I wish I had a photo to show y'all, but I ate most of it before writing this review! Ash was kind enough to give me and my friend some of the "Big Bang sauce" along with our order of Portobello cheese wrap, the Thai chili, shrimp, tacos, and the salmon seafood burger. It took about 12 minutes to get our food while Ash was juggling 1 or 2 other orders. As for the atmosphere... We walked in not really knowing what we wanted, but the woman at the register was super polite and patient while we figured it out. I really appreciated her vibe, and I noticed that when food is ready, she actually comes out from behind the counter to hand-deliver it to customers. That kind of small gesture goes a long way. The place is mostly carry-out, but there are a few bar-style seats if you want to eat there. The menu isn't your typical fast food lineup either, they've got some creative, non-traditional options that definitely stand out. We tried the Jerk Chicken Cheesesteak, Fried Chicken Sandwich, 1908 Chicken Cheesesteak, and Fish Tacos, and they were all delicious. Seriously, everything was seasoned well and packed with flavor, with the exception of our fries, which isn't the end of the world. The jerk cheesesteak had a nice kick without being too spicy, and the fried chicken sandwich had the perfect crunch. For drinks, we had the Strawberry Lemonade and the Peach Half & Half, both were refreshing and hit that perfect sweet spot without being too sugary. We put in a pick up order online. The food was ready at the given time. The inside of the restaurant is small and casual with some seating. I chose a jerk chicken quesadilla and my bf chose the cheesesteak melt. We also ordered a side of fries. I heated up the fries a bit once we got home since they were a bit cold from the walk back; they were well seasoned and tasty. The cheesesteak and quesadilla were both good. Cafe 1908 has been on my "to visit" list for awhile. I door dashed them last night. I ordered the cheesesteak and old bay wings. The cheesesteak came with delicious fries. The jerk chicken cheesesteak is delicious! It comes in a wrap vs a regular sub roll, and is served with fries. I ordered 1 with onions and 1 without, and the young lady working made sure to clearly label each box. She even dotted the i's with hearts lol The restaurant was clean and had a cute collection of plants in front. A small carry out shop located in the city, they have creative spins on your typical foods. I ordered via door dish and also placed an order online, both were seamless processes. GLOWS: -The seafood salad is very good! I won't really speak on the service or the ambiance of the restaurant since I ordered pick up, and I believe they only do pickup. I wanna say the food was AMAZING. I wish there was more. In my honest opinion both of these wraps look the same. Bangin azz cheesesteak my azz. $20 for a platter that looks like someone ate fries out of already. & the wraps are in no shape or form contents that amount to $15-20. I live 5 minutes up the street & this is my first & last time eating here. It's truly a poor experience, my fries should not be this soggy & low in quantity for $20. Buffalo Wild Wings would've given me more fries had I ordered a SMALL there. When I come to this establishment the food is always good. I always call ahead to order my food to eliminate me standing around. Sometimes when I call I might get an employee with an attitude while other times, I call and receive awesome customer service. The jerk chicken wrap with garlic & herb fries on the side is truly a masterpiece. I'm obsessed with this wrap and I truly crave it like every other week. Depending on your spice tolerance, some may think it's too spicy. But just keep in mind, when you order, it's jerk chicken and if you have a low spice tolerance, I wouldn't get it. This business is 6 minutes from my job but 35+ minutes from my neighborhood, so it makes it hard to share w friends and family. I like to eat my greatness on site !! I visited the Cafe 1908 today . They have a new Garden Cafe on the top level that specializes in herbal teas and remedies. It's a quaint cafe with wine options and even an Oxygen Bar. Great for those you are healthy conscientious and those looking for a serene escape from the hustle and bustle of the day. I met the owner Lola who was awesome. She's super friendly, has a great personality and conversation. She informed me about their $5 wine specials. Even the wines they offer are organic with low sugar content. I received a complimentary herbal tea which was really nice. I went with the Roasted Dandelion Detox Tea. It was great. I'll definitely be stopping by again soon. read more

The pictures looked so good, but I have been burned before by establishments that have a strong cult following, and the food is subpar. This place, my friends, is it and worth the internet following! This is a hidden gem! The first time I ate here, I was actually visiting the oxygen bar, Quiet Wealthy, located atop of this restaurant. They are sister businesses, and the owner informed me I could have food delivered there while sipping my delicious mocktails. Since then, I have been a few more times. I had been wanting to order from here for a long time, but for whatever reason or another it simply didn't happen. Until last Wednesday. I was at the office and a few colleagues and I were discussing lunch choices. The fries perfectly seasoned with a delightful blend of herbs and spices, the cheese steaks bulging from their grease-soaked (in the best way possible) wrapper (to clarify, the 1908 Cheese steak is served as a wrap). A little high priced and long wait time... but food is made to order. The inside is small with no decor. It is set up more like a carryout food spot with one cook. There are 4 hightop stools in the small lobby, but the cashier was sitting in one so I would only count 3 stools. I feel like the cashier should not sit there when there are several customers waiting on food so that they can have somewhere to sit. I ordered the following to go and tried everything right away: cajun seafood quesadilla w/o onions (comes with shrimp, crab, salmon, peppers and broccoli), sweet potato fries, and strawberry lemonade. The quesadilla was very good, but it does not stick together. So all of the food falls out at every bite smh... I did not like the fries because of the season or grease used. The drink was homemade and was really good. Banana pudding was not available. i very begrudgingly write this newest review but something has changed with 1908! I have been very disappointed on my last 3 visits to 1908. There have been a different cook every single time which absolutely lends to my disappointment. When we first started coming to 1908 there was a tall brown skinned guy cooking. He did that patty melt pure justice. Not one other cook gets it like he did it. On my last three visits, i had the hispanic guy, then there was a female and lastly a younger black guy and all were subpar in my opinion. They are literally layering steak pieces, peppers and onion and tomatoes almost like a deli sandwich. Certainly NOT a patty melt where the meat and cheese are closer and peppers and onions dispersed through out. It's quite weird now. My fries were flavorless, almost like they halved the seasoning or something. My chef style wings skin was super soft, not as crispy as i'd like. i take responsibility for that because i did not ask for them to be fried hard.
