eggplant! They also give you a punch card so that you get a free drink, dessert, or free meal depending on how many times you come. I was disappointed by the chicken but will have to try again earlier in the day, and hopefully try the lamb!! read more

Definitely do not comprehend the inflated ratings - this is one of the worst things we've had in Baltimore in years. And why are their employees dumping waste liquid into the harbor?? We came at what seemed like a quieter time, before lunch rush. Bowl was soggy, stinky, and flavor is way off. We couldn't even finish the bowl and felt nauseated the rest of the day. This is one to skip. They have "traditional" in their description, but this was anything but. They also seemed to be reusing old oil, because it had a rancid taste. The food is delicious and the portions in the plates are generous! I wish they were open past 7pm on weekdays and that they were open on the weekends. I loved every one of the unlimited toppings. The plate is definitely a better deal than the pita! I really wanted the beef/lamb shawarma or the chicken shawarma, but they were out of both at 6pm. The choice was either chicken schnitzel nuggets or falafel. I opted for schnitzel. The nuggets were a bit dry and over-fried. Everything else in the plate was delicious though, including the sauces (tahini, garlic, and tzatziki). The server was very generous with the portions too. I personally wasn't a fan of the amba sauce (tangy mango) - it was like a curry, mango sauce but I thought it was too spicy and not very sweet. I don't know if my favorite thing is how delicious and authentic the food is, or that corporate monstrosity Potbelly Sandwiches next-door is openly trolling them with gigantic signs about their gyro special. I guarantee you that potbelly does not have two spits operated and cooking authentic chicken shawarma along with the lamb/beef shawarma. I had the lamb/beef pita sandwich, which was absolutely delicious, along with the fries that were a perfect double cooked. Their falafel is delicious - it has the perfect amount of salt and perfect in texture (it's lightly crisp on the outside). I don't understand how this place has good ratings. The food was disgusting and tasteless. I ordered the chicken shawarma, but the restaurant was apparently out of it. I opted for the chicken nuggets shawarma and that was not good. I received little hard and dry pieces of chicken. I also ordered the lamb gyro platter and received hard and dry pieces of shaved lamb. I ordered via Uber Eats so I was not in a position to take it back to the restaurant. Customers in this area need to raise their standards. If you want good chicken shawarma, check out Lebanese Taverna. If you want good gyros, check out Greek Village in Randallstown or Marathon Deli in College Park. When I was working at my first hotel job in DC, there was a shop known for great pitas and shawarma. When I moved to Baltimore and got a job here, I missed an excellent pita for lunch until traveling nurses and doctors that worked at nearby UMMC told me about this great spot about a block from where I work, and I was excited. My go-to is the chicken pita with a side of fries and a drink. I fill it up with the hummus, all the sides (except eggplant), and even add the heat. I may go with the falafel or lamb, but the chicken has never steered me wrong. Plus, I always get hot fries; they make it to order and appear at your side within a couple of bites. Pitamore has a loyalty program, but it is a punchcard, so they are going old school, and there is nothing wrong with it. The staff is consistent and friendly and always willing to make their regulars happy. It's a diamond in the rough, and I will continue going until they leave or I leave. My take, Go. Right now!
