I had a good experience at Pitamore for a quick takeout lunch. I ordered a mixed platter with salad instead of rice. The salad options were cabbage and carrot salad or Lebanese salad- cucumbers, tomatoes, and onion. I was hoping for a lettuce salad, but all of the ingredients were so fresh and flavorful, it totally hit the spot. I didn't miss the lettuce at all. I topped my meal with tzatziki sauce, garlic sauce, and pepper sauce. It was delicious. I appreciate that the portion was good for the price and that they've got a rewards program to earn a free meal. Inside it is a small shop, but there are a handful of tables for eating in. The line moved quickly, and the service was very prompt. My only complaint is that Pitamore is only open for lunch on weekdays. I wish they had more hours and were open for dinner and on weekends. My office has placed several catering orders with Pitamore in the past which was always a huge hit. I finally went in person and got there just before the lunch rush. It's a casual fast food like restaurant with only a few tables for dine in while most take their orders to go. The ordering process reminds me of a Chipotle/Q'Doba style. I chose the chicken shawarma plate which you can customize with all the veggies and toppings you want as part of the dish. I had it filled with most everything from the trays I saw - extra fried eggplant because they're amazing! The added garlic and tahini sauce give everything so much flavor. Service was quick and my order was filled accurately with everything I wanted. My bowl was huge and I only ate about half, saving the other half for my dinner later. It's a really reasonable price for the portion you get. I will definitely be coming back for more of my work lunches when I'm on this side of the city! read more

I am the type that likes to plan out in advance where they're going to eat when they travel. I saw that Pitamore had really good reviews and it was a short walk from my hotel, so I decided to give it a try for lunch today after getting into town. I arrived probably 15-20 minutes before closing, so I wasn't surprised when they were out of lamb and also appeared low on chicken. I ended up getting the chicken shawarma plate with pita on the side. My favorite things about the meal were the eggplant and the pita bread. The eggplant seemed lightly breaded and fried and was tender and salty - very yummy! The pita bread was hearty and yet suuuuper soft and pillowy. The rest of my food (chicken, rice, veggies, sauces) was solid, but didn't exactly stand out and make me say wow. I will say, however, that the portion for me was sizable and I couldn't eat it all, so it was certainly filling. Overall, I thought the food was fine, but I wouldn't return and I'm a little surprised at how great the reviews are after trying it myself. When we got our lunch break, I walked over and made an entirely too large rice/shawarma bowl (too large because almost every topping looked great so I just saying, "and that... and that... and yes, that too..."). My first encounter with Pitamore was a number of years ago when I was looking for something to eat during jury duty lunch break. It was delicious! Recently when researching local caterers, I saw that Pitamore did that too. So we hired them for a "baby celebration" for 60 last Saturday evening and the experience was excellent from start to finish. Ronen was delightful and so helpful in choosing what and how much to order and was great about checking in on the days prior to the event. The delivery was flawless and the delivery person was great - quick, friendly, helpful and good at his job. And then the food! It was all excellent and our guests went back for seconds and thirds. The chicken independently is probably fine, but the combination of everything (fried eggplant!) was very yummy. Ordered here for the first time, they really set the bar for me for what I now consider to be "good" falafel. The insides were green, fresh, soft, and savory. I ordered the Mediterranean Falafel Plate (subbed the tzaziki sauce for hummus instead because I'm vegan), extra pita, and fried eggplant. One bite of the falafel blew my mind, and considering that the pita bread didn't have eggs I was surprised by how fluffy the texture was. Hummus was extremely smooth. Fried eggplant was simple, which I think complemented the platter's overall taste profile. I hope one day that they remove the mayo from the Baba Ganoush, a man can dream. My summary is that this is a wonderful joint. It also helps that they have a small curated menu, it makes it easier for me to make decisions on what I want to order. From now on this will be the first place I'll think of ordering from if I'm simply craving a good falafel. SUMMARY: Not fresh or tasty at all. FULL STORY: This place was suggested by a friend in town, but wow was this a misstep. If you know true Arabic dishes like falafel and shawarma, these guys clearly have no idea what they're doing with it. The rice wasn't cooked properly at all - some of it is literally old, stale grains like it's been sitting there for a week. Sauces were watery and tasted off. Quality and is just not there, regardless of price, and there are way too many good options in Baltimore to make this mistake again. For all of that, it wasn't even friendly service. Staff is very friendly and makes recommendations based on what you like, especially if you haven't had Mediterranean food in a long time. My workplace recently got a large order from Pitamore for a meeting and it was quite a hit. There were big trays of shredded chicken, rice, and pita slices in addition to hummus, a salad, some sandwiches, and a couple other sides. I didn't have everything but all the ones I did try were quite good - not too greasy or salty as these things often can be. Highly recommend for catering and events as it's easily accessible and a somewhat more upscale option than sandwiches, pizza, that type of thing.
