This was our first time at Café 1908 and definitely won't be the last. We walked in not really knowing what we wanted, but the woman at the register was super polite and patient while we figured it out. I really appreciated her vibe, and I noticed that when food is ready, she actually comes out from behind the counter to hand-deliver it to customers. That kind of small gesture goes a long way. The place is mostly carry-out, but there are a few bar-style seats if you want to eat there. The menu isn't your typical fast food lineup either, they've got some creative, non-traditional options that definitely stand out. We tried the Jerk Chicken Cheesesteak, Fried Chicken Sandwich, 1908 Chicken Cheesesteak, and Fish Tacos, and they were all delicious. Seriously, everything was seasoned well and packed with flavor, with the exception of our fries, which isn't the end of the world. The jerk cheesesteak had a nice kick without being too spicy, and the fried chicken sandwich had the perfect crunch. For drinks, we had the Strawberry Lemonade and the Peach Half & Half, both were refreshing and hit that perfect sweet spot without being too sugary. We put in a pick up order online. The food was ready at the given time. The inside of the restaurant is small and casual with some seating. I chose a jerk chicken quesadilla and my bf chose the cheesesteak melt. We also ordered a side of fries. I heated up the fries a bit once we got home since they were a bit cold from the walk back; they were well seasoned and tasty. The cheesesteak and quesadilla were both good. I enjoyed the roasted peppers in my quesadilla. Overall, this spot was good and I'd order from here again. read more

I wish I had a photo to show y'all, but I ate most of it before writing this review! Ash was kind enough to give me and my friend some of the "Big Bang sauce" along with our order of Portobello cheese wrap, the Thai chili, shrimp, tacos, and the salmon seafood burger. It took about 12 minutes to get our food while Ash was juggling 1 or 2 other orders. As for the atmosphere... The cheesesteak was a bit smaller than I expected considering the pictures and the price point but the flavors were there! It was very good and I devoured it! The jerk chicken cheesesteak is delicious! It comes in a wrap vs a regular sub roll, and is served with fries. I ordered 1 with onions and 1 without, and the young lady working made sure to clearly label each box. She even dotted the i's with hearts lol The restaurant was clean and had a cute collection of plants in front. We easily found street parking to pull up and run in, but I can see parking being a little more difficult during busy hours. read more

