One of the best meals I've had in Baltimore! And the service is exceptional!…read more Oleum is an upscale vegan restaurant with a large variety of menu options. Our server, Josie, went above and beyond to take care of us. She provided excellent recommendations and was super friendly and attentive! We ordered the Batata Harra, Saltat Marrakech, and the Stuffed Dates for apps. All of them were incredible, but the Saltat was so refreshing and the Dates truly stole the show. The creamy ricotta filling with red pepper sauce was to die for. For mains, we shared the Lasagna and did a half and half pizza of The Gabriel and the Toum Raider. The lasagna was super savory and very filling--perfect to share! I enjoyed both pizzas, but the Gabriel was my favorite. I loved the combo of the nutty pesto and spicy Calabrian chilis. Josie brought out a cupcake for dessert to celebrate my friend's birthday, and it was probably one of the best vegan treats I've ever had! Can't wait to come back next time I'm in town!

We were a few minutes late, but we had notified the restaurant ahead of time. The service was fine overall, but there were several things that made the experience disappointing. The menu was not explained particularly well, and a server repeatedly brought us food that we had not ordered. We had to explain multiple times that the items were not ours. We arrived around 6:45 PM for our 6:30 reservation, and we felt rushed throughout the meal because the restaurant had another reservation for our table at 8:15. While I understand that they needed to turn the table over, it made the dinner feel rushed, particularly since we had arrived only about 15 minutes after our reservation time and had notified them that we were running late. I was also disappointed that my birthday was not acknowledged at all. Despite noting it on the reservation and mentioning it when we arrived, there was no birthday acknowledgment or even a simple "happy birthday" from our server. Our table was also located directly next to the host stand, bathrooms, and waiting area. Several delivery drivers came in during our dinner and spoke very loudly while waiting, making it difficult for us to hear each other. The food was okay to good, and the service was adequate, but overall, the experience did not feel particularly special for a birthday dinner. Between feeling rushed, repeatedly receiving food we did not order, being seated in a very noisy location, and having my birthday completely overlooked, I expected more from the experience.

I ordered the following items on Uber Eats: - Curry Puffs - Vegan Nuggets - Salt & Pepper Tofu - Black Pepper Ban Mein w/ Thick Noodles The portion sizes for the main dishes (Salt & Pepper Tofu and Ban Mein) were generous, about 2-3 servings and shareable. Which is pretty amazing considering the Ban Mein was $10 (on Uber Eats). I made sure to try a mix of dishes that both featured and didn't include meat substitutes...I was WOW'd by all of the food! As a meat eater, the vegan beef in the Ban Mein was very well seasoned and the flavor indiscernible from real meat. I was especially shocked by how much I enjoyed the vegan nuggets. They had a slightly nutty flavor (likely due to the oil) and a great texture. The salt & pepper tofu and curry puffs were standard, but good. Overall, the food at this restaurant runs a little spicier than usual American Chinese spots. Flavors like curry and five spice came through more, and two of the dishes I ordered used fresh peppers (instead of just pepper flakes). I loved it and will be ordering again!

We didn't know they closed at 10 pm so my friend and I kept chatting. I thought the waitstaff was rude as I was still drinking my water and they went to collect my cup. If you wanted us to leave, then just say so. We ordered the dumplings, Kit's special pad thai and lychee martini and my friend had 1444 tea which is basically thai tea with alcohol. The dumplings were good but aren't all dumplings good? The crispy pad thai that they called Kit's special sounded much better on paper. The noodles were so crispy that it did not absorb the sauce. There were alot of sauce at the bottom of the plate and only four pieces of shrimp and two pieces of tofu so basically you are just getting noodles and noodles are cheap. I wouldn't recommend getting this dish for $21 and you don't even get any protein. We didn't finish the dish and the waitresses didn't offer a take away container, just are you finished so she can take away the dish. I was disappointed in my dining experience. The only person who was friendly was the host. The waitress didn't come to our table right away to take our order and only came to bring is our food. We also didn't ask for the check. It was given to us while we were still eating and the waitress couldn't even wait for me to put down my credit card. I can't say I want to come back here to dine again. The food and the service leaves me very disheartened.

A friend and I were seated quickly, and provided menus. I knew I wanted mango lassi and ordered that. We decided to split beef samosas and garlic naan. I went with a veggie saag dish but asked for it extra spicy. The mango lassi was amazing, it was hard to stop myself from chugging it. The beef samosas were well made, perfectly flaky, however, I realized in that moment I prefer veggie samosas. The entrees arrived and my dish smelled amazing. I tried my best to spoon rice onto my plate, but the rice was oddly stacked high on a plate and would just tumble down like an avalanche. I prefer my rice in a bowl. So, my saag dish, while well prepared and was hot, was lacking flavor to me due to the spice used to provide the heat I wanted. And that's on me. I realized this meal that I should get maybe medium spice at most, then ask for whatever their version of "hots" is on the side. Overall, it was a very pleasant visit. Service was amazing. I just made bad choices, which is not Little India's fault.