A small carry out shop located in the city, they have creative spins on your typical foods. I ordered via door dish and also placed an order online, both were seamless processes. GLOWS: -The seafood salad is very good! On the expensive side for sure, but worth it for a special treat. -In store service was efficient and effective GROWS: -The curry chicken bowl was entirely too spicy. I won't really speak on the service or the ambiance of the restaurant since I ordered pick up, and I believe they only do pickup. I wanna say the food was AMAZING. I wish there was more. Everything was seasoned correct, the fish was fried just right, and they surely were not skimpy on the crab. The bowl had a small kick to it cause of the sauce they used atop the rice. The jerk chicken wrap with garlic & herb fries on the side is truly a masterpiece. I'm obsessed with this wrap and I truly crave it like every other week. Depending on your spice tolerance, some may think it's too spicy. But just keep in mind, when you order, it's jerk chicken and if you have a low spice tolerance, I wouldn't get it. In my honest opinion both of these wraps look the same. Bangin azz cheesesteak my azz. $20 for a platter that looks like someone ate fries out of already. & the wraps are in no shape or form contents that amount to $15-20. I live 5 minutes up the street & this is my first & last time eating here. It's truly a poor experience, my fries should not be this soggy & low in quantity for $20. Buffalo Wild Wings would've given me more fries had I ordered a SMALL there. Anyways the wraps were a disappointment my sister wants me to add the deli could've done extremely better & she hates to say that she could've went to Wawa & got something cheaper & of better quality. Not to keep comparing but this is just our experience. 0/10 do not recommend. Someone suggest something different. Cafe 1908 makes it convenient to order online using Toast and a few other sites, or you can call in. Either way, the food is ready pretty quickly. There's always a sweet young lady who answers when I call in my order, and she gets it perfect every time. Cool atmosphere upon entering and quick retrieval of food. Limited seating (4-5 stools against a wall shelf). I wish there was more seating so I could visit w friends and family. This business is 6 minutes from my job but 35+ minutes from my neighborhood, so it makes it hard to share w friends and family. I like to eat my greatness on site !! So far, I've visited 4-5 times ordering the Catfish Sandwich and the Salmon & Shrimp Bowl. I absolutely love their Garlic & Herb Fries !! Perfecto !! The in-house beverages are top tier!! I absolutely love this black owned business and will continue to support them as long as the consistency continues to stay at the forefront w unmatched customer service, quality ingredients, and generous portions. Walk in place with limited counter seating. I asked their specialty. No quick answer, so I went with the fried catfish sandwich and had a bottle of fresh juice. The juice itself was good but must've cost $9 or so. Blue Magic. The sandwich was pretty good but not distinct. Fries had a nice crisp. When I come to this establishment the food is always good. I always call ahead to order my food to eliminate me standing around. Sometimes when I call I might get an employee with an attitude while other times, I call and receive awesome customer service. The pictures looked so good, but I have been burned before by establishments that have a strong cult following, and the food is subpar. This place, my friends, is it and worth the internet following! I visited the Cafe 1908 today . They have a new Garden Cafe on the top level that specializes in herbal teas and remedies. It's a quaint cafe with wine options and even an Oxygen Bar. Great for those you are healthy conscientious and those looking for a serene escape from the hustle and bustle of the day. I met the owner Lola who was awesome. She's super friendly, has a great personality and conversation. She informed me about their $5 wine specials. Even the wines they offer are organic with low sugar content. I received a complimentary herbal tea which was really nice. I went with the Roasted Dandelion Detox Tea. It was great. I'll definitely be stopping by again soon. read more

Piping hot, fresh lettuce, fresh tomato, softly grilled and buttered bun, special sauce, sautéed onions. Divine!!! Absolutely no complaints. The sandwich was accompanied with a garlicky, rosemary fries. I couldn't stop eating them. I wish they were hot like the fish sandwich, they weren't, more like room temperature. When I order ahead I'll ask for fresh fries. I had intentions on eating inside but there wasn't a place to sit. I didn't know. No worries! I ate everything in the car. This is a hidden gem! The first time I ate here, I was actually visiting the oxygen bar, Quiet Wealthy, located atop of this restaurant. They are sister businesses, and the owner informed me I could have food delivered there while sipping my delicious mocktails. Since then, I have been a few more times. I've gotten the jerk chicken wrap, different variations of the wings, and a catfish sandwich. The food is something you never knew you needed. The diverse combination of flavors makes these dishes nothing like the average carry out. The food is perfectly prepared and the customer service is always accommodating. There are 4 hightop stools in the small lobby, but the cashier was sitting in one so I would only count 3 stools. I was at the office and a few colleagues and I were discussing lunch choices. But, alas, here we were, all three with the exact same order. As we got back to the lunch room, opened our lunches and took a look, a drop of sweat fell from my forehead. But the meal we were presented with looked delicious! The fries perfectly seasoned with a delightful blend of herbs and spices, the cheese steaks bulging from their grease-soaked (in the best way possible) wrapper (to clarify, the 1908 Cheese steak is served as a wrap). We each looked up, ready for our first bite... Ahhhhhh, marvelous it was! We gobbled them up in no time, and all three agreed that Cafe 1908 had made its way into our lunch rotation! We will be back! Delicious food!!! I enjoyed the jerk chicken cheesesteak (asked for extra spicy) with garlic and herb fries. The wrap was filling with juicy meat and lettuce, tomato, and cheese. The seafood salad wrap was formidable. Large chunks of seafood, nice flavor. But that jerk chicken wrap was out of this world!!! Food is usually great, quick and easy service. the inside is small but nice. typically a staple in my spots around Preston, and I typically order items with the jerk chicken, but this time I went for the Bangin Azz Burrito.
